I already know that I have body image issues. just watching these videos though is confirming this for me. I am so obsessed with how I look, and certain features that I want to the point that I wont eat as much for lunch or just will only get one small serving of food for a meal. it has even got to the point where I criticize younger me for not eating healthier or eating too much. When I was younger I was pretty skinny, had a thigh gap, skinny legs and skinny arms. now that I am older I wish that is still had all these features. I look at other people with the features that I want and compare them to me. This constant comparison makes me feel jealous and feel like Im a glutton or something. like Im doing something wrong even though I have been basically starving myself and doing exercises only for me to still not have me desired features.
sorry just venting!

I have suffered from negative body image from age of 12 which continues well into adulthood. My mind literally keeps chanting what's the point of living when you are not pretty. The worst part is that you do realize that judging yourself based on your appearance is wrong but you can't get this annoying feeling out of your head. I sometimes feel like only beautiful people are the ones leading happy lives. I mean isn't it correlated in most cases? Like when you're confident about your appearance you do everything with confidence hence, succeed in them. But when you're already conscious about every single part of your body, you can't do a thing with confidence hence you miss opportunities that can make your life better because you isolate yourself and are ashamed to go out in public because when you do go out, you see that everyone in the world is pretty but you!

I have spent 30 years battling with my body. How life would be so much better with out this issue. Ive tried everything, endless therapy, personal growth, medication, spiritual avenues, christianity, prayers, detox, obsessive exercise and no matter what I've done I still don't feel happy in my body. It is so frustrating because if I surrender it doesn't help. It is. Vicious cycle. I get frustrated so I binge eat because I think what Is the point. I literally have tried everything. If there was a magic pill I would take it. What does one do when there is no hope? Only to spend the rest of my life battling with it until the day comes to pass. You would think that knowing that would be enough to stop and accept but sadly it's not. I wonder how life would be if there were no importance in body shape, size or how we feel and it was completely none existent.

Ive struggled with being skinny my whole life. It wasnt a big deal for me when I was younger but as I got older, I started comparing my body to others. And it has only gotten worse for me. Lately, its really been bothering me. Especially being in a relationship with a narcissist a few years ago and praising another girl for being thick knowing I have issues with gaining weight due to my fast metabolism. And that made me feel worse about myself. Thinking that I wasnt good enough if I wasnt thick. It felt like guys liked the girls in school who were thicker and didnt give a second thought to me when Im much more than my body type. And I also have issues when people talk about my weight. Even if it was a joke, Im not laughing. I find it offensive and triggering due self loathing of my body. But Im working on it.

I do struggle with body image a bit because one time when I was in 5th grade some kid made a comment saying how fat my legs were and how slim my waist was and it put me down a bit because I never really cared how I looked then but then I became so obsessed with how my legs look but not my waist cuz I thought skinny = prettier but tbh Ive learned to accept that all body types are unique and that u shouldnt compare urself to others but you know how the kid said that my legs looked fat they really arent they have a normal amount of fat but it doesnt matter how fat or slim you are because u are enough and u cant make ur self look good for others u make ur self fed good for u and if u dont like it u can look away cuz if u dont like how I look then there is probably something abt ur body that u dont like

Hey, i am wondering one lil thing. I always used to not ask for help and now when i do people say
you dont need any help, your probably just faking it!
since i had found a way to hide my sadness and struggles in for example school when i was younger becuse i felt as if i didnt need help. i saw others struggling with the simple mathbook while i was problem solving in the difficult ones and got stuck
you dont need help, she needs it more than you, why dont you just try more? that voice in my head is always there, if i get a 37/40 on a test i will immidiately ask
what did i do wrong? instead of beign happy i got so many right. The voice in my head is always craving perfection which i cant give, so even if i am better than average it will never be enough

my sibling is 9 years old and struggles with body image. 9. not even in the double digits. they check their stomach in the mirror excessively and works out excessively. they are upset because they checked their weight and gained 2 pounds, and they now think they are fat. they are super thin, and weigh literally 58 pounds. and im super worried. I try to talk to them but when i bring it up they tell me to shut up, or hit me. ever since they developed these issues, theyve had more of an attitude. they started paying attention to carbs and calories, etc. they say that theyre fat just bc their stomach sticks out. Im so scared and so worried, I dont want them to develop an eating disorder.

