Narcissistic Personality Disorder, otherwise known as NPD is a personality disorder characterized by grandiosity. We may see it in people who have inflated self-esteem with little regard for others. It is important to note that NPD is a psychiatric condition and is more complex than simply being arrogant. The condition causes much distress to the people with it and to the people around them. I am an survivor of NPD partner, few things I want to share here -
What i observed is its not NPD whom we should be correcting, its other way. The sufferer is the problem. Sufferer has problems with his emotional stability and thats the reason why a narcissist continuous their drama. Sufferer has to rebook into his emotional structure
Basically an NPD are nothing but a cat covered in tiger skin.
- is he/she expecting too much from the person and are not in a position to say no?
- are they in a position to emotionally react so that an NPD is taking advantage of?
- do they have fears within them? What kind of fears that an NPD is trying to take advantage of?
- are they weak enough to tske critisisam?
- Cant they live with them yet be positive?
- are they making them too strong with their behaviours?
We need more inputs on improving self worth, confidence and outlook to get themselves betters.
I realised these areas and worked upon them for past 4 yrs and successfully was able to slowly reduce each of their traits and made them feel small and come to reality. Most of time I self doubt or expect them to understand which has created problem but instead if you imagine yourself as a parent to NPD and treat them with orders and stop giving them the food they will fall back like a small baby! Its hard but it works or Atleast get them in control yo 70%.
Narcissist is there everywhere in the world we cant choose to flight every time from them. We have to learn to fight them with emotions. Its a power everyone has and they lack. Show them how incapable they are in understanding emotions, show them their imperfections, dont praise them, bear their gas lighting and show them how strong you are! Let them use all techniques and you come out clean. I believe it you are encountered with an narcissist that means god gave us an opportunity to become better of ourselves and become more stronger in life, they are the pawns used by god for a great success. Hope this helps and one should have belief this will work.

I think I am a narcissist. I feel although I am different from others and I tend to have a high ego. I love to get compliments and I miss my popularity era. I am no longer able to be as empathic, I can read people but I cannot really feel them. At least not anymore. I am not scared to say I dont care. I've been called out for victimizing myself. I hate being controlled by people. I envy people alot its almost aggressive, I often cant feel happy for them. I also have lots of traits of BPD (saying just bc it has an increased risk to NPD. I can't let go of some people, I cope by acting childlike, I have ED thoughts BUT ive become health concious so I am scared to hurt my body because of the future. I would only hurt myself for others to see my discomfort, I never actually blamed myself I think. I have threatened to kill myself and such. Am I a narc?

I knew someone with NPD. He lived his life as a lie. He told us he has met with the president, he has connection with important people and have friends in high places. He say one thing but meant another. He told a lie that sounded like a lie at first and after a few times his same lie started to sound believable because he looked confident (he wasn't at first. Somehow we knew he lied, on many occasions but we didn't have the heart to say it to his face. We didn't know he had NPD until he passed away. And after he passed away, we also found out that he cheated on his wife with 2 other women. The two other women told a different story about him. Means he had lived his life with many personalities.

Im 14 years old, going on 15 next month. I have been diagnosed time and time again with illnesses or disorders that I barely even relate to, just to check it off the list. Recently, the topic of NPD has come to the table among my medical team. I know I tend to be self-absorbed, I know I lack empathy, and I know that Im different in my cognitive process. However, Im still a teenager on the fairly younger side. Im still growing and I think it isnt fully fair to weigh a topic as major as this. Its stressful being treating like youre some kind of test subject, an enigma whos sole purpose is to be figured out. Personality disorders dont fully develop until adulthood. Labels are getting out of hand.

Look upon it as a gift and use it's outward presentation in environments where it moves you forward and or is helpful to others. All traits are part of human diversity meant to ensure survival of the species, and provide extremes of diverse behavior interactions for normal? People. Narcissists defend others and fight wars very well while others who are predisposed to the flight-response benefit greatly from these traits in others. Professional diagnosis needs to cease fixing mild cases that are not physically harmful to others. If mild case individuals bother you that much, you may be the one who needs fixed. How does that feel hmm?

I'm the type of person who feel superior than others that I outperform them and that they can never get in my level I also don't like being out performed but I don't put others down and I really don't act out loud I just keep them in my mind I also don't like attention because I'm introverted lol I can accept critism good or bad, specially now that I might have misspelled the word lol, I can also look to other's perspective and feel empathy however I'm not courage enough to act I would only feel sad but I feel like not doing anything or able to do anything at all.
So am I one?

