Im one of those never go to the doctor types, but I was having some sort of throat problem and finally it became so severe I went to the doctor several times just to be told nothing was wrong. Eventually while googling symptoms I accidentally found panic disorder, well, it fit perfectly but heres the thing, Im not a nervous person at all. Ive done tons of live performances, public speaking, I just dont really have any nervousness at all. I decided to check with the doctor. So I told my doctor I did research and found something but didnt want to say what and let him diagnosis based on what fit (who knows? Could be something else that fits) and so I tell him the symptoms and all the relevant events. Well, turns out I didnt have some kind of throat problem, I had very severe panic disorder. I was averaging 3-5 major panic attacks a day, was put on enough medication to put a horse to sleep and totally turn off the part of my brain capable of having panic. I have never been so relieved in my life. My life had become so intense that leaving the house was terrifying although nothing would activate it, I just knew Id rather panic at home then out of the house. I finally got to go back to living a normal life.
To others Id say, even if you think something like this doesnt fit your personality, it can still just happen. Just like a comedian might be depressed when youd expect a depressed person to just be in bed and sad, you can have this disorder and be a totally outgoing, fun person. Heck, at the peak of my symptoms, I was leading a team of coworkers in training and making friends and absolutely relaxed in my conversations with management while at the same time having to hide the fact that occasionally I couldnt even stand up or walk because my panic attacks had me convinced I was dying and the world was spinning so fast I was going to lose consciousness. So just dont think you have to have a nervous disposition to have this.

I have been diagnosed with a panic disorder but I think its heading to agoraphobia. I fear of driving ever since I had a severe panic attack while driving. I thought I was going to pass out, seizure out, very light headed, dizzy, shaking, sweating, blur vision, my whole body went numb. My legs and arms had muscle tensions to them. I have a hard time talking due to the muscles. I did not have my medication to calm me down which is my Xanax. I didnt have it for 3 days. My doctor or the pharmacist screwed it up. I ended crying and went to the emergency room. I feel of having an attack in public or driving. My biggest fear. Driving is so hard for me since I have to drive because I have kids. It takes over my life. I cant get into a psychiatrist for another 4-6 months. I am in therapy which helps but I need more help with a mental professional. People tell me to breathe dont think it about. Thats easier said then done. I am on antidepressants but the medicine I am on I dont think it helps with a panic disorder. I will go places as long as some drives or its not a far drive. I take my medicine b for hand so I can relax. Some times it doesnt work. I will speed to get where I need to be. I already gotten pulled over but no ticket thank god. But this is my everyday life. Some times it hits me out of know where. I am anxious all the time. I worry about everything. I cant sit still for to long. Watching a movie can trigger me. I dont sleep well. I dont feel normal. I cant have a normal life with this. I have to take short cuts to drive. Being stuck at a red light triggers me. So I will go diff ways thats dont have stop lights. I cant go on the toad that I had my attack. It triggers me. I have a hard time breathing. I have attacks everyday but some times 3 times a day. It does feel like I am gonna dye. I have been to the hospital 3 times so far.

I've had symptoms of this all my life. Rapid heartbeat, trembling, hyperventilating, feeling like my heart dropped to my stomach, nauseated, nervous stomach feeling. They mostly occur at night annoyingly disturbing my sleep, and every once in a while they occur during the day.
Yes, these symptoms do end up returning, and it would happen every once in a while. Although, just very recently I've been experiencing these symptoms more frequently, like this week I've been dealing with feeling like my heart dropped to my stomach, nervous stomach feeling, trembling, either I'm close to or am already hyperventilating, and I keep feeling like something is really not right. I've never told anyone about this yet because I've been silent about it, mostly because I don't know whether one would understand, and it's a bit hard to explain.
Lately, I've been taking a calendar and recording when my most recent panic attack symptoms have reoccurred, and everytime they occur I just write down when it happens.
Although, during the day, I've been finding myself zoning out of reality being stuck in my own thoughts, ending up being thoughts of my phobias or any kind of anxious or triggering thought. Sometimes I get so caught up in them that I find my emotions getting out of control, and I feel like I'm having some sort of emotional breakdown, or I just end up being unsettled the rest of the day.
I know I'm a bit silent about all this like I said earlier, because people change overtime and the symptoms of panic attacks reoccurring 3 days in a row so far this week, I don't know if I should start actually telling someone or not, and how soon I should because absolutely no one except for me knows about them and is aware of them.

Ive been working out for well over 2 years now, and I love it. However, I think i may have body dysmorphia. I started out very skinny and was bullied about it in highschool. So after bulking and short cuts throughout my training im at a healthy weight now. I want to lose some of the extra body fat i have now but im scared to do so because i dont want to be skinny again. i know i wont look how i did before but i get anxious about it. And when i get ready to go to the gym I get anxious that people are judging me, thinking that i gained too much weight, that im still as scrawny as i was two years ago, or that i havent made enough progress. I still end up going because once im there i genuinely do love it, but its the preparing to go that sparks that intense fear and anxiety. Im not sure if what ive experienced are panic attacks and i dont like saying i have a mental illness since a couple of years ago i was diagnosed with clinical or major depression. Thats an old chapter of my life but my main question is, When i experience those intense bouts of fear, anxiety, losing touch of reality, and similar emotions am i experiencing a panic attack? or is it just plain anxiety?

