Are old souls tired?
No.
On the contrary, old souls are toughened up, and don't need the support that younger souls do in many stages of life, because they've done this reincarnation business a couple hundred thousand times. To them, a lot of human stuff seems banal. Too easy!
The older your soul is, the more lessons you've learned. The more wise you are. The more radiant and pure you become. And the closer to the Divine Source of creation you'll move.
Old souls actually look eternally young to the human eye. Notice how some people around you just never seem to age? That's an old soul!
And the people that are wiser than their age, who you can always go to for 'sage advice'? Too are old souls.
So no, they're not physically or mentally tired.
But they can be energetically depleted. Because old souls have greater capacities to love and forgive. There is a lot of unconditional work for them to do.
Initially when you're in amnesia and don't realize your power, you feel bad that people don't love you back. You waste several years on people trying to find your worth through their love for you.
But once an old soul has awoken from their amnesia, which we call as Spiritual Awakening, there's a tremendous leap of growth and energy.
And hence, you can't really call old souls tired. Just coming back to their true sense of self: )
EDIT: I do think that the old soul label takes us further away from our truth, if we buy into it too much. Ive had the unfortunate experience of seeing friends who constantly judged their parents and loved ones for being young soul.
Ive addressed this and other ideas in a relevant article, and thought Id add this as a resource for further insights:

Well, if these 6 traits makes me an old soul, I couldn't care less about being weird. Ppl bullied me a lot as a child, as I preferred talking to adults, especially the elders, read, and be in nature every day. Rather alone, I'm getting tired of social situations, even with close friends who's in my Tribe. And I'm glad to see the same traits in my kids (all 6) (even though my eldest is more like me, my other son is the center of aby party, gets friends real easily, and are comfortable in those situations with others - and that's ok, too - they are a huge support to each other, and me, I'm proud of my young adult men. To have these traits has actually made it easy for me to be a mom, to give my kids good advice (without pushing or demand anything, or expect something from them that I shouldn't, and be there for them through they're hardships and challenges in life. Also to find, and share, joy and happiness in a world that's gotten more and more rotten and unfair. It is a huge resource for me to have these traits, it has helped me so much in this day and age, and to just to stay sane in an insane world, whilst bringing up two ppl. It's hard as anything, but so worth it to see, and to celebrate, the good traits forming and evolving around honesty, empathy, compassion, love, devotion and consistancy in those areas. I find that when having these 6 traits, it won't be so hard being a happy, content, introverted empath in this world.

Back in middle school, it was always hard have casual conversation, I always enjoyed talking about the mind of people and society. But since a lot of kids my age talked about gossip or the newest trends, it was my go to to talk to their teachers and adults. On field trips, it was always me in the back chatting to our chaperone about the whats and whys things, things that others couldnt/wouldnt talk about.
I only have a chosen few of close friends, but still is hard to open up with these kind of conversations as its still very different to what they talk about. Shopping trips with them was more me just going around with them and looking at stuff while they went and bought whatever they wanted, i had money to spend, but nothing really caught my interest. When going out to eat, about 80% of it is me listening to their stories or conversation, painting the picture in my head, observing how they are feeling. One of the few hates getting interrupted or spoken over, so when it happens, I give them all my attention for them.
Even with amazing people around me, giving me nothing but kindness and care, I feel like I havent found my tribe yet. I hope you find yours

I am 15 and I believe that I am no doubt an old soul. I have always been more mature for my age group and I have always done well in school and wish to know more. When teenagers are having a conversation around me, I have no idea what they are talking about most of the time. I don't have any close friends my age because I can't relate to them, but my family is my world. I tend to keep most of my feelings to myself and I am not too social of a person. But when I am, I would much rather hang out with old people than anyone my own age. I love listening to their stories and I have a deep down longing to live in a different time period. I have a phone but I don't hardly use it because I don't see the point. I watch TV shows that are at least 60 years old, listen to music that no one else my age has heard of and absolutely love old cars. I also get up at 5am every day just because and I am in bed by 8pm. Things that I enjoy in my free time are sewing, quilting, reading and working. Sometimes I do feel lonely and wish to have someone like myself to be with, however I do like the way I am and I am happy to be different and have an old soul.

