Resolve Conflicts: Haven't been in the relationship long enough to see this play out, but I'm very confident we can do this well. We're content with doing virtually whatever we want, and our mutual indecision makes disagreements few, far between, and easy to resolve. However, my gf is ex-friends with one of my two closest friend groups, and I know that will inevitably need to be resolved.
Compromise: We've nailed this flawlessly so far. We always split bills on dates and alternate between our friend circles in lunch. Will probably be put to the test by the aforementioned friend politics, but I think we have the right mindset to handle this.
Unconditional Love: My family and I believe in a concept of conditional love with very small conditions (just don't be an evil person. In practice, it's basically unconditional love with common sense, so I consider this a success.
Trust Each Other: Besides trusting each other to keep up the fundamentals of a relationship (ex. showing up to dates, not cheating on each other, etc, which we have a perfect track record, there aren't many times where this is even a factor. We're still high school sweethearts, and neither of us or our families are in desperate need of support. I guess trusting each other's driving also counts?
Be Kind: We sometimes tease each other, but at the end of the day we're both just cuddle bugs!
Seek Comfort: Again, we're just cuddle bugs! Besides literally, this hasn't really been put to the test yet - nothing extremely overwhelming has happened to either of us yet.
Independent: We're both extremely content with doing whatever, and this often leads to a lot of indecision. Think situations like this: Where do you want to sit? Wherever you want to sit I don't care Me neither. Besides this cute little loop that a friend usually has to break, we can both be extremely decisive when needed.

So I have an interest in a friend but she has no interest in dating at the moment but we play video games together, talk on the phone, tease each other and whatnot but we're in two different places. She likes being independent and doing her own thing. She says she doesn't really talk to people much but she's always messaging me be it for a couple days or we don't talk to each other for a few days and then message each other like nothing happened. I think she's a splendid person even though we can't really meet. We don't really have a bunch of conflict but we sure don't agree 100% on everything however we refuse to let that alter how we see the other person because we know that overall we care for each other (she tends to tell me I'm a great guy when I don't really feel like it and this conflicts internally because I have a hard time accepting positive things but I am so grateful for her regardless because I don't feel threatened by her)

I'm Fonn and posting on his phone. He is my friend. He was my lover for 12 ys. He makes me feel secure, but I put him in the friend zone because of his obsessive, possessive jealousy. Hes a shy guy and I'm a singer/musician. Never shall the Twain shall meet. I'm learning to go do my gigs while he weeps and wails(fill in the blanks. hes so insecure he wont even go with me to be my bodyguard! He wants me to be close to him but because of all his negativity and criticisms I've had to get my own apt. and set up boundaries. Romantic relationships dont always work, especially with sad-sackers.

My gf is going thru major changes in life and we're in an LDR. She says she's socially drained n can't talk and sometimes talks to me but that too in an uneven way where she ends the convo abruptly with a reason like she's too tired, or has some work.
We had a few fights regarding these but she doesn't seem to make compromises on her part and her tone is dull(as if uninterested) talking to me.
She's also making new frnds. Should I be worried she's losing interest in me? Or might cheat on me? Or is it just a phase. I'm worried

I agree with everything in this video, but I do think that the term unconditional love is maybe a bit too broad o: because my love is very conditional for my partner and the conditions are that they treat me with respect and put in effort for me as I do for them. I believe only children get to receive unconditional love as they owe their parents nothing and never asked to be put on this Earth c: my two cents. Great video otherwise!

This seems like sound advice overall. If it wasn't said clearly in the video, these things should come pretty naturally. Relationships do take effort, but if these things come easily for both people, it's a good sign.
In my experience, if both people are kind to each other and care about each other because they feel that way naturally, nothing will ever get in the way of the relationship.

Just saying I read in a book about relationships it said in the book if both partners had any kind of addictions also even if one of the partners had an addiction in the relationship this relationship would never last my guess would because the relationship would be TOXIC and not a Healthy Relationship INIT just saying.

Theres a girl I know who I feel like my friendship with her meets all of these. Im not certain whether she finds comfort in it quite like I do but the rest of them apply at least. Its not really in the cards right now, but I really hope I can move the relationship closer in the future.

watching this, ive been in way too many unhealthy and downright toxic relationships, mainly because i was very young and so were my partners
but now, finally, after working on myself and maturing mentally, ive been dating the best and healthiest partner ive ever had for over a year now!

reply

#1 should have been, it was founded in the mid 20th century. Today, your chances of a successful relationship are near nil, unless it is a relationship of an enemy and their tormented victim. Those almost always work out. Even friendships do not work anymore. Why even try?
reply

Healthy relationships takes both partners to work towards this to be a team, to be Lovers and to be best friends. Understanding, respect, kindness, caring sharing, a Good Healthy Relationship is possible as long as both partners want to make work and last.

I do really appreciate my relationship when watching these videos, i feel we check all the marks But I do struggle a bit with building self-love and not seeking validation from my partner or friends Could you make a video touching on the subject?
reply

Lol. Recent break up
Related with no signs instead it was the opposite of whatever these signs are.
Turns out it was a narcissistic abusive relationship. Didn't even know what that was until recently.

psych2go not sure whether you can do a video on unconditional love please? A lot of people misunderstood the term unconditional, and can cause abusive relationship. Thanks!