My breaking point was when I had a panic attack in the middle of a college class exam. The teacher understood and was worried, even brought me to a person to speak to till I calmed down.
My panic attacks happen any timeeven during sleep (Im going through one rn trying to understand my panic disorder better as well.
They happen for me by shortness of breath, clammy skin, and rapid heartbeat before getting even worse. My first thought is heart attack before I remember how young I am. Then my panic attack gets worse. Nausea comes in, I get EXTREMELY shaky. Then crying comes in.
My crying tends to start from embarrassment before it really settles to my anxiety, shitty bully voice that makes things worse, and just looming dread.
I officially got diagnosed with anxiety, panic disorder, and depression last year after I started therapy. Its been helpful but I do need medication again soon as my attacks are coming back more frequently.

I have panic attacks daily now. Im either extremely anxious or extremely irritable, and feel super drained once those feelings pass, these are the two main emotions I experience constantly. I can cycle between all 3 of these multiple times a day and its seriously exhausting. Ive always been an anxious person but it seems to get worse with age. Ive had to tweak my medications many times and am now taking Paxil. Im not sure if I have panic disorder but it sure is starting to seem like it. Ive been diagnosed with generalized anxiety and adjustment disorder but the worse my anxiety gets the more I think it might be panic disorder. I know Im not alone in this but it certainly feels like I am most of the time, being the most anxious person in the room most of the time sucks. Everyone else seems to hold it together so well.

My first one rolled over me at the age of 8. I had no idea what happened. I wish I could write that it was the only one and I lived happily ever after. Like the first domino, it set off a childhood and teenage years of more and more panic attacks. A few months before I turned 19, I couldn't take it anymore and crashed. For about one year, I didn't meet anyone except for my parents. On the very last moment help came and I managed to get out and lead a fulfilling life with a family and work for big companies. I wrote a book, royalties donated, about this journey to help others in a similar situation. The book is called The boy with the cheap running shoes and is available with the biggest online retailer.

I had a panic attack once. It was when I got really scared of getting yelled at by my superiors since I know they can be harsh. I messed something up and then the thoughts started flowing in. And that's when I realize that I feel I was gonna faint. I hear ringing and muffled sound, everything was going white, my heart pounded fast. That's when I thought that I should control my breathing or else I might faint. It was hard to control my breathing, it felt like no air was coming in to my lungs. But still I tried to control my breathing and a few moments later, I felt everything going back to normal. That was unexpected for me.

anytime i focus on death and how terrified of it i am, that's usually what causes my attacks. i end up hyperventilating and spasming around, i usually burst into tears almost instantly and start screaming in a fear response but its more like garbled noises because of everything else. the other awful part is where everything starts ringing and blending together. its like being flashbanged and tazed at the same time. being terrified of the one thing in life you can not face till the end is an absolute life ruiner. especially since i have to do it alone every single time.

Even tho this video is a bit older I want to share my experience. I had a few panic attacks in the last 2-3 months. Some lasted for up to 30 minutes and it felt like the whole world was dying. What helps me thru these very intense attacks when I'm alone is shutting off all electronic devices except for my phone and going outside (not to far from home. My dog also helped me realize I'm not completely alone. For smaller ones it's often enough if I text or call a friend and tell them about it or if it's to much just tell them I'm not feeling good.

Proper diagnosis is always important. It took a long time for a doctor to finally diagnose me with a panic disorder with agoraphobia. I was always told I had GAD or social anxiety. But now that I know, I can face my problems and come up with real solutions. You CAN get better. It may still be life-long, but it won't prevent you from living your life! While I still cannot travel long distances, I can go and live my life without daily preparing for a seemingly inevitable panic attack. Never give up!

I think a lot of people don't realize that they are having/had panic attacks until they hear about the symptoms of a panic attack, or are told what a panic attack is. This actually happened to me. I was hyperventilating and felt like I was going to throw up to the point where I would start to cry. At first, I thought it was because I was on my period, but then a few hours after it happened for the first time, I looked at the symptoms of a panic attack and realized that it was a panic attack.

Yes I have a panic disorder, but it does not control my life completely, I have learned that talking about it with people really helped me, I just struggle when I'm triggered with no warning because once an episode happens it's a total feeling of doom and knowing I won't be able to do much after because of the extreme fatigue afterwards, it can take a couple of days to recover from it. The best thing I ever did was accepting this disorder and accepting it's just a part of me.

I got consent nocturnal panic attacks every night during the lockdowns. They lasted hours until I fell asleep. I didnt feel particularly anxious about the pandemic directly though so it was strange. I couldnt watch any thrillers, horror or drama tv shows in case it set me off. I didnt drink alcohol or caffeine. Although my panic attacks have thankfully stopped every night, the anxiety is still present.

can you tell if I'm having panic attack! for last 1. 5 yr I am having these symptoms every single day like heavy breathing, crying non stop, crazy heartbeat and shivering, hot flashes, lump in throat altogether at once, in a public place or in bus, sometimes at night. In public place I cannot stop myself so I try to hide myself with glasses and mask. This is really bothering me.

I dunno if it's connected to a panic attack. I often experience these like I was going to bed stressing out about something and that makes me feel like I've been in a cold room or something. After that, I fell asleep and then experienced shortness of breath. That one makes me awake from being asleep and then I'm shaking after waking up from that situation.

I was recently diagnosed with Anxiety. I haven't been told it's was panic disorder but all these symptoms she talked about are what I've had. I always feel good then out of no where for no reason I will get light headed, cold, nauseated, hard to breath, heart racing, palpitations, numb and hyperventilation.