I'm getting diagnosed most likely in January, and it's because I wanted to. Which is weird, because narcissists don't want to get diagnosed and it's their family that usually brings them to the psychiatrist, right? For me, I want to get diagnosed to be able to put a label on myself. It's like a badge to me, and it makes me feel more interesting than everyone else. I don't want help, I like myself. But I want a diagnosis, just to be able to tell everyone that I have NPD, which will get me instant attention. It sucks.

Every time I listen to this video it makes me angry I was abused by a covert narcissist my whole life had no idea what it was until I was 49 years old these people enjoy being evil these people will not seek help because they do not believe anything is wrong with them they are perfect just ask them meanwhile they go along the way of life destroying people hurting people damaging people I dont feel a bit sorry for these people at all weve all had rough lives we dont go around hurting people

Having toxic traits versus having NPD. what's the difference? I honestly wouldn't have considered myself narcissistic by any means in my earlier 20's, but I do feel like because of my low self-esteem and other issues with emotional regulation and perfectionism, I could possibly say that parts of me were indeed toxic. I'm not a fan of self-judgment or any labels that make me feel less human. I just feel as if there are a lot of similarities in these two different diagnoses.

I have npd. It was so bad that I denied I had it even though my wife begged me to get help even though subconsciously I knew she was right. I pushed her away and have no one to blame but myself. It feels like there are barriers in the way that block all logic when it comes to acknowledging when I've made a mistake.
If you think there's a chance you have npd, please for the love of God, get help. You'll be left all alone because you didn't help yourself.

This view is a HIGHLY 'optimistic' view of those with NPD.
The 'carnage' that they can bring to others can push the boundaries of reality.
The likely hood of those with the condition actually seeking help / accepting that they may have the condition will be low as they'll feel that they aren't the 'issue' is with everyone else and not them.
This is a very serious condition (especially to those who are unfortunate enough to be caught in its wake.

have you ever been talking with someone and mid flow in to talking with them
they cut you up and ruddly say something along the lines of enough of that listen to this thats a indication your talking
with a narcissit normal people dont do this becuase what you have to say is of no interested to them
but by you placing your attention upon what they have to say they get supply from it every one who interacts with a narc is noting but food to them

It's belongs to our past karma what we did in past it makes our present that call karma. Stubborn behavior or mood or ego in behavior makes that person like harder so people call them narcissist. God said it's lack of good behavior like be kind be honest be truthful be grateful obey souls respect souls respect rules respect nature respect women except everything happened in life somereason then people and nature coprate with love.

what I learned is you Told a lie. far more women have narcissistic personality disorder than men. And the majority are taught this through our society today. 60 to 70% Of women have this disorder. me me society. I should come 1st if something goes wrong it's not my fault. And men should give me everything because I'm a princess. I'm Ode something. I'm beautiful and all men want me.
reply

This is not a real disorder! Narcissism is a normal psychological feeling that comes naturally from being better than other people. When someone better they need to feel that or theyll feel like shit. If anyone tries to talk against a person whose higher up I will defend them and you will lose. Haters best be ready to lose by dark fire.

I have to say that is not that usual to want validation as not all the people NPD need it. That being said NPD can be diagnosed as its own or is usual to have it plus other few traits. Ive seen other videos that ofc differ a lot from this one. If you are insecure if you have NPD please just look for a psychologist or psychiatrist

Being a narcissist myself is like trying to escape from the reprisal/perspective of the others. I tend not to listen to their opinions, having an uncontrollable emotions, and worst is that I tend to lie and twist the subject. I'm still struggling but at least I've acknowledged my lacking, hoping for an improvement.
reply

I've read that this coincides with ASPD as I struggle immensely with even looking anyone in the eyes and give off this smug vibe like I am someone when not. I need someone to notice me or start talking to me and even then I try and avoid anything deep. Man im fkd up lol
reply

Whats super messed up is how there are practically cults surrounded around hating these people. The prevailing information on the matter should be about treatment but in our culture its still about condemnation, even much of the left is very behind on this.
reply

This is an easy take on the disorder from a psychology perspective. NPD is in the same camp as psychopathy, actually. The disorder cannot be treated and it is hereditary. There's much more to the disorder than just having a flu.
