Although I'm an extrovert, due to my own experience, I can relate to introverts who experience discrimination and hatred in their own country. Having grown up and lived as an extrovert in Finland, I have had to experience hatred and belittlement for being different from what a Finn should be. In Finland, introversion is considered a measure of a normal person and is an over glorified human personality trait that has been adopted into the Finnish national identity. Of course, this makes Finland an ideal and paradise-like country for introverts, but for extroverts, Finland and Finns can sometimes be very hostile and rude (especially their opinion about extroverts and what should be done to extroverts. And of course this sounds crazy when it comes to a country that has been, several times in a row, the happiest/most satisfied country in the world and seems very peaceful and friendly from the outside, but you can't really understand it unless you experience and live it yourself. But Finland is indeed a very strange country, where you can, for example, receive a warning and the threat of to be fired with the idea that extroversion somehow reduces work efficiency, productivity and functionality if you are too social and get along with your work community.

I love this video. I learned so much about why I love reading and writing!
As an introvert I find it very taxing to listen for long periods of time especially multi tasking trying to work. I love sprints of conversation just not marathons! I don't think extroverts always realise the level of patience and energy that goes into listening for long periods even if we really like the person so when we might eventually reach the stage of feeling it's just too much and say we need to concentrate on a task in silence for a bit/want to be alone/read or write and not talk or seem a bit irritated it can be interpreted as anti social or uncaring which can feel so unfair!
I've had this a few times and watching this video shows how it's a misunderstanding of how one another's brain functions work. I guess if you don't ever feel like that as an extrovert it might seem confusing. That's not to say extroverts aren't fun and interesting - just built differently.

I always thought introverts had it good before. If you are alone more, you talk to others less. This decreases your chances of saying something dumb and ruining your image. I also assumed that you all didn't care what others said as much, because you were used to working on yourselves. Also because you work on yourselves more, I always percieved the introvert as more intelligent. Unfortunately, the quiet kids have quite a few stereotypes nowadays. Some good, but mostly bad. Us extroverts are loud and annoying, and sometimes I do wonder if I fall into the group of those very few people In the middle. I have good people skills, but I don't like being around most people. But I relate more to the extrovert brain study from this video. Or who knows! Maybe people percieve me as sad and needing emotional stimulation (I don't. Or maybe I just have obnoxious friends. Hmm.
In conclusion, this video helped me learn quite a bit. Thanks Psych2Go!

Sometimes i may be introvert so here are reasons im kinda a introvert
FIrst: I hate to party so much (i just wanna party every 3 months)
Second: I dont talk to people much when its art class
Third: Im quiet for 2 hours a day
Fourth: Also because my mom is not here with me (SHES NOT DEAD SHES IN CANADA)
And ye thats all

Or somghing like that i'll try to steer the conversation into something else. the reason i cant figure out which one im more of is becuase im very uh whats theword. talkitive on. ine but irl im quiet sometimes but anyways bye have a great weak.

I am likely the most extreme introvert kind there is. I have nobody in my life, no friends, no neighbours, no coworkers, no family. I go weeks without seeing humans. I go weeks without speaking. It is comforting because I know I can not become a victim to a social predator again. There are far worse emotions than loneliness. Loneliness is actually a very desirable emotion as compared to try crippling emotions others can inflict on us. I have grown to appreciate loneliness because it means I am doing everything to avoid becoming someone fake girlfriend or false friend's victim again.

Thanks for this video, but this let me to relive that I have all the bad attributes: I talk too much and say things I regret a lot, I get tired easily from being out with people, and it doesnt help that Im the most quiet person, and it doesnt help that my mom hates whenever Im not out with people, and i am the least creative person in the world, my mind is always blank, and whenever I make a joke, I get overwhelmed when people laugh. I know there is something very wrong with me and i hate being alone but I hate being with friends I just wanna kill myself

I know it's off-topic, but does anyone else ship the introvert and extravert figures in this video? They're so adorable!
That being said, interesting video! w I'm an ambivert, personally (combo of the two, so a few of the traits from both ends resonated. The pressure to be assertive in particular hit so close to home. w And, yeah, I LOVE being in social settings. The issue isn't I don't like being around people, more that people scare me. .; But in the right contexts, I can outright annoying how outgoing I have the potential to be.