I've been suffering from it for several years. I hate myself to the point that it's hard for me to consider myself human. In junior high school, my friend kept telling me that I was ugly, and I believed it and still believe it. I can't look at myself. I thought once I started wearing makeup it would be better, but I find it hard to even look in the mirror. I see a monster, a nasty and deformed face, I want to punish myself for being so ugly, I feel like it would be better if I died, but even in the funeral parlor they will laugh at such an ugly face. I actually physically feel some parts of my face as something disturbing. It's terrible.

I related to every single point. This video in itself seems almost more like an eating disorder video entirely. As someone whose struggled with them since I was 14 (for 4 years) I can tell you this: it's something that never completely goes away. You may have points of time where you start to eat normal again, but that feeling of the control and the sadness and the voice never completely goes away. I find myself relapsing frequently. It's a lifelong disease for most. I would do anything just to be blind to my body and love myself even if only for a second.

These days I am struggling to find a parter. And it's not because I don't want to. I don't make any efforts to find one or I accept whoever comes first (even if I don't feel attracted. I know this is not fair for the person that goes out with me. I don't do it to be mean or bad. I just believe I am not good enough, or that I won't have another chance, or even that I will be unable to find a partner on my own. I know this is very unfair for the other person and it makes me feel worst. My body image is not really helping either.

I struggle with this but I'm trying to be confident in my own body. Especially young girls struggle with this but our body goes through so many things. Bloating from our periods, have a more body fat than men, etc. All you need to do is have a balanced diet and exersize. Social media is also a big thing, but remember, all the celebrities have personal dietitians and trainers so don't compare. Exercise influences u see have work for years to get those abs and that body type. KNOW YOU SELF WORTH AND THAT YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL

i can't last a day without a mirror. i constantly look into a mirror or a reflection in a window if there is one. i will never see myself beautiful. i workout and almost dont eat anything (i just healthy stuff or protein foods. even when people compliment me or say that im beautiful i smile and feel good about my body for a sec. then it fades away and it feels like my mind is ignoring those things. i don't know if i have body dysphoria or something else. i just can't see myself pretty or skinny.

I've always struggled with my body image. I lost 30 pounds two years ago only to regain it all in 10 months. I look totally different compared to when I was on the slimmer size. I feel so fat and ugly, but dieting again puts me into a binge and restrict mode. It's hard and all I have is prayer. I just wish I could maintain the weight once I lose it, but I can't. Sigh. I guess there are more severe problems in the world though

I have all of the above, Im still in Highschool and obese its hard and I want to change myself but I feel that Id be doing it to look like others to fit in to be skinny and small. Not for my health or for my mental state. This is where I find myself stuck and cannot find the motivation to start so I stay in my old habits and ways sadly any advice from anyone would help and would greatly appreciated thank you.

I believe since gym culture has become a big thing now bodyimage has become a massive problem. and social media uses this to its advantage. I also think with bodyimage it's not just appearance but one comparing to others in strength and compition the whole alpha mentality. You don't need to bench 300 and have Arnold's body to be called a man.

Dont change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.

I just hate my body so much all i could think about is exercising for 2-3 hours everyday. it made a difference but i still wasn't content so i started to starve myself while still exercising. that ended up costing me more than i can imagine.
I really still don't know what to do.

I usually like myself in the mirror. I dont love it, but I dont hate it either. The thing that really makes me very upset is seeing myself in pictures. The way I see myself in the mirror and pictures is different. I hate taking pictures of myself.
