So I'm watching some videos like this because I find myself in an unexpected situation. I am in my 70s, widowed, and quite content to live out my life with my dogs, hobbies, and friends. And then, surprisingly, I met a lovely, charming woman my own age and we slowly started dating.
Perhaps because of my advanced years of experience and my efforts to better myself after previous failed relationships, I'm looking at videos to help me make sure I'm on the right track with this one,
To my astonishment, everything I found in this video (any many others like it) I am already doing, examining, and exploring. And so is my lady. In other words, it looks like many years of previous experience have finally produced wisdom. In fact, it look like this is the love of my life, my one true love, the one I was meant to be with.
But it kinda sucks that it took 70 years to get to this point: ) So, we're intent on making the years we have left the happiest, most memorable. So, thanks for the confirmation!

Everything said in this video is 100% correct and spot on but I do wish that everything from and after agree to disagree should have come first in the beginning of the video because those are the factors that really determine whether a relationship is worth fighting for and I know my pre-married woman brain would have looked at all your good points being at the back and given them less thought and started paying more attention to the points more at the front. And we want more young people to recognise the truth of relationship maintenance.
Too often I have heard my friends pick apart small things in a relationship and say that's why they stopped even though they also say this person is marriage material

My ex gf and I broke up 5 months ago. We were all of this, I never felt that connection with anybody else. The only issue was that we had a couple of different core values, and it was not issue for some time, but it was a distance relationship, and after two years those little differences started to make conflict between us, she got a little lost in her life and the things she wanted. I lost her but I didn't want to.
I started talking to her again a few days ago just as friends, and that connection is still there. So I decided I will fight to get close to her and try to be back with her. Hopefully I will make it, but if not, at least I want to try.

I think i just realized I HAVE been in love with her all this time. I was just too scared to love again to realize I was in love. I know she is in love with me. But she settled for just keeping no label on it because she loves me so much and now that Im on a work trip away from her, shes mad at me for other reasons (me not appreciating and taking her for granted no doubt) and wont text me and all I wanna do is run to her and ask her to be my gf and apologize so many times. Like Im literally looking at jewelry and romantic ways to ask her to be my girlfriend.

I have a relationship in my life that check all of these boxes:
He makes me happy
We can speak about pretty much anything
We enjoy each other company, even if not a single word is shared
I can be myself around him (though I'm pretty much always myself, flaws and all, so that one may not count)
If we disagree about something, we just agree that we disagree and then move on
We share the same core values
And he makes me want to be the better version of myself
We're not a couple, though, he's a dear friend of mine.

Unless each person is willing to put the other into the first place in their own life, AHEAD of all their own blood relatives, they are not worth keeping or fighting for.
It took me a very long time to see it with the last woman but she ultimately failed that test and I had to walk away.
I should have seen this with my ex-wife (not the same woman) but chose not to pay close enough attention because I was tired of being lonely and being treated like a criminal for being single and almost 30.

I was pretty sht for awhile for a lot of reasons and my wife is leaving me. I've been working on myself and pursuing my own growth because she makes me want to be the best version of myself and I want to do the same for her. Make our part of the world not suck for 5 minutes, no more anger, no more judgment, only love. I just want her to be happy no matter the outcome. I love her more than anything and would never want another.

There's this someone doing something offensive to me. They look like a good person with values and they clearly aren't doing it to hurt me. It also happened before and I didn't know how to deal with it so I ghosted the person(and my job) but this time I'm ready to talk about it with they and even have proper case of when they did it. Had to let her walk for a little bit I hope she returns. I was once previously engaged to my high school sweetheart and didnt feel what I did with this gal. This was the most beautiful intense relationships Ive ever had. Came out of nowhere but found myself in deep. I know shes worth it but life isnt ready for us, maybe not now or maybe not at all I am just happy I met her.

I have been travelling overseas recently and started to have doubts about our relationship, especially since our timezones are way off right now. But everytime I do get to talk to her, all my worries fade away.

Well like the guy who i love, or loved yesterday called me when i had a concert telling me that he wants to break up, i don't really understand his decision i am kinda frustrated that he wants to meet me tomorrow, and like i know what i expect and it really hurts. i mean really really hurts even after watching other people stories about breaking up

This video actually gave me a weird answer. I saw the flaws in my ex and I decided to better myself because I knew that if they had these things wrong with them than I have things wrong with me if I want the person that I'm going to be with to be truly happy than I need to be the best person that I can for them.

I am having trouble with answering the first question. Sometimes I am happy around my partner, and often I am not. Surely all the time happiness is not required, but how much happiness makes a relationship healthy? Some of the other questions were no's and some were yesses.

I was overthinking my best friend a lot lately, but I always wanted to fight for her, she is so supportive in my struggles by listening to me whenever I need it. So glad I havent given up on her, because it would have been the worst mistake of my life

What hurts the most is that I shared all of these with my most recent girlfriend except for #6. You can share all of these traits but if you don't have the same core values the relationship just isn't going to work.
