Hey Psych2Go!
I was wondering if you could make a video about toxic friendships. I know youve made a few of these already, but I thinking your team could explore the red flags in a toxic friendship that most people might miss, myself included. Most people would say that toxic relationships happen almost immediately after you meet the person, but thats not really true.
I met this person and we became friends for almost a year. But near the end of our friendship, they were really mean. Full on bullying me, calling me names, ignoring me, putting my down, and copying and pasting therapeutic messages to make me feel better when they couldnt care less. This was very odd because they didnt seem like the kind of person to do this, they made me cry a lot.
For the first few months, it was healthy. We had fun talking and being around each other. But when summer rolled in, then fall, they were abusing me, mentally.
I never really see people caring about mental abuse. They always assume that its immediate, but with all the experiences Ive had, I can confirm, most of the time its subtle, slow. It happens over a course of time.
I would like to see a video about how to watch out for red flags, and how if the friendship seems to be too good to be true. People can change over time and grow hatred for you for no reason. Do you guys think you could make a video about what I like to call, slow abuse and how it really effects someone and their mindset? I love your videos and appreciate your efforts into spreading awareness about mental health.

I recently broke up with my partner. The things that got to me the most were false promises, like yeah i'll wake you up in the morning then being left to sleep in till like 5pm, or yeah, we'll do this then him just being lazy and not getting around to it. And the WAY he spoke, specifically the words he chose to use. Like saying i'm sorry IF. rather than i'm sorry THAT, or i do respect you then going on to misgender me when i specifically told him i'm enby. It was alot of seemingly little things that piled up and i personally got tired of dealing with. After finally being able to realize i am worth more than these experiences, i decided to not put in effort where i wasn't getting a return, and he didn't want to make the effort that i stopped putting in.

I love ur videos sm. I recently noticed in my now broken up relationship, I noticed that she used to manipulate me, abt almost everything. She says do this, do that, or Ill do this I lost friends from that relationship, but its fine. I blocked her on a lot of my socials. I just couldnt stand checking how shes been up to with her now so called bf. But its fine, shes doing better and Im doing better. Im sure we can just avoid eachother (not too much) but still interact. Shes gotten better now, I just dont see her as a person to me, I see her as a stranger. She just, made me lose so much, from just that one relationship. I noticed she used me sometimes too to buy stuff and not give ANYTHING in return. (Please dont comment negative things on this ty

I had to let him go which was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I still care about him deeply but we both know that we can only care for each other in the capacity of friends right now. He still worries me from time to time but I think it was a wise decision on both of our parts that we can remain friends. I mean hopefully in the future we can pick up where we left off but I held onto that fantasy to save myself from pain. And after getting my feelings out into a poem I was able to emotionally accept that it was over. I can want to be with him in the future but indulging in that dream has only caused me heartache. So it's best to remain present so I can work to better myself and learn from our time together.

Im currently keeping some distance from my bf. He told me he doesnt think he can be with me anymore. But he has never, ever, gotten mad at me or refused me before. After 3 years, he revealed that its been too much for him and wanna end this. I wish he could tell me sooner so I could understand how he was feeling. Its been 10 days were not talking. He told me to wait for a few months so hell be able to treat me the way he used to. But how can I trust someone who has been holding back their feelings and basically lying to me the whole time.
This video is too relatable that it hurts seeing the truth
I believe people can change, but my bf doesnt believe people can change. Its sad how things are hard to fix.

