My father is this way, in the past and the present, despite having a career and personal property, I will never be good enough for him, my Boomer father has an ego the size of the planet, anyone exceeding his status is worthy of contempt. My father is never on time, always backhanded, never answers your questions, disgusting teasing, always on the phone whenever I speak, never listens to what I have to say, tries to manipulate me and my money, never gives me a chance to speak, never credits me for stealing my ideas, a long history of broken promises, hates the fact I am a librarian, a long history of gaslighting me, he continues to gossip and betray me, and mocks me for being librarian, because it's not as awesome as tile setting. The worst part is, people pressuring me to make up with him, because forgiveness in next to godliness, it was all in the past, and other loaded fortune cookie sayings, overall, I will never forgive dad, he is still an unrepentant asshole, despite my efforts to make amends, he is too full of himself to see anyone outside of his own delusions of grandeur.

Anger is a complex and multifaceted emotion that often involves sadness. If someone is angry with me and disrespects me, it may indicate that the person feels sad about something related to me. It's crucial for us not to disrespect those who express anger. Clear communication, empathy, and understanding can help resolve conflicts and build friendships. Anger can also involve jealousy, which is often rooted in insecurity. For example, if someone is jealous of my success, it may be because they lack confidence in their own abilities and feel insecure about themselves. They might believe they are not talented enough to succeed. The same type of jealousy can occur in romantic relationships.

4: 07 i once had 'friends' where i told them i was gay, and insecure about my weight. A few days later 2 boys from my class came over and called me the F slur and told me i looked like a 'fat cow'. Too bad i was a naive lik a-hole and just thought they had overheard our conversation, until they actually verbally abused me. I still havent changed schools 4 years later cause im dealing with mental health problems and my teachers and principal are working with my helpers and my temporary therapist, so changing schools will cause a lot of problems. I blocked them and give them the silent treatment and unfortunately still in class with one of them(the worst one of them all)

Because of my ADHD, I’ve been labeled disrespectful and insensitive. I am low functioning and on the extreme end of the spectrum as I struggle with having interactions with people as I get distracted very easily and my mind drifts away hence I’m unable to stay focused on the conversation. People notice my eyes are completely off in a different universe and when I’m asked a question, I have no idea what they talked about. It feels like my brain is always on a different wavelength as my attention issues make it seem like I don’t care, even though I do.

Something to add to broken promises:
In my experience, some people may also break them not out of disrespect but because they think they can do a lot more than what they actually can. They may promise to do X thing because they really think they're capable, but then fail because they didn't consider how much X thing would cost them, or whether they'd even like doing X thing. Being honest with yourself about what you can and can't do from the start could prevent you from being the one to break promises: )

Respect creates too many rules needing it can make you weak I personally am disrespected daily but I still accomplish what I want and get what i need see logic is hard to argue with and if one has unshakeable logic and speaks up then anything anyone says really doesn't matter how they say it doesn't matter as long as they understand they can't out think you you're golden oh and it really helps if one's feelings aren't easily hurt lol

3: 45: not sure if appreciates means the same thing in french and in english, but I don't see why people have to appreciate and support things you like to be respectful. I am a furry and I have friends who are not into it, and I never felt disrespected because they don't appreciate or support my furry things. What about their limit and their right to say no about things they don't like

I watched this video because a really close friend to me recently called me toxic and said I mistreated her. With this I ended up finding more signs from her than from me
What's crazy is that she was secretly trying to get a way from me and never communicated about how she felt, so now she makes it sound like it was all my fault when I had no idea.

reply

If anyone gives me the silent treatment, i stop talking to them until they stop. I refuse to accept this crappy disrespectful behavior.
One of my friends used to do that to me and i would just go and keep apologising for no reason whatsoever. She still does it and i stop talking to her. She just comes back and pretends nothing happened.

Broken promise is huge for me. I have been pressured to forgive and forget and move on by those who are really close to the person who hurt me aka. their fiances, spouses, and family. I don't want anything to do with them. That is disrespect of the highest order. It ties in with some points that have been brought up in this video.
reply

Some of these are side affects of adhd like: not being able to focus on a conversation, accidentally interrupting, being on the phone too much, talking over people those things. Never intentional disrespect, I personally put high value on being a respectful person. I just can’t focus when I get excited.
reply

I’ve dealt with plenty of people who did these things in the past, and I always felt hurt when they did it, but I thought that wasn’t the correct response or feelings about them. Your videos always make me feel validated for how I feel and reinforce that those peoples’ behavior was wrong
reply

I been dealing with all of these since being a kid. Even from family. They wonder why I became a loner and nasty when they keep coming at me.
School should teach more respect. Without it. I don’t want to be around them. Can’t achieve anything around these types of leeches

reply

This video released today just after I did a massive unfollowing of individuals whose interactions on social media contributed to my negative feelings. Seeing this video confirms that I did what I was suppose to do even if letting go of people has its difficulties!