I am mentally old and emotionally young. There isn't a group that feels 100% right with me. I hang out with teens pretty often but may internally judge their unwise decisions due to my experience, while not believing elders completely because they don't tend to understand the hardships of the younger generation. In a class, my mind wants to focus on learning when teens feel like goofing off so I'm more like the old soul then. But when I have my parents judging me, I deserve to have my fun, no matter how childish my hobbies and likes are. Life is too short for me to not do what I like just because I'll be judged for it. By that, I mean superficial things like my dad saying I shouldn't buy yogurt bars because they're for kids. They're only 100 calories with other smart eating qualities so I'm actually adulting.

I am a strange one for sure, i look a lot younger for my age, i am 31 but look like i could be 16 or 17, but i my mind is fixed roughly in the 1940s / 1960s, for as long as i can remember I've naturally gravitated towards a time way before i was born, it's hard going in this modern era, i can't quite fit in, i just exist but not present, interestingly i have an easy time to find the tone with what i call my peers, they're in their late 60s to well in their 80s, i enjoy going to cafes for that reason that's where you'll find them, there is a connection, but as for my actual peers i don't get any recognition, nothing, it's impossible to connect with them, i suffer from a lot of depression as a result, being stuck in a timeline that i can't relate to or fit in at all.

I can relate to this.
I've always felt different and left when with people my age. For example, at school I almost got along better with my teachers than with other students. All my closest friends are older than me.
I value time alone and I hate being with big crowds of people. I almost never go out and instead prefer staying at home with a film. To be fair, I think my best friends are my animals. I value my close and small circle of friends, I've never been that popular girl with tons of contacts.
I'm very philosophical and love trying to understand the psychology behind people's behaviour. I hate small talk and prefer deep conversations.

My grandparents always told me I am an old soul and back then I never understood what that meant. When I work at restaurants I find myself only becoming close to the older people I work with and everyone around me always says Im random or I think to much or Im a philosophical person. It funny because Ive known this all along but just couldnt put the word to it when they would say these things. I just tell them I find comfort in thinking deeply into things and learning and growing my maturity and understanding of the world.

this is so me, and i would not want anything else. i love being by myself, i like reading books, knitting, staying in on friday and saturday nights watching movies & drinking tea. I love music, litterature, history, and i have always felt as if i bond the best with older people. i love intensely and i am very passionate, which makes it difficult for me to make small talk when i just want to talk about deep things. im 17 btw: )

I feel like an old soul but I definately like beautiful things. Not for their monetary or brag-friendly value but because they create a sense of harmony and joy. I can fall in love with a beautiful painting because it makes me feel a certain way. I can buy a funny pen because it makes me laugh. And I can buy a quirky handbag because it completes the quirkiness inside me

I've always felt I've had an old soul.
Adults understood me more than my peers, I was kinda avoided as a kid by my peers.
I was told by those that did talk to me that I give decent/good advice and one even said word for word oh god, you have an old soul and laughed about it.
I would say I do. but the beauty on something like this is it's all perspective

My mom always told me I had an old soul, and then I got insecure about it because people said I was too deep, and weird. But right now I dont really care, Im a little awkward and I guess I know now that Im an old soul, but I like not having a lot of shopping trips, or cuddling with a book. So Id think of having an old soul as a blessing in some way.

Do you want to have the latest iPhone? Then you're NOT an old soul! Hahah
Yeah I maintain few friends, I usually delete classmates, schoolmates and officemates in FB if we're not super close. Even relatives that are not that close to me I unfriended. I like to keep my Fb friends to less than 100.
glad to know I'm an Old soul

Is there such thing as young soul or is that just immaturity? I would like to see that more positively. I feel I connect better with younger people (3 or 4 yrs difference, but I also have good emotional maturity and give good advice to all ages. Dont know if theres a way to define that more.

I think this describes my sister very well. She is only 10 currently but has always been very emotionally mature and observational. She spends a lot of her free time reading or drawing by herself and I think she uses that time to reflect as well. I hope she can find her tribe at school.

People keep telling me that I'm a nice person, I'm smart, and that they enjoy being around me. why can't I see these qualities in myself? In my mind I'm dumb as a box of rocks, I hate everyone equally, and most of the time I would rather be by myself than surrounded by people.

13, many people including adults have pointed out that when they talk to me they feel like they are talking to a older person. furthermore ive given some people mental health advices before and they usually end up thanking me for showing them a new perspective.

When I was young, I was an old soul. At least that's what I was repeatedly told.
However as I age people are telling me they think im younger now. So maybe I'm a middle aged soul?