They broke up with me after an argument one day (they argue a lot) and the very next day they came and said am not tagged as your bf anymore, and I can date if I find someone better than you while I tried to make it all good againnn! Can someone please tell how do I control these ANTs that he'll abandon me one day and will be happy with someone who hasn't seen his struggle phase and she'll get everything I've ever wanted from him.
I can't see him with anyone else, I've even started to work on myself if that makes me the best person they have ever seen. but am exhausted. I can't focus

Yes I admit I am the type who very often keeps the grudge. am trying to not to but it's always VERY hard. And it makes me kinda difficult. I can forgive easily (if I see, that someone puts effort to end a conflict) But if not. well. Then I can even never forgive. Because of he fact that others very often were neglecting to say sorry o me. I also started to not say sorry even when I do something bad. That word became even embracing for me, BUT. happily there is psych2go, who can give to thinking in such a delicate way, which I need: )

I was to scared to tell my partner, that I didn't want to have kids do to my medicine health, we told about it. I asked if I told u earlier would u have believed me he said no. I was so scared to tell him because I thought he wouldn't believe me. Which end our relationship all I can do is give him space now think about myself. See if he's ready to talk about the decision I made. He doesn't want kids I overtime I didn't but felt obligated to even though I'm sick

Is saying sorry a lot a bad? I find it that i say sorry a lot to my partner cause i was busy with work n can't find the time to spend with my partner. Playing games is the way for me to relieve stress but my partner wants time with me. In the end, i quit playing game that i love the most. Is my relationship healthy? At times, i feel sad when I can't play games, but when I do play games, my partner became sad n won't eat much. what should I do?

Your videos are helping me a lot rn. I'm going through a very hard time specially in love, so your videos help me notice what I'm doing wrong and what I can do to be better. It hurts a lot to figure out everything you're doing wrong, but you need to be brave to admit them and face them, and I'm currently working on it, all thanks to these videos. Thank you so much
(And sorry if there's some misspelling, English is not my first language )

I have a long distance relationship, but we have met eachother 5 times by now in real life. We have a happy relationship, because we recognize eachother and treat eachother equally. Me and her have been together for a year now (September 26th) and looking to be together for 70 more years at least. Follow Psych2Gos advice though, I recommend it. (I taught myself all these things, but if you have a harder time, ask professionals)

Relationships are fragile and often get affected by small little things if not taken care of properly. A relationship goes through several stages, from friendship to wedding. And things never remain the same between couples. A strong relationship is when two people go through ups and downs without letting their relationship be affected. However, the biggest threat to a relationship comes when one or both the people stop trying.

I feel like this video is much needed for me sometimes. Overthinking is just the first symptom that leads me to act out in a way that's selfish, careless or just blatantly disregards other people's opinions or feelings. On the other side of the coin however, sometimes I can be too naive and forget that it's not always my behavior that needs changing, or that everything I say or do has to be my fault.

There's nothing wrong with friends and relationships but learning to be happy on your own too and doing things without friends, can be liberating! We need to learn to be happy with ourselves first and in our own company not just with others too! Sometimes said friends or relationships can bring loads of heartache, who wants that! Honestly, if you find the right people that's a gift in itself!

Being able to say sorry is so important yet many find it hard. Yet a genuine apology can really smooth hurt feelings.
I have experienced living with someone who refused to apologise that person put himself first. Saying sorry does not make a person appear weak it's a sign of someone who respect and cares about others. Someone who can admit to faults and failings.

The codependency thing was way too much from my side. I am not able to control how I react to situations and This is the reason my relationships with everybody gets effected so much that most of the time I end up being alone. Sometimes I feel I am really the toxic person in the relationship, its including friends as well.

If you have to fight for a relationship than it's not a relationship. Astrology is a good thing to study if you want to know why you're not compatible. It's not an exact science. sort of like another science I know, but it is surprisingly accurate. You guys should check it out.

7. Seeking validation outside the relationship: installing dating apps, constant borderline flirting, behaves weird about their phones, playing victim when called out or simply asked for clarity.
Time to break up. Stop giving them chances they don't deserve

reply

You forgot to say the opposite for 1 too. I apologize for little things and way too much in all honesty. And in relationships with others before it's borderline annoyed them. I apologized every other sentance simply for thinking I said something wrong
reply

You are referring to romantic relationships rather than relationships with people in general. Why didn't you make this clear in the title instead of me having to plough through this bilge to figure that out for myself? ?? ?
