I have ADHD trauma signs and the worst part is that I was already diagnosed with ADHD. Whenever a lack of focus, work, or calmness occurred it was because of ADHD. But, my parents put it aside and said to stop using my ADHD as an excuse. As a child who knew nothing better, I thought parents were always right, so I could maintain my ADHD, right? No. As I go deeper down to learning about ADHD, I learned that my parents were clearly wrong. But, due to my beliefs, I tried to ignore and think my behavioral issues and other issues were just because of me. Just because I was taking 10 mg of Amoxicillin a day didn't mean my ADHD wasn't strong. Most people don't have to take medicine. So, I tried. I really tried. And it was working, it did improve a little. But, the stress had built up and manifested itself into a feeling of depression and trauma. I have majorly improved my mental issues and are getting professional help with my ADHD, but the stress and trauma still remains from early childhood.
Thanks, Deb.
Edit: My parents clearly knew I had bad ADHD by the way, before I got diagnosed I was the equivalent of a child who had to be put on a leash at a supermarket to not cause me to do 193 laps around the store.

ADHD is daunting and I go through phases where I feel like it is not a big deal and phases where I get overwhelmed by how unfair I have been treated/dealt with the genetic lottery.
I am normal and well adjusted enough to fit in. go to school, have a job, have friends and relationships now. But it hasn't always been like that. But I was never unnormal enought where people concidered it to be caused by ADHD.
I feel like its either too easy to overestimate adhd and the problems it caused for me, or underestimate them. Sometimes I completely discard adhd being a serious issue, and sometimes I desperately ask people to concider it.
Its just not fair how much of desirable personality traits are harder to have with ADHD. Low concientousness, lower agreeableness(in context like waiting for turn, waiting in line etc, lower extraversion(due to history of failed relationships)
Somedays I feel smart and well adjusted, other days I feel like a failure that will never truly be happy, just falling behind and chasing the bare minimum.
But I am proud of my ADHD, I am proud of myself and I will not let it stop me.

I have been diagnosed with adhd and when i was my mom threw a fit and made me switch (psychiatrist? Counselor? You know who im talking about) and now claims i was never diagnosed and says i dont have it and has tried on 1000s of occasions to gaslight me into thinking i dont. I have also been punished for being unfocused and i also for some reason arent allowed to go see the person we switched to for some reason (whenever i say im not ok in any way like im feeling depressed or something my parents will say you dont look [like i have something that isnt normal] you are fine and any attempt i make at trying to talk to them either immediately gets shut down or they keep cutting me off, immediately disagree with whatever ive said, etc. So i just dont talk to them unless spoken to and that pretty much goes with everyone now so yay me ig. Sorry for such a long message, kinda went on a rant.

I've owned every trait I could think of for A. D. H. D for years now, years on end. Even my therapist agrees it's like so, but she cannot diagnose it herself since she's not a phyciacrist. My parents refuse to take me to see one, howver, so I've struggled taking the blame for everything I do and my lack of self-control since I apparently fake the symptoms for attention or gloat. This has become severe enough to make my clinical depression only worse than it was before, and enough to reshape my mind into believing that I am taking it, even though I have no control over what I do.
In fact, I've gotten used to my daydreaming of acholol, and I constantly wish for it on end, even if the wish is always rejected for a right reason, and it just feels like an escape I haven't found yet.

I feel targeted by this video title. After watching the video I want to share my story.
tw; abuse
I had undiagnosed Inattentive ADHD when I was in my previous relationship. He would always yell at me for forgetting things or dropping stuff. Sometimes he would purposefully gaslight me when I forgot something because he thought it was funny. He would often berate and insult me for these things out of my control. I went to therapy after that long 5 year relationship and I was diagnosed, as an adult, with ADHD. That only highlighted every traumatic moment in a new perspective and understanding and made it that much worse. But, I got help and Im healing now.

I might have ADHD since I can get distracted easily, and I get hurt more often. I have experienced past trauma, child abuse, I'm 11. I feel neglected, this boy at school always say's wow in a mockingly way. And always making fun of me, this lowers my personality and making me feel like I'm lonely. But my TRUEST friends are always there to comfort, I'm always touching them at random times, I've experienced trauma because my parent's always argue. Finance, and other things. It's stressful, and it's very stressful. This can lead to bullying and loneliness, I've always adapted to ADHD as one of my unique personalities, because, I'm very sociable and kind.

To me it seems like no matter where you look everyone is exactly how this video described. Like no one just has a normal life so now a normal life is just adhd/any mental illness and the difference between them doesn't matter cause in the end everyone goes thru the same stuff and will more then likely react the same way. Or maybe the people who react differently never say anything so they are over shadowed by the self diagnosed/self obsessed. But then ofc the people who do say things will stop because there are people like me who call them out. Then they become the ones who are overshadowed, basically everyone needs help and no one will get it.

