I may not fully understand what's it like to be autistic but I'll for damn sure at least _try_ to make my sister feel like she belongs. She's a person for god's sake! Everyone with autism is a person! Why does everyone have to act like they're not!

No matter if neurotypical or neurodivergent, what ALL children need is being treated as humans, and with kindness. And all children need their parent's attention, and all children need playtime together with their parents. that's what ALL children need, and I say this as an autistic person myself.
And by love towards an autistic child, I don't mean pressuring them into just acting like a neurotypical. Don't do that to your children please, you don't see autistic people forcing neurotypical children to act autistic, so don't do this to us, and to autistic children. If your kid is scared of the supermarket because it's loud in there, allow your kid to wear noise cancellers in the supermarket. If your kid is scared of the supermarket because the lights are too bright, then allow your child to wear sunglasses in the supermarket. If your child throws a tantrum because the tags are too scratchy, remove the tags, so the tags aren't itchy anymore! I for instance don't like hair in my face at ALL, which unfortunately makes my sail ears be visible, since I tuck my hair behind my ears.

No, sometimes i estrangulate people in my class for jokes and hahas, someone called Steph said oh it's because he has autism she also said that when some boy started a fight with me and i coulnd't escape so i fought, today in school a boy with autism harrased a girl, she was crying on the corner while the boy was being defended and being petted like a pet, sometimes i feel like i am the only one who knows this things
Autistic people act like 1 year old babies even when adults and also even when they start to deal with their autism fighting it
if you say that just shut up and go take a very deep dive in the ocean and never come back

I'm autistic, and it is sad seeing people using autistic as an insult. It almost makes me mad but i contain myself, as i am introverted and usually don't get in others' conversations for such reasons. Tho, ngl, its pretty not that hard living as autistic, at least for me, since i have a not so heavy impact from this condition. Even though, i hardly understand some people, but understand. something? About some of my friends. I just hardly contain impulses and suffer from social anxiety. It's not all bad though, I easily concentrate for long time in certain things, and apprehend really quickly some things: in my case, i've always been quite good in art, and i even have been gifted with the ability to understand relatively quickly to draw things

as a kid w/ asperger's (a form of autism, i hate the 'puzzle piece' symbol used by autism speaks and autism ni, as it symbolises that people with autism have a metaphorical puzzle piece missing, unlike the better infinite symbol. i can forgive autism ni as they likely are just following other autism groups' logos and genuinely care about autistic people. but i want autism speaks to be dragged down to the very depths of hell. they're known by the community as an autism hate group, who created the puzzle piece symbol. they have removed all sources pointing to them speaking of a cure to autism on their website, but you can still find articles mentioning it on news sites.

I took that one online test thing that exists and it told me I exhibit a ton of autistic traits and that I should see a professional about it. My mom, however, refuses to even let me do explain why I would want to get tested, always brushing me off with why would it matter anyway. The only problem with this is that I want security and not knowing if I am autistic with all the shit I get for it just kinda makes me anxious. What do I do

The number 5 is so true! A lot of people think that im good at math just because im autistic, and it makes very sad that im dont match these expctations, one day one person told me You were born with a problem because all autistic people are good at math, im not even joking, they really told me that, even if im not very good at math i know that i have other things that im good at, thx for making this video, it really helps

I got one we are not all good at art my family seems to think I should be able to learn art easily because of my being autistic. Yeah no I got 0 talent when it comes to art and I have tried for many years to improve only to learn how slow I am to learn really hurts me. Some people can improve a lot in two years i improved very little yeah some people seem to think my autism should make it so I am good at art.

One myth about Autism I've always hated is the one that it makes us all introverted. It's false. I'm very extroverted, my existence disproves the myth. But then again autism takes many forms, but it still seems like a ridiculous claim to me. There's nothing wrong with being introverted, and autism has many effects on our lives. But blaming introversion on autism just seems silly.

andrew wakefield also did some other really shitty things and infact lost his medical license because he nearly killed a couple of autistic children trying to find a diesease that had already been discovered (he was trying to find what he called autistic enterocolitis but the diesease which is actaully two is a combination of ehlers danlos syndrome and MCAS)

I feel like I have autism because often I repeat words when talking to someone, have feels if it's either on a holiday or celebration such as a wedding ceremony which happened last Sunday and had to witness the sudden burst of crying, but also I have a bit of a hard time to talk comfortably with someone and I'm anxious at some point.

I once had a fake friend who said her cousin had Autism and he didnt act like that. Unfortunately i had recently been diagnosed as autistic and didnt know much about it except that it made me different I didnt realize how much the stereotype/ generalization hurt until i was about 20

I'd like to see videos on ausistic shutdowns, meltdown, and burnout. As an ausistic person myself I'm just learning about these things after years of not knowing what they are. Having it in the form of short videos in your formula would be great for sharing with friends and family.

my therapist has recently suggested that i might be autistic, but my parents are denying it. im gona take a 'test' soon to prove if i do have autism or not, but im worried my parent wont treat me the same if i end up being on the spectrum. this is of great help. thank you, psych2go.

Everytime I try to tell my mom that I want to get tested for autism, because I truly believe I have autism, she yells at me saying YOU ARE NOT AUTISTIC THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU STOP ASKING. Can I have some tips or help to convince her to get me tested?

I am an autistic person. I often get labeled as high-functioning or less autistic in my school. These terms hurt me because I wonder if my friends would still hang out with me even if I stopped masking.
