Being self-aware means that you are mindful of your own feelings and behaviors. People who are self-aware tend to know how they interact with their environment and other people on a daily basis. But sometimes it can be hard to step back and be aware of your relationship with yourself and others

I think being self-aware doesnt really necessarily mean that you can manage your time or journal, I think there are some people who are very self aware who cannot express their own ideas because they want to listen to others first before expressing their owns because, personally I think that putting other peoples ideas first and their creative mindsets, you can like create suggestions and create cohesion to their ideas so that itll be executed well. I think Im very self aware and I feel really different to my friends and family, they dont see what I see, they dont know what I actually feel, people around me they say they think before they act but in general some people do lack the empathy, they dont see it in a perspective and understanding as what I see in other people. Theres a difference between self-control and self-awareness, the journal and time management is being in self control and the rest are being self-awarness, I think being self-aware is more on the use of empathy and how you think about what you do to yourself and in others but not in the general things in life such as journaling as an example.

I didn't know I was self-aware?
that's lovely, so interesting.
My daughter who suffers with anxiety and depression (just as I did as a young person till I was 25) she must be too, though of course she takes all the positives and makes them negative (mainly about herself, knowing her weaknesses and dwelling on them instead of growing from knowing them, thinking of her behaviours and dwell on what she didn't do right and not what she did well, concentrating on her past behaviours not being able to navigate from doing them again.
Listening to her friends and taking on their ideas instead of just listening and knowing they are distructive, being too patient with friends so snap when too many people use/abuse her.
Being empathetic but taking on that persons issues and feeling there issues too much.
Taking on her failures, believeing she can't grow from them.
never showing off her art! She's really good.
I can't wait to enlighten her about this (in the most loving way) to help her grow.
Thank you so much for making this video, I'm positive this will help many more people: )

4. You Journal: I leave that to the nursing staff.
5. You practice patience: Being unconscious really helps.
6. You use your empathy: I use two parts empathy, one part psychopathy, and a sprig of cillantro.
7. You accept your failures: Part six makes me accept at least several people's failures.
8. You are humble: Some people want to chop me up and bake me. I assume they are making 'Humble' pie. so YES!
9. You ask for feedback: I get my ask handed back to me all the time.
10. You talk to yourself: Heck, I wrote this for myself to read. Going back to spend more time on point 3.
. did I mention your voice is intoxicating? (that was for me to read.

i personally think self awareness isn't always good, i have self awareness like bad everyday. i think about myself i exhaust myself thinking constantly and its mainly self doubting, i've been slowly recovering and even started working on getting my life back together again. I've been trying to leave my thoughts behind me and just going out more and doing more, but the vicious cycle is deadly and depressing if you get locked down self awareness can be good, but ya'll need too check yourself please don't fall down in the void like i did. because in the end were all gonna die so don't waste it away moping and doing nothing you can make your life meaningful, your purpose is what you make of it your purpose doesn't just come to you, you have to look for it. :)

I think I lack awareness myself, just yesterday my awareness cost me. my almost disownment, just hearing the first example I don't think before I speak nor do I consider how I say things and end up saying different things that lead to chaos. I disregard my emotions and avoid getting into difficult situations and pick the easier way for me. I don't really have time management, and I procrastinate a lot. I can't express what I think or feel or even say it when people ask me what I think or feel. It makes people frustrated when I don't say anything because I have no idea how to describe it. Plus, I am often indecisive when it comes to real-life things 50% of the time.

3. Being self aware of my strengths and weaknesses is a strength itself, but since im a procrastinator myself, i know that its a strength of mine to procrastinate while delivering a job that does well enough to pass. like example, i procrastinate on my project, its amazing how i can do that while getting a high mark on what ive submitted. But this in itself is a weakness, because im being lazy and im just doing whats enough and not my best. And its also my weakness that im still unable to fix this.
am i doing well at being self-aware?

Self-dreariness is not a binary thing. There is no YES, I am self-aware worth considering. Instead, I see it as a lifelong process of discovery and growth. I frequently ask people, Would you rather be the person you are today or the person you were 10 or 20 years ago? Seems that nobody wants to be the person they were instead of the person they have become. I suspect that what we seem to value is the awareness of our own growth over time, and hence how our self-awareness has led to more and more self-acceptance.

Im am very self aware, I fit all the signs. I recently started journaling, so I could vent out all my thoughts and strong feelings, and it really helps. and when it comes to time management, I manage it so I get to relax, have fun, and be alone with myself and my thoughts as much as possible. So, if I have assignments that I can complete within 20 minutes, I put it off until my A20 period at school. Which is basically 20 minutes to work on assignments or play video games if you dont have anything.

Me to a T. Except #7. I will admit my failures. I will do everything I can to not repeat them. Though, even after I have taken every humanly possible step to stop it from happening again. I am just so scared of making the same mistake. Sometimes I will even check over the last thing I did several times. Just to make sure I didnt make the mistake I made before.

Usually, when I talk to myself, I address it to my brain, when its thinking something I dont want it to think, or if it is thinking about something I really like. Or sometimes, (like today, I thank my subconscious for a good dream (if I remember it, that is. Or sometimes, I just keep ruminating over a certain thought I have, and I think out loud.

I feel like self-awareness is a muscle that you have to keep exercising. It's not just something you suddenly achieve and keep. I've gained and lost levels of self-awareness multiple times over the past few years. It can take a long time to build up that self-awareness muscle and it can be taken away very quickly if you decide to stop exercising it.

I self-reflect all the time. Sometimes you are your own best critic (in a good way) You are the only one who truly knows why you do certain things. And what especially helps me is prayer. I do it more like a conversation with God and I reflect with Him as well I truly find that it makes me even more self aware
reply

Hyper self awareness is the worst thing in the world trust me, you literally can't enjoy anything without thinking about yourself experiencing the thing then thinking about thinking about doing it and so one, it's like a jail of endless self reflecting loops and it's so damn annoying.
reply

i know no one is gonna see this, but like im too self aware to the point where i cringe at everything i do and what others do. i notice every little thing possible about my environment. its weird, i wasnt self aware like 3 years ago but out of nowhere i just gained this 6th sense
reply

I hate being so self-aware, that I think about thoughts I have been thinking. I wish I would be as oblivious as most people are usually extroverts or normies. Over time it slowly developed into mild social anxiety. I guess its time to go to talk to someone psychologist
reply

Hmm thats it for being self-aware? I do 9 out of 10 things here but I dont think Im a self-aware person. I dont know what to say or how to react to most social situations. I have to try very hard to have friends. Maybe Im self-aware but lacking something else.

Being self-aware is such an amazing feeling. I feel more connected to those around me and its easier for me to connect with new people. Take the time to meditate and be still at least once a day, best practice. Have a great day if you read this!

After a very difficult past several years, I feel like a new person. I understand this list now, and the only thing I don't feel a strong personal connection with is journaling.
This is a superpower.

Um, how does someone become more self aware? Maybe it's a possible conflict of ADHD with being an introvert. idk. i suck at time management unless i have alarms going off every couple of hours.
reply

1- I think so hard about my words, by the time I thought about something perfectly structured, the conversation is long over.
10- I talk more to myself than to others xD

reply

I, once, was talking out loud to myself during a statistics test and kept on talking to myself until the student behind said. well, I was thinking the same o //// o
reply

Im like half way to 2/3 of the way there. I think my main problem is that I bottle my emotions still. I find them overwhelming & so avoid them & procrastinate.

I love the Spider-Verse meme inspired drawing you used multiple times in this video. A nice little detail to illustrate your points on self awareness!
