Can a narcissists fall in love? The short answer is yes. However, its probably not the type of love youre thinking of right now. If youre an average person who sees love as something along the lines of understanding, acceptance, and compromise, then youre in for a surprising ride, because this is what truly happens when a narcissist falls in love

This almost made me tear up at the end when she was talking about what the partner of a narcissist could feel, because 3 months ago I had been feeling that for 10 months, and I attempted suicide 2 times, I had those times where I would just sit down somewhere and stare at the ceiling or the ground for 1 or 2 hours while not doing anything but thinking, she would almost never give me affection or show love, just at random times, and then 2 minutes later she was back to being cold, those times of her showing love lasted 2 minutes, even tho I was very happy with that, I was extremely attached to her, and I tried my best to hold my feelings and not show my love for her, but I'm very expressive, so I had to sometimes, and whenever i did it she would either say ok or COMPLETELY IGNORE IT, she did some manipulating things too now that I think about it, like telling me to do something and she'll show her love, or something like that. I'm an empath, I always did my best to be here for her everytime and this was a
terrible experience, I would never wanna have to deal with that ever again, it was my first girlfriend too. I was not used to the feeling of breaking up or anything, and the reason I stayed this long is because I was extremely ignorant and I thought it was normal, because I had no other experiences in the past related to this, and to this day, she has left quite some significant sequels in my life, and she really changed me completely, I'm not the happy person who always smiles, and who always wants to help everyone like I used to be before, I really became someone else. Don't fall in love with a narcissist.

My boyfriend I believe is exactly what you're talking about I'm always to blame in discussions or arguments as he calls what we have one minute I'm the top of this world the next minute I'm worthless! He is always pushing me into a state of not wanting to believe him! Feel like I do everything for the relationship that we have but he gets mad easily at me and all things out of balance! Things I thought we already dealt with that he said he forgive me for but when we have an argument or discussion he will pull things out of the Hat that he is wearing and blame me or others for things that happened years ago when we were kids he never takes responsibility for what he does he always puts blame on others including myself! But after he cools down and this may take 2 months after birthdays Christmas season that he'll try to get back together with me or whoever he's arguing with he's lost numerous friends over his behavior and I walked out on him for one year but three months ago we got back together and when I did live up to his expectations he broke up with me tonight but this is a behavioral pattern with him seeing that the Christmas season is just around the corner and he always breaks up with me around Christmas! But then after he goes back into friendship board when he wants something he doesn't just do this with me and I need help to get free of him what can I do I feel like the puppet you're talking about I feel like he's controlling me and I need help

I just feel this. my partner is a really conscious narcissistic. she knows what she wants is all the attention. she even said it to me. but, all the bad things really happen. just like everything in this video explanation. now I get it. Idk how to or what to do. I just understand that I really tired of her accusations, manipulation, and everything else. but, we got married. I just want her to be better but how. I didn't find anything. she's already got a PTSD, and so much pain back then. It's not a lie, cause I know it myself. but, the more I know this Narcissistic thing, the more I know I got more problem in the future. it's frustrating lol. but anyway, nice video.
(I'm not a really empath, or maybe I think I am not, but she's just really upset about how I did to get off from her act. I can feel the bad thing from her, it's often happened. but when she does upset, she would blame me for what I did and anything she remember form my mistakes and mad for days)

So, at first I thought my wife was a dark empath, but this video hit it right on the nose. Unfortunately, I learned this all too late, and now I don't know what to do about it. It said in the video to call at 4: 44. I have no idea who to even call about it, and it has dampened our relationship so much. I would like for our relationship to be mutual, however most of the time it does seem like I am just a game to be played and the affection is only both sides when convenient for her. A response to this comment would definitely be appreciated considering this seems like a hopeless situation that I cannot remedy as far as I know. Any info would be great, thanks.

this is actually really painful to watch rn cause I'm currently dealing with someone who's a narcissist, but I didn't know how bad it was till we got closer to each other. He told me straight up that he really doesn't care about anyone but himself but I still stayed with him even though I know he only cares about what he wants. He said that he still cares but only to a certain extent. now I'm questioning whether I should actually stay with him or not.

2. if you relate to this video, please do not take it as a personal attack. if you suspect you're a narcissist, chances are, you're probably not one because you still have the capacity to reflect on that. We are talking about people who are on the higher end of the NPD spectrum.

Some people that I have already met them before. Besides, I was realizing that when they showed you that they won't love you anymore and then, They treated you different from the others. They are the ones who are narcissists. Besides, They won't accept the fact that they were in the wrong, here. Besides, They won't take accountability for their mistakes towards good people.

Having this kind of relationship years ago. love bombing at first, made me feel so special, on and off behavior, manipulate things to control me, listen more to what people say about her than my opinion, cheating and never apologised, and finally discard me when see someone better in her circle. disgusting relationship i had to face and made me suffer for years.

Its crazy that I didnt ever realize my ex was a narcissist while I was in the relationship. I was too in love to realize it, but when I look back every point in this video is spot on with the way she would act and the way she would treat me. I feel sort of relieved in a way that now I finally have an understanding of why she did the things she did to me.

the hardest part about this is when there is no ''cure'' for narcissistic behaviors. especially when you realise its someone close to you.
as i tried and still eager to try and ''save her'' even if i realise she doesnt care. It hurts me to know she will eventually pay her price. somehow. maybe or not. but HOW to let go of this?

reply

I struggle with this stuff more than anything. Ive definitely experienced both sides of this, I think, so maybe its situational? Idk. I find the more time I spend alone the less I have to worry about being on the receiving end, only to find myself increasingly less equipped to identify it in myself or others.

I am not sure if my dad is a Narcissist, but. I have beee trying to leave here for ages. one moment he acts normal, and then. it is like a switch on the wall is flipped. he can go from being nice to a fight or doing crazy things in a few moments. he kind of fits being a Narcissist
reply

Narcissist they don't fall in love or truly love someone. The only thing they love is how you make them feel about themselves. They crave your attention and admiration and when they get it they throw you away like you were nothing to them bc you where nothing to them.

I have the trauma, depression and anxiety. What drives me nuts is that if your a relative or spouse you get the brunt of the abuse. However, to the outside world; her friends; business partners etc she is just sugar and spice and everything nice.

This was insightful having experienced this prompts me to rethink interactions I had with my ex. It also highlights issues I have with a relative of mine. BTW: Found all ten hearts.

I too have felt this sting and watching this gave me the strength to stand up to the narcissist I know and break their hold over my life. Deeply and truly, thank you.

How can you get out of a relationship like that when they act like the victim once youre trying to end things and they blame you for all the troubles in the relationship?

Please try to keep your voice at a consistent tone and volume. There are certain times that the words or statements are more whispers. It's somewhat annoying
reply

Wish I knew all this years ago. I've been through ALL the stages and suffered more than 20 y of emotional abuse. Thanks for sharing.

Narcissists are incapable of falling in love. They're only in love of the potential that they can control even the most gullible.
reply

Believe it or not there are narcissists out there that are in a real relationship and they don't know that they are a narcissist