But many donno that adhd ones actually prove to be genius. there are people with mild to higher levels adhd. some are so high that they need prolonging therapy of speech. focus. occupational therapy. many more. but mild ones are still among us and actually they are ok and quite normal. chances they easily get bored. cnt sir in one place. ha e restlessness. they are very creative. they have amazing ideas. mild ones can be easily treated. only problem is hyper ones need lifelong therapy. and that's good that therapy ll help them. a lot

I was diagnosed with autism as a little kid. Back then, people didn't think autism and ADHD could occur in the same person. But I showed all the symptoms of ADHD. Finally, I was diagnosed with ADHD as a teenager.
The crazy thing was, I actually used to envy kids with ADHD. They were thought of as free-floating artists while autistic kids were straight-laced scientists. Plus there seemed to be a double standard at my school: kids with ADHD were told that everything was gonna be okay; autistic kids were given pity.

I never got tested for ADHD but um pretty sure its quite obvious that i have it. I normally dont comment on videos but one thing that really stuck out to me, was that I do seem toxic in the relationship im in. bc either idk how to respond or i cant think of anything to said so i just dont say anything at all. Im still in this relationship but my lover barley wants to talk to me. I seem to chose my friends over them but i dont. Im just to shy to say anything to them since idk how to get the words out. :)

Actually I've told my mom about what ADHD is the symptoms ect. Ect. And told her that I might have it and that I should go to a psychologist to get tested
She just blamed it on the phone and said that I wasn't mentally ill. but little does she know I'm actually mentally ill. i have anxiety (I've studied about it even had anxiety attacks) and now may have ADHD I took an online test and it said that I should go to get myself checked out BC I may have ADHD most likely

I was diagnosed with ADHD in the last 4th of my 8th grade year. My brother has it as well, but we are all but certain we also have ASD. Our mother has ADD, and she didn't realize until I got diagnosed. She used to refer to a cleaning habit she had as her 'cleaning ADD' where she would start cleaning one room, have to grab something from another room, and start cleaning that room and completely forgetting about her previous task. Yeah no it's just straight up ADD

The tragedy of undiagnosed and untreated ADHD is that it's extremely treatable. All that grief could have been spared if people weren't so bad at recognizing it as a disorder.
Heck, why does it feel that we have to crack open the codes of our own brains to be seen as worthy, when others can manage with far less? Why do people focus so much on our shortcomings to the point they feel like incorrigible moral defects, and not on the things we do best?

reply

I think I might have ADHD cause I have pretty much every symptoms, but when I talked to my parents about this, my mom who has done psychological studies (She didn't finished them) telled me that I did not have ADHD. And now, I am a bit confuse, because I feel like something is wrong with me, with my emotions, and with the number of time I injured myself. But I am scared to ask to
see a professional, because I would probably look dumb.

My mother used to yell at me for not being able to listen during a conversation or not remember something she told me and I told her I was paying attention to something else and couldnt hear her. we made a promise she would not yell at me but I think she forgot about it and still does this. She has even said she thinks I might have ADHD but still doesnt act differently toward me

people have always called me irresponsible, innatentive or dtuff like that, especially in school, teachers and friends have always suggested that i could have adhd, even my psychiatrist, but my parents dont want to be tested for some reason. sooo yay being irresponsible and sucking on everything I do for at least 2 more years(when i turn 18 and can seek treatment by myself)

Trying to get diagnosed, Im extremely clumsy and have almost permanently damaged my spine due to. clumsiness. Ive also gotten multiple injuries. I very often also have trouble staying focused, I think about something and then that leads to me replaying memories, or watching movies in my mind until someone snaps me out of it (talking, bell ringing, or loud noises) it sucks

I have diagnosed adhd but ir doesnt really feel like it somtimes, when I try to talk to my mom about things that I think are symptoms or did research ob, shes jsut like thats not because of adhd, we are all a little adhd sometimes which is upsetting because she raised 4 adhd kids. It feels like I have the diagnosis but nothing has really changed
reply

All of the signs resonate with me. I was only diagnosed about two years ago with my ADHD, and I am still trying to heal from the trauma of living my life with it undiagnosed. thank you for spreading awareness and helping people like me feel valid. I would love to see an 80 HD playlist sometime I would binge watch it all again.

i've been having some thoughts that i might have ADHD because one of my classmates pointed out that I rock back and forth in my chair while nobody else does and that classes I don't find 100% interesting become very hard to focus. its just speculation and I'm never going to say i have ADHD unless I'm diagnosed
reply

Ok
There is no way I dont have it
When I try to read a book like 20 seconds later Im looking at my phone or chasing my cat who just entered my room
Also I dont know if this counts as destructive, but like every pair of headphones Ive had in my life Ive broken in a matter of 2 months

I was recently diagnosed at 27 with ADHD. Getting that diagnosis explained soooo much about my childhood and why I was always an unhappy kid with no friends. Even today, I have very few friends. And I am struggling with not masking my symptoms anymore and finally embracing my 'weirdness'.

Imagine with me if you were on a secluded island and there was no food on it, then you saw a boat passing around you to save you, what would your joy be like? Now imagine with me telling you that the boat that came to save you is the Quran, what would be your reaction?
