My mother is a diagnosed sociopath, and while there are major problems that the disorder causes we still have a grat relationship. The main way her problems manifest is that she will shout and yell when perceiving adversity, unaware of how it affects those shes shouting at, which included me when I wasnt doing well in school.
An important thing to note is that she at no point intended harm, it is simply a natural reaction that she learned was acceptable through her military service. Shes very receptive to being called out, and has worked on improving toxic behaviors when they're pointed out, but has a limited ability to self reflect on those actions and realize she was in the wrong. Admittedly, this is made worse by my general avoidance of conflict, which can make the situation worse as I have trouble bringing up the courage to point out the problems in the moment.
Despite these problems, she still makes an active attempt to spend time with my brother and I and actively avoids any harmful behaviors. We still have a close connection, even if there are complications attached. Shes trying her best, and considering everything shes had to go through, shes doing a damn fine job of it.

My friends think Im a sociopath, I dont follow up with any of these.
I plan everything in my head, everything.
I lack remorse or empathy for anything, Im working on it.

Im kind of to careless, I used to be depressed everyone in my family was dead or dying, the world is ending and other problems I cant influence. So now Ive kind of just accept the fact the world is ending and just let lose. I dont care about much, sure I still love arguing but I dont know. I have a hard time telling if my jokes offended someone or in teasing them to much.

My dad is a narcissist and as a result I got to be an empath, which is easy pray to sociopaths, and so my dad as a friend which I just realized is a sociopath, but I thought he was just narcissistic, he used to mock me for hours, and it would feel like concern, but it is alll lies, I've become closed and broken, after a while he was board, so he wouldn't come to our house, until one time, that he did it to me again, but it was harder, because I knew what I was going through, that day I decided to leave the house, without money for food or shelter, only my clothes and a sleeping bag, after a sleepless day the city placed me in a nice hostel for the weekend, and they'll move me to the right place after the weekend end, I hope I'll be able to completely cure myself from the damage I suffered, 3 years it's been, 3 whole years

Im 28 and I have a sister who is 15 months younger than me. She is almost 27. She has been my best friend pretty much all of my life. Because of some recent events, I have come to realize shes a text-book sociopath. Because of the chronic manipulation and deception, Im not sure if I can have a relationship with her moving forward. This is heartbreaking for me and I feel like I am losing a part of me. But the way she treats me, our family, and those around her is unacceptable. I hope she can get the helps she needs to manage her disorder.

How do you call a person who is constantly aggressive, swears at you, shouts, destroys objects or to a degree lets his anger out on animals (by pulling the leash way too harshly? And somehow this person is always the victim and the fault lies always with the other person? Asking because I have someone like this in my life and after many years I am starting to think that I might be happier if I had reduced contact to them. I am getting high blood pressure just thinking about dealing with this person.

Better than most videos. Charming is definitely a stretch as it is subjective and not the case with many SPD's. Most persons can spot the insincerity. Psychopaths however are genuinely Charming at times. Torture is a psychopath trait, again not most. For instance, Psychopaths often feel shame which helps control their desires, eg. animal cruelty. Sociopaths generally do not have sadistic fantasies. Still, most shouldn't care for animals as they often neglect them.

Problem with watching these type of vids is you go away wondering who is, am I? .also it makes me more suspicious of the people around me, making me want to psychoanalyse everyone and every conversation, besides that. how can ANYONE know if the content providers are indeed what they are explaining (projection) and doesnt that make the viewer more likely to judge others with this knowledge and thus cementing the idea of becoming passively. narcissistic?

My mother is a narcissistic sociopath. I didnt know what it was growing up, but now that I'm older and wiser; it's fascinating to watch. Even when meeting people they don't know their brains are poking and prodding, trying to find an in. Seems every person they meet is a potential target for manipulation.

Not ironically I'm here because what started as a joke even something edgy and cringe, consciously, about me being a potential sociopath. little by little it starts to sound less like a joke and I'm scared XD

I've watched this so many times and I don't know what I am. I can empathize with people but I feel like I'm at war with two sides of myself. Day, night, night, day, the bit in between, I dream of violence but that's not who I want to be. I don't know what to do.
