Somebody help
I dont know if I have depression but I feel like Iam a new person one day interacting with my colleagues. I was never an extroverted person but I had this feeling that I can do something good with my life. But when I reached my college I am interacting more than I used to)
The other day something hits me like a storm. I am not able to smile like other days. It becomes difficult for me to even smile to the people around me.
I tried my best to present myself happy as I know no one wants to see me like this. I don't want them to have a negative feeling because of me. But I can't do that anymore. I am afraid of loosing people around me.
I feel tensed for even small things in my life. I have trouble sleeping and often cry. I feel so hopeless. I feel I will not have the things I want.
I have lost the believe that I can achieve something. Even the small tasks seems like a heavy one.
I used to enjoy watching dramas, music, and drawing.
But now I don't even think about those things. It feel like heavy stone kept on my chest.
Sometimes this sadness even affect the way I walk sit and do task. I become so slow and foggy. I really don't know whom to talk to. Iam afraid they won't get me.
Normally I would recover within a week. But Now it seems longer and doesn't seem to end

I have a smiling depression, please don't judge me because of it. It's hard how I am smiling with glee on the outside, but I am not well in the inside. And when you share and let the world know that you're struggling with depression, they shrug it off. Like you dont even matter, or they always say You're not like that before.
I learned to fake my smiles and blend with the crowds just to be accepted. For years, I feed off of attention. I got so used to putting on a mask. But in the end, I lost myself. I don't know who I am anymore.
Up until now, the hardest question to answer for me is, Are you okay? Because I don't what to answer. If I let my feelings out or should I fake it? It's easy to respond I'm fine. Because you don't want to look back on how traumatizing it is back there. In the past. So you live on, smiling depression. Live on.

I remember when I met my old homeroom teacher a couple of years ago and as we chatted, I told him I'm currently in a clinic bc of my depression. He was a bit surprised and said: You don't look depressed. I laughed. Well yeah. Not every depressed person looks it. Most I know are actually quite unassuming concerning that.
Also. I think we shouldn't be angry just bc some ppl are ignorant to sth. My teacher saying this, didn't make him even a bit less kind. My therapist said sth really good a couple of weeks ago: Not everyone has to understand. Being angry at someone bc they don't have the same priorities is so, so wrong. It doesn't automatically mean that they think it's not important.

It's frustrating to see a person being accused that they're fine. They might say, How can you be depressed? You're smiling! It's very dismissive and incredibly simplistic. This goes beyond depression, too, often dismissing victims of trauma. You're not traumatized! some simplistic d-bag will say. You were caught on camera smiling! How could anyone traumatized be smiling? I'll say the word for the third time, but it's such a simplistic reaction. It's another reason many victims won't speak out.

My mind doesn't sender to dark thoughts. it's always there. Everyday I pretend that I xm fine because people don't care anymore. I've been told by my closest friends that they will listen if I need to talk. . when I start to try and express my true feelings they switch the subject or stop listening. So, I keep it all packed away inside and show everyone what they want to see.

My inside quote is laugh so you don t cry. I definitely think I have smiling depression or some variety. I have very severe anxiety. Any advice for someone who is very anxious and not comfortable or able to attend therapy and is a teenager but wants to improve themself and wellbeing.

yea, i used to think true depression means you don't have any care in the world whatsoever and thus you wouldn't pretend to please others or not burden them. turns out, I was wrong. anyway, when I'm depressed, it's like everyone knows, sometimes before I do lmfao, nice content
