When I was watching the movie Inventing Anna, I recognized that she was a very perceptive person. She was observant of people & knew how to get people interested in her. Money talks & is usually the currency of getting what you want in New York. However, we know she was evidently faking it. She was good at persuading people & dominating the dialogue. She was assertive & had no fear of offending other people. She seemed to be a master at bartering transactions to get what she wants. She was rude & threw temper tantrums to get her way. For some reason, people still helped her. In my opinion, I didn't see her as someone who was particularly that bright, charming or attractive to appeal to so many people. All she was is someone that felt very entitled & knew how to play the game. I will give her credit for negotiating her way out of jail & deportation. Now, she is under house arrest in a comfortable NYC apartment & brokered a lucrative deal for a new reality show.

That Social Proof concept needs to get a video of its own: it explains so much about how people get the world wrong. In my observation, there are far too many people who try to get through life on social skills & cues alone, because they don't know what the hell they're doing, and this idea is a critical aspect of how and why that happens.
As for Anna Sorokin, my attitude is largely one of disinterest. Not only are there massively more harmful & consequential crimes being committed in the world, but I never shared a fraction of her obsession with high society, much less shared any of the poular fascination with how she BS'd her way in. She's a criminal, to be sure, but for all of her delusions of grandeur, she's not a very important or substantial one, just a high-profile loser.

I personally don't think she's anywhere near as bad a person as she was made out to be. Though she did defraud a bank with false documents, which is a bit more clear-cut a case of fraud; the reason she gained notoriety, and most of what she conned out of people were things they were willing to give her because they thought she was rich. Turns out if people think you're rich and influential they'll give you stuff for free assuming that it'll benefit them to be in your good books. There's a fine line I guess between what I consider to be immoral scamming and what she did, like what did the people expect to recieve in return for their money, how far your lies go in order to get that money, were you exploiting a vulnerability and could the person afford to lose that money.

I suspect gaslighting tactics like the ones described here are used on me whenever a customer at my job claims I'm, the only one, who tells them no when they try to do something that is clearly against the rules. It's something I saw just today in fact, with the rule-breaker in question throwing baseless accusation after baseless accusation at me, in a vain attempt to get what they wanted, even though they knew, and openly admitted, that they weren't allowed to have it. When that didn't work, they turned to threats, throwing everything and the kitchen sink at me in a vain attempt to make me break the rules. People like that make me sick.

In speaking of low on the psychopathy scale, I think you need to demonstrate that she had the ability to communicate and express the complex emotions that the average person is able to experience because they actually experience them. Does she yawn reflexively (and not feigned yawning) when others do? Has she ever cried anything more than crocodile tears? I press the point because from what I understand, psychopaths are often those most likely to fool testers into thinking they are not. Let out for good behavior in prison for example. Be interesting to explore further. Cheers, D

Ok I have a problem with your video. If it's a small problem or not I will figure out eventually. You mention (only once though) that vanity and entitlement are on the decline for young people. That is simply false. The opposite is the truth. Does that notion make you a Definite and Complete liar? It is surely manipulative. somehow. Someone either tells the complete and whole Truth or he/she does not in my opinion. Middle ground is not even an option for me. I surely and Definetely wanna your opinion know though.

Anna Sorokin is an example of how a dangerous criminal can manipulate the public opinion into siding with them to get their way to the top and destroying others. Disinformation There are many many more Anna Sorokins across the world, many of which are in political power, tearing apart what could have been a united, powerful force against cruel dictatorships and corruption, with big help from disinformation.

Actually I've heard of her before the Netflix series aired from the show American Greed on how she created her own identity just to con her own rich friends, which is pretty messed up. American Greed also talked about how everything about her was a lie, including her own name. So while I haven't watched the Netflix documentary, I have known about her from a different one.

Thank You all at Psych 2Go. My assumption on this as a human is that whether very wealthy or destitute, we all could consider our personal live's. We on a whole have a tendency to downplay all of society and the benevolence of those that ask to a point of shaming people of their limited fund's because of our own altruism.

I had an impression that 50% of the video was just one repetitive script. I don't know if it's only on my side, or if it's really just that all you have to say about this person is on repeat, but this sensation left me bittersweet.

We were inspired to do a deep dive into popular Netflix series including the story behind Anna Delvey. If you like content like this one, can you support us by suggesting other ideas you would like us to cover.

I find this interesting. However, the whispery, sing song-y way the narrator speaks is very distracting and I find it hard to focus on the story.

She's just getting rewarded by her bad behavior by having a series made about her, even if she is. educational. in her own way

All you do in the dark eventually comes to the light, so I'd rather just keep it real, it's about peace of mind for me!

If I said that Anna Sorokin deserved to be in jail or something worse, will it be a good thing to say?
