Medical professionals haven't figured it out. Yes they absolutely have. But that won't sell a pill. When your body's tissues break down it releases a load of chemical messengers. this is what saves your life when your body goes through trauma and inflammation. Tissues began their break down prior to menstruation. PMDD is exactly that. Similar to trauma. These messenger are screaming for you to rest during bleeding, so your body is preparing by obsessing about getting ready to bleed. (women also need support who suffer from these conditions) All these psychological feeling are directly related to Homeostasis, but our society doesn't care about menstruation. So women push through it only to exacerbate the condition.

From what I've seen, lifestyle choices may be the driving factor behind a lot of disorders and illnesses both physical and mental. It certainly is difficult in a world that is indifferent to people's problems and well being, but at least it means there is generally a solution for a lot of debilitating disorders, though there certainly is no quickfix or miracle solution. I think my sister may perhaps have this, and it certainly enhances her depression from what I've seen, so I'm hoping if she's able to do more things she enjoys, have a healthy diet, and avoid unnecessary stressors, she may be able to avoid many of the negative effects of PMMD.

So, I know it s unrelated, but I could use a word of advice. Recently (a year ago) I got rid of a huge problem that was plaguing me my entire life, making me scheme and calculate every move and explaining the decisions I made, often having to lie about them in order not to get in trouble. The thing is, I feel like I have become complacent without all the stress that problem brought me. It s like my brain is on cool-down, and I have never felt more unintelligent than I currently am, and I have recently confirmed that I indeed am less mentally capable than I was. It s like the opposite of a burnout, but with same results.

I actually have it! It s horrible. When I started my period within a year I was hospitalized for suicidal thoughts they told me I was bi polar. I was 13. I didn t realize it correlated with my period until I was 36 and was tracking my moods and periods. At my worst PMDD moment I threw a 55 inch TV down my steps, I m a completely different person after I ovulate. Suicidal thoughts, severe depression, crazy mood swings, racing heart not bathing etc. The only thing that helps is a antihistamine.

I have this and it s no joke. Imagine all the worst symptoms of your period times a million. Thankfully I ve got medication to help me, but the first 10 days - 2 weeks before my period I spiralled into a breakdown multiple times per day that were so severe I can t even say on here how bad it got. All hormone-related. My heart goes out to anyone else that has this.

I never got diagnosed with anything but I most definitely have pms or pmdd. My mom an I were genuinely concerned for my safty with how bad my depression would get right before my period(gender dysphoria didn't help) luckily I started a birth control that stops my periods almost a year ago and I can't remember the last time of been happy this consistently.

Pretty sure I used to have this cause I was extremely sensitive and sad before and during the first day of my period. Now I take pills for my endometriosis so I don t feel this as intense as before, and actually I m not even sure I still have it or if its regular or not cause its hard to keep track when you don t have your period anymore

Thank you so much for covering PMDD. Both me and my cousin have it & before she told me about it I thought I was going insane. I would get so unbelievably low & have to hide myself away from my loved ones because I d end up snapping at them and crying so much afterwards because I felt so horrible

Disclosure this disorder is not real. The medicine was created prior to it being a disorder, essentially creating a solution for a problem they created. Big pharma just rebranded the already existing anti depressants and renamed them to fit a new purpose. Stay woke.

Huh. Interesting. Even as a man I think it's good to be informed about these things so in the future I may can help whoever might need it. Even if it's just understanding what they are going through and having more patience with them.

People now and days are not facing reality too well. People are now more scared and worried to the point that it caused them anxiety or being an introvert. I blamed social media and parenting. Anyway! How's everyone doing today?

I went carnivore in 2021, and it lowered MUCH of my PMDD symptoms. My hormones go all over the place if I eat sugar (even too many veggies! Fiber=cellulose= sugar, grains, and dairy!

My ex claimed to have this and somehow got a Dr to prescribe her opioid pain meds.
Needless to say it didn't work. She also drank a ton of alcohol, never exercised and had a poor diet.
