I can speak confidently that these all are EXTREMELY helpful, they won't land you the guy/gal necessarily, but they DO go a LONG way.
With my current crush, I semi-frequently give her SUPER affordable gifts, and try to save the slightly bigger ones for holidays, and so far she's been very receptive of it. She tries to play cool with it, but one time when she was high as a kite she got EXTREMELY giddy over a gift I got her. Just be careful that you don't spend more than what you've got, and even if you can afford a ton, try to keep things simple. If it's something that's only a buck or so, then that's fine, just don't buy a bunch of $20-something dollar gifts (or more) if you two aren't dating yet. My crush (neighbor) & I WERE smiling at each other, & he was mirroring my, Is that you? look. Until I asked him for some help changing the bulbs in my ceiling light. Suddenly, he had to go out because it's after work, & told me to call the maintenance guys. Now, I don't feel so much like smiling at him anymore. And he hasn't been seen around at all anyway. When I do see him, am I supposed to just pretend I didnt feel wounded by that! And just keep smiling like some idiot? I don't want to dampen his mood. But that HURT! Thats interesting, the Triangle Technique lets you also observe emotions in the other persons face very actively. Maybe that is why the other person is wired to like it. Also it lets you better respond to those observed emotions.
