So my story with people is that, Im new in my current workplace and I had to work together with a woman who knew everybody already there. So she kept calling me her friend and hugged me for three weeks and one day she invited our boss and started to convince him in front of me that Im the worst worker there. Fortunately he didnt believe her and I still work there, but when a lot of people plot against you, there is no good way to handle that. I just asked the boss to put me together with another coworker and it sucks because I have to be in a different place but still better than letting her talking badly about me to my boss until he finally decides to kick me out. Honestly she deserves to be kicked out or at least to be moved to another place not me!

btw i feel its important to recognize that gossip isnt always a bad thing. i believe it has developed to have a negative connotation behind it, but it depends on what you are gossiping about. when you talk about people behind their back in a negative way it is seen as more icky for lack of a better word and people will most likely respect you less for it. however gossip can also be healthy it just depends on the manner in which you do it. as always though, be kind and respectful towards others!

3 ways to get others to respect you:
1) stay true to yourself
because people can see you for who you are, and thats one of the most beautiful things of people respecting you. especially being unapologetically LGBTQIA for example
2) practice self care and set boundaries
3) respect other people too when we respect ourselves and other people thatll bring a lot more respect to the table
this video was very helpful!

I might be abnormal because when someone apologizes allot more than normal I respect them more because I see them as someone whos very caring for others, but I do know someone whos overly polite and its really annoying because I can tell shes being fake because of how loud she is. Its like she wants the whole world to know shes a great person so she yells compliments so everyone can hear her and its embarrassing

I don't care who want to talk about me behind my back or gossip about me they not hurting me they think they're cool what they doing end of the day I don't like people so loud obnoxious and think about themselves all the time and talk down on people and insecure about themselves and I hate mix up love to argue with people for no reason and threaten people I rather cut those people off I don't need negative people about me

Respect is earned, not freely given. People also have to earn my trust, and no, I'm just going to be helpful and caring; I'm not a doormat. I will also not just respect, if your moral code disagrees with mine, we aren't friends. We can have a difference of opinion, but I won't tolerate being forced into situations or be pushed and ordered around.

I require nobody's respect. All I want is to be ignored. I do not even want anybody to respect me. For someone to truly respect me that person would have to know me. I want nobody to know me. Thus, no respect is necessary. However, one can be truly ignored and be unknown to all. I prefere anonymity to respect.

Hello! Uhm this is a weird request but what can i do to help my friend with depression or suicidal? But they did something to you and theres a feeling either the feeling of guilt or the feeling of anger. but it seems to be the way when i need to be sorry to her and it comes to the point where i blame myself.

Is someone cut off my conversation is a sign that I'm not respected? Some of my friends are high profile students on school. But when I have some conversation with them, someone usually cut it off and our topics is gone. Some of them are important things, some of them aren't. It's kinda annoying.

I got a question; is it better to wait a long time (one month-6 weeks) to tell some one you like them more than as a friend in person, or say it right away asap but in text? I believe I want to look them in the eyes when I do, but if I wait too long I might build up to it badly or overthink it?
reply

Someone needs to be a know-it-all. Without them, so many things can go wrong. For example, as kids, our moms would be the know-it-all. We always thought they are annoying for not letting us jump the fence, or climb the tree, but they WERE actually keeping us safe. Thank you.

Step one to making people respect you (without it being detrimental to your mental health) is to respect yourself. Faking it can work for a while but if you only care if others respect you and dont feel confident in your own skin itll only get you so far. You got this.
reply

another way to get people to respect you:
stop talking badly about yourself and remember to use kind words when talking about you. When you talk positive about yourself that shows that the person wants to respect you more, and its good for self worth

reply

I don't think there should be any worry about the need to be respected. if you are a genuine person, you will get respect. Above all you should have self respect. should be able to meet you eye to eye in front of the mirror at the end of the day
reply

#5: There are times I do respect, sometimes I feel that no one really does respect or acknowledge my thoughts, feelings, wants and needs
Yet I also learn that if I did one good thing I did, I cant expect something else in return

1 Stop overapologising. Whenever I apologise once, people pretend I didnt, so it sounds like I need to apologise a googolplex times.
3 Dont be a know-it-all. I just like to share what I know and my experiences.

I know this isn't related to the video but I have a question. Im friends with my crush and they said they're kinda loosing instrest In their partner so should I stick around? I can't stop thinking about them
reply

I agree with ALL of these! especially the first two, because boundaries are important. when you learn to say no, your yes becomes more meaningful. and when you apologize in context, it means more.

I think people respect a new set of characteristics now. This list includes traits related to having integrity, but it seems like people care less and less about that sort of thing these days
reply

Bruh I don't do anything of this to be disrespected by others! But I'm still disrespected by others! In most causes people disrespected you about your personality and social status.
reply

I love the fact that her voice gets ecstatic when the topic is about something good and her voice gets depressed when it's a problem this shows how much respect she has for others
reply

I would say Stand up for yourself too. I have been learning how to do that. it's so important that you don't let people just tell you what to do. especially in work situations

From Frozen 2 - If you feel stuck, numb, lost, unsure. .. Do The Next Right Thing. That's it. Get up and just Do The Next Right Thing. One at a time. It works pretty well.
