Have your parents ever told you that you shouldnt do something, not because its actually bad, but because it doesnt make them look good? Many of the habits that you were made to think are bad can actually be good for you for a number of reasons. So here are a few habits. We also made another video on the good habits that are actually bad for you

3. No, dont bite your nails. I did it for years until (TMI) the nail tore off too much skin. Biting your toenails, though, improves flexibility. :P
5. Search on biphasic sleep. Not only is not letting your body sleep the hours it needs bad for you, but were not meant to sleep in a single period of eight hours. The eight hours, in fact, was a result of the Industrial Revolution, with electricity allowing us to be active at night, and the work environment promoting a continuous period of work. That said, mornings tend to be more productive than late nights, though that doesnt mean you have to wake up early in the morning!
6. Swearing saves you money, if the alternative is to throw the piece-of-crp computer out the window. (:
7. If youre thinking of having a pet and can have one, get one. Dogs are good as companions and exercise. Cats are hmm, lemme think of that. :D

Swearing is fine if it's used to actually express something. I know plenty of people who do it for shock value or excessively; I went through that phase myself. I had one job where language and expression was exactly the job--we were reprimanded for not conveying the precise words and tone exactly as the clients wished--so whenever someone apologizes about their language I honestly say, I've heard and said much worse! If every third word qualifies as foul language, it loses its effect and becomes just noise, so I try to choose my words carefully and encourage others to do the same.

My last bf used to fart loudly in public as a test of character (or so he said. He has strong narcissistic traits across the board so I take his words with a grain of salt. I rarely found it disgusting or embarrassing because I know it's better to let it out, though I usually try to be discreet about it in public. My current partner has gotten much more accepting of belching and farting in the last 5 years, which is good because one of his medications triggers terrible gas production for him. Everything is relative, and is only bad if overdone.

I disagree with the swearing part. When I was younger I was able to focus and work a lot better when I didnt do any swearing at all. When I was 15 (first started to swore) I became more stressed out and started to fail a lot more.
Now when Im 25 my swearing has lessened and its me a ton with the focus specially in video games, having friends who swear when they encounter stressful situations seems to just make the situation worse for themselves. Example being LoL, toxism = losing.

You don't fart as much if you stop eating like a raccoon. Processed foods, meat & dairy aren't as good for you as you've been lead to believe. Dont get me wrong, I'm not advocating for faux meats like beyond burgers or veggie dogs by any means. You can get everything your body needs to run optimally from plants. In fact, once you detoxify yourself of all the parasites you've got up in your gut- you won't even crave garbage food anymore.

I used to swear a lot my parents know I do but i dont swear around them out of respect. My friend had a huge issues with me cursing so I tried to change and eventually she started to nitpick everything i do. Talk about a controlling friend- i dont have as bad as a cursing habit now because im surrounded by positive light but theres times where im scared to curse too much because of that friend sucks yo

I was biting my nails since I was little. Ten or so years after, my teeth are devastated and hurt whenever I eat something, even though I brush my teeth as my dentist ever recommended. Maybe you help your immunity a little bit but you are destroying your teeth, so please stop biting your nails if you are doing it, it's not worth any miniscule benefit it may have.

Girl if you cant fart in front of him DONT MARRY HIM! I realized on the second week of my honeymoon that I had married the wrong one when I slipped wind and he scolded me for being disgusting. Granted I would have preferred to toot in private I am not responsible for my body doing whats natural. I divorced him in a year.

My parents always force me to take a shower everyday and a few months ago i staryed realizing my skin would become itchy whenever i did, and it was because i took a shower too much, i take a shower every other day and my skin feels so much more better, whenever my parents ask me if i showered i just lie to them lol

my last days at a day program I quit I protested and part of that protest was cussing. When I actually felt like harming someone and it was getting out of my control I just terminated myself from that job. I may have said something at the mental hospital that wasn't protected speech and they extended my stay.

I know this might not be related to the whole topic of this video but I love this cartoon style. I geniuly love the characters and how they look. They are so cute and do really help get the point across that you guys are trying to explain. These little cartoons do bring some happiness into my life.

The research on swearing that you mentioned only tries to argue that there is a relationship between swearing and honesty. Correlation doesnt imply causation. If you start swearing it doesnt mean youll become more honest. This how can you say swearing is a good habit? Your conclusion is flawed.
reply

yes swearing in a form of outburst releases tension, eases pain, and does all sorts of good things. There's also no need to inject a swear word into sentences habitually just for the sake of it. I tend to treat it like a painkiller: use it when you need it, don't when you, well, don't need it.
reply

i slightly disagree with number 6. I think the swearing you're referring to is basically letting out pent up emotions, with swear words usually associate with it. Instead of using swear words, you should just grunt or use less spicy words as to not make using swear words a habit.

Regarding the last habit, is it swearing itself or exclamations in general that have these benefits? I prefer to say freak, heck, crap, jerk, idiot, etc. Instead of the exclamations people typically refer to as swears. Does this have the same effect?
reply

I- I'm actually bitting my nails becouse I just can't control it, it just heppens.
ps. who saw Rambo in skipping shower part don't cheat. If you do please be honest and just say at first no but when i checked yes or something like that

Swearing isn't good if you do it all the time though. You'll end up wearing out it's effect, then it becomes bad for us. It's better to leave swearing only for certain occasions, but refraining from doing it constantly.

My therapist told me to keep sour candies in my bag at school and public places I honestly forgot why I think it was to make me almost shocked out of my anxiety but if anyones knows can you tell me please

I know for a fact that swearing definitely would give emotional benefits as I have barely ever sworn before and my emotions feel constantly suppressed because of this.

Interesting about the sleeping in part. I guess this why you should have a regular sleeping time and waking time to stay consistent with your circadian rythm
