Generalized anxiety disorder, also known as GAD, is the most common among anxiety disorders to be diagnosed. People with GAD suffer from intense and persistent worry. People with separation anxiety worry that something unexpected could separate them from their attachment figure, or that their attachment figure will abandon them. Curious to learn more about the different types of anxiety? Social anxiety, social phobia, selective mutism, panic disorder, agoraphobia, specific phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD, and post traumatic stress (PTSD) are all covered in this video. Please do not use this video to self-diagnose. If you can relate to most of the signs, we advise you to go to a qualified medical health professional for a proper diagnosis

I don't know what is wrong with me. I get extremely anxious out of no where, most of the time without cause. I go into panic attacks, but they aren't as bad as when I was a child, it's like this overwhelming panic that is just so seemingly small (It's hard to explain. I can in engage in social interactions in the moment, but as soon as the interaction is over, I get anxious about every word I said, and everything I did. I convince myself that everyone hates me, and constantly focus on what I did wrong in the social interaction. Sometimes I will completely avoid social interaction, because I know I am going to do something wrong and then not be able to get over it. I also have OCD, like my brain will threaten itself, that if I don't do this specific thing, my friends will die, I will die, or I won't get to do this, etc.
This only causes more anxiety, because If I don't do that thing, I will sit and think about how something will go wrong and begin crying, and shaking, until I do whatever it was that I believed I had to.
I don't understand what is wrong with me, or if anyone else is like this.

I think I have social fobia. I often feel like everybody will judge me or make fun of me when I talk to them. It's actually only happening in school but when I meet other people I often just whisper while trying to talk with them. I wanna talk with confidence but I can't. Many people in school think I am introverted but it's actually because of my social fobia. I am actually really energetic and talkative. I still remember the time when I had to show to the class the homework I made. I was sweating and a bit shaking but I tried to talk loud. Then the teacher told me that she had to go to the toilet. When the teacher left the class I felt really bad. My heart was beating very fast and I was sweating. Then someone told me that Nobody cares about my homework. This is exactly what I was scared about. I wanted to slap him in his dumb face or go to the toilet and cry. But I did nothing and ignored what he said. I can't forget that time. Even thought I still have social fobia I feel a lot better now thanks to my bestfriend: )

I know I probably dont have like disorders but I know i have lots of anxiety. For me eating in public, going up in front of my class, and things that would bring attention to me scare me. Plus I sort pretty much all the time. Im usually worried about me messing up in conversations or worrying about my grandparents finding out Im lgbtq+. Ive been having lots of anxiety and stress for almost 8 months now. I want to ask my grandparents who I live with for a therapist. But they would be overprotective. They cause me lots of stress though by thinking my style is weird, my misc is bad, and getting mad when I dont get above an 80 on a test. So how should I ask for a therapist? I feel like maybe going to the one at my school but I feel like shed cal me weird for being non-binary and bi she probably would because its Tennessee and most people at my school who are staff are homophobic

I remember when I was little I had severe separation anxiety and I would start panicking if my parents werent next to me or in the same room. Every day Id have a panic attack going to school or soccer. Every. Single. day. The poor bus driver and my dad had to pick me up and force me on the bus and close it before I jumped out again. The poor other kids mustve hated listening to me ball every morning. All the time my brothers and parents would say its just your anxiety I always said I felt like I was going to throw up and so everyone including me thought that was why I was anxious. Everyone would always say its just your anxiety it was on and off all of elementary school and by the time my parents knew to get professional help, Id already grown out of it. Those years are tough and now Ive been diagnosed with GAD but this time weve gotten professional help and its really helping!

I have OCD and social anxiety. My biggest trigger was death of family members. I had almost completely gotten rid of it about 5 years ago. Unfortunately, last year my great grandma, bearded dragon, dog and fish all passed away. I didn't realise it until recently but the OCD has come back: (
After looking into it, I believe my new obsession is caring for my pets. It's extremely difficult to leave them alone, and I have pretty bad anxiety with the fear of them dying. I had to plan for every possible situation. It's extremely stressful leaving them alone for more than half a day. I'm really adamant about ignoring the urge to do rituals, so luckily that's not really a problem

Can you do me a favor. I recently got felt a feeling of familiarity through solely an eye-contact to a girl, aged 19. she has been suffering from selective mutism. we r together but still quite new to each other and I mistakenly forced her to express more. but she is aware of her issues but not the known disorder as hiding it from her, and I got till here by myself researching bout it. i'm a INTP and hers is INFP. i would prefer more info and intel on selective mutism. Can you make a video for it. I know, its too much to ask for. but its solely for that feeling of familiarity. Can you please help us.

I relate to most things involving GAD and SAD but my parents dont believe I have any kind of disorder or CAN have any kind of disorder, expect my mom has been considering I might have ADHD. My dad doesnt believe any of that though, knowing that once I had a conversation with him that maybe I have a anxiety disorder, but he just brought up normal anxiety and wouldnt let it go. Saying things like But thats normal and Youre fine. Im 11 so I cant just schedule a normal appointment with a professional. What do I do internet tell me

god pls dont self diagnose this kinda stuff because alot of these anxiety disorders can have different symptoms than in this video, as for me i was diagnosed medically with severe anxiety because i would constantly wake up every morning throwing up either my breakfast or just straight up gagging up nothing due to being worried about past traumas, it annoys me how many people with nothing wrong with them will self diagnose and act as if its some quirky trait because it really isnt fun or good at all,

I wish my family would listen to me when i tell them im not ok they always assume i only want attention cuz my brother is diagnosed with adhd and autism they think im faking for attention even in 3rd grade when i used to be bullied at school they gave no attention i have serious anger issues i cant control but mom said you can control cuz ur a human only animals cant control theirselves they don't realise but they're making it worse for me

I've been diagnosed with anxiety since I was 16, but my doctor never told me about the specifics of what my anxiety is. Watching this video helps me to better understand it a little bit. I struggle a lot with social anxiety, specific phobia, and separation anxiety to a point because I am afraid of my family and friends leaving me for good, or forgetting that I exist.

In the last week, I believe I've figured out what I've suffered from over the last 20, 30 years. Generalized anxiety disorder. Personally, I'm not one to grasp an -ism or claim victim status. But knowing what has caused my anxiety and what can be done to help is so, so refreshing and relieving. Thank you for the information!

I have a consistent feeling of self-impending doom at all times. I had a male dog back his butt up on my barefoot in which caused the tip of my second toe to be sucked up into his butthole.
Feeling that before seeing it is almost as awful as the entire experience.

To anyone out there watching this who doesn't suffer from an anxiety disorder, please understand that these feelings are real. Anxiety sufferers are going through serious issues within themselves. Please try to respect them and support them as much as you can.

Why are we learning about stuff like how to code and make a cat run across the screen when we could be learning stuff like this? Its not only educational and good for spreading awareness. Its INTERESTING!