My sis is an excellent leader and is a HARDCORE INTROVERT. XD
Even with me leaning more extrovert, I dont like being put in a leadership position at all. I prefer to watch and learn from the leader. :)
Introvert leaders seem to be more collected and organized whereas Im a train wreck when it comes to leadership, so I honestly like working for introverts because of that and theyll leave me alone not breathing down my neck as Im working. XD

: )
Its annoying that now introversion is now a quirky Asthetic trait
Everyone nowadays claims to have it.
Same with social anxiety
I know that not everyone is faking it,
But to those who are,
You need to stop. Its not quirky or Asthetic
Tbh,
To those who are faking it,
Why? Why be a wannabe when u can just be urself?

Im an Extrovert and I somewhat disagree with Extroverts are loud and therefore praised for it I am naturally a VERY loud person and in being that I often get shushed or the God you talk too much Can you Shut up? Your being too loud and it hurts so I have to FORCE myself to not talk and to be quieter I have to FORCE myself to be an introvert
reply

Oh my gosh MILDY SHY so therefore I'm a quirky Introvert. I will now never do anything to improve how I act in social circumstances, and will make everybody around me uncomfortable because I just so gosh darn quirky and incapable of reading the room.
Not making fun of the video, making fun of this comment section.

I never really understood the differences between these two exept that one was quit and one was loud but this helped me to understand that there is way more to it then just that and that thats not even correct. It also helped me to know if Im and extrovert or introvert. And I can relate to you alot.
reply

I cant figure out whether or not Im an extrovert or introvert, it hard to tell because I have a disability which made it hard for me to make friends and I was mistreated when I was a little kid causing me to start to get social anxiety so now my feeling around people are everywhere. Lol.
reply

Definately feels like that. Even when your doing something like moving to university, you generally have to move in with a roommate, even though lots of us need our own space.
Although, even though I'd say I'm more introverted, with the right people I'm definitely more extroverted

reply

I really hate how this video subtly insults extroverts, you can even see it in the comments, this weird superiority complex about being an introvert. There's nothing particularly amazing about being introverted or extroverted, and you can swing between these two things anyway.
reply

In school im pretty much being forced to be an extrovert, my teachers keep saying im not participating, my friends say they wish i hang out and talk to them more and everyone else calls me quiet. By the end of the day all i wanna do is sleep, but then i have homework to do.
reply

I am an introvert like I do t want to talk to ever Ina room I will talk to be people who I feel comfortable around nonstop and I dont really do great in large groups or I dont like small talk but with ppl I am genuinely interested in or comfortable around I talk a lot
reply

Difference?
A extrovert will get triggered and outraged if he wants a conversation but you don't.
A introvert will feel apologetic and simply walk away.
Yeah, in a room full of extroverts I try not to make eye contact. They may want to talk.

reply

Why do so many extroverts somehow think that being extroverted is better than being introverted? It pisses me off. Like, why would you assume that I want to become an extrovert just because I'm aware that I struggle with certain things?
reply

I think I am an extrovert with a lot of trauma from a past life, (either that or like an ambivert or something) I admire some things that introverts do but not getting enough social interaction drives me insane. Have a good day gn: D
reply

Well i took the personality test in one of ur newest videos and it said i was 74% introvert and 26% extrovert and i do refer to myself as a room hermit bc I'm socially awkward after and suck at social interaction
reply

The leadership part is abit false sure introverts can be leaders 100% but they can't be as good leaders as Extroverts on average because being a leader requires persuasive speech and a loquacious personality
reply

Personality wise i am an introverted extrovert. I love mainly in my head but wnd up with a supreme qct as an outgoing boisterous Personality.
This is tiring but needed for the industry i currently work in

reply

Im in a weird spot. I dont have an issue talking to people I dont dread it at all its just that I get bored easy. maybe I just need to find a different crowd of people who i can empathize better with.
