Why the Speed of Light is Actually Horribly Slow
video description
Remember when letters used to take even MONTHS to arrive from colony to kingdom and vice versa?
Theres just something about humanity that tells me we will eventually find a way. Some new technology will be invented that allows messages to travel faster and faster each generation. So maybe its not _why instant communication will be impossible_ but instead _why instant communication is impossible TODAY_
Someday somehow someway I really hope someone discovers a new way for communication to travel around the solar system; maybe not instantly but, say, receiving a message from Mars will be a matter of several minutes even when its furthest away (I can already smell capitalism making MARS SALE for spacenet bandwidth or something)

Space is super thick.
The reason light can't travel faster than it's speed is because of gravity. Electromagnetic waves are just shockwaves in space, which travel the speed these waves travel through the medium of space. The denser space is, the slower light will travel through it, like around s black hole. Faster in thinner space likewise. It appears to have a constant speed because it is countered by time slowing down a long with light in dense space so the distance per TIME is constant Project D. A. W. O. L. 2025 is scheduled to do a massive demonstration proving the general theory of relativity and realities of the laws of physics, in the year 2025.

Consider this a metaphor: Slow Moving -Light- is the -blood- of the Universe. We see aspects of a -Central nervous system- that connects everything (including light, time, and you) together as an infinite instantaneous whole. It-s not -spooky action at a distance- so much as the universe having -reflex action-.
We see things that move with the -arrow of time- but we only see shadows of things that flow -against- the flow of time.
Reality travels faster than the speed of light, it-s instantaneous every place, and every time at once.

I think these people aren't thinking when People had to send messages and wait 1 year to get an answer, If we tell those old people that it will take 1 sec to send and receive messages in the next era, they would not believe that it was possible.
Conclusion why are we worrying about our future communication issues in the future, let future science do its magic for us, while we just wait
(Edit I have a problem in English grammar so ignore this wrong text)

Sometimes I feel really lazy and then I think about the fact that I move almost a million km/h considering the Earth's spin at the latitude I'm at, Earth's orbit around the solar system, the solar system's orbit around the Milky Way. and then I did not even mention the expansion of the universe which only gets faster! :D Could be a good topic for a video, I'm sure people like me who'd rather calculate this than get up from the damn couch would appreciate.

This is wrong dude, light is always fast the space is just super big.
Why does an airplane, one of the fastest vehicles, takes hours to travel from america to china? Because earth is big, it needs a long distance to travel, an airplane is always fast it's just the earth is way much bigger than an airplane, same with light. If it's speed is 299, 792, 458 meters p/sec it dosn't mean it has to travel instantly, space is large bro.

The only thing faster than the speed of light is the speed it takes to realize this video's title is very wrong. It's like saying, Cheetahs are very slow mammals. Yes, they look fast when chasing a gazelle, but what if that gazelle was roaming the streets of Oslo, Norway? It would take the Cheetah weeks to get to that gazelle from the plains of Africa.

If people would become engineers, astronomers, teachers, philospher, etc, instead of so-called -influencers- and social media -celebrities-, maybe we'd already have made more progress. Instead, we're supporting a communist TikTok, while allowing the Chinese to start biological warfare, keeping the world's society from advancing.

There's a pretty interesting website called If the Moon was One Pixel, which is a map of the solar system to scale. All of the empty space between planets is kinda horrifying, and the page also has an auto scroll feature that scrolls at the speed of light. That was the first time i realized how massive our solar system is.

I heard in the night sky there is sonething that we can see. But, it it is so far away that we are seeing it 13. 4 billion years in the past since it took that long for their light to reach us. So, it probably doesn't exist. But wait. that would mean we are lookjng at something that doesn't exist.

5: 48 after seeing that dress image 1000x times, my brain randomly switched and now I see it as white and yellow instead of blue and black and I can't go back. Like it was always blue and black, but now I see the dress on the right but just in a shadow and it breaks my mind.

What's really crazy is that we can see things that are like 20 or 30 billion light years away even though practically nobody believes the universe has been around that long.
Maybe light used to travel faster?
Your guess is probably as good as mine.

-meters p/sec-. honestly, this is more cringey than putting the $ after the value, or the % before it. And this is supposed to educate people on science? Under stand what the -per- means in -meters PER second- and also understand what the -/- is being used for.

Nice video!
One can also add that despite this fact, according to the theory of relativity, the journey of a photon is always instant from its own point of view, no matter how long it actually travels between two locations. And I find it quite funny.

And next year, Itll of been 8 years since 2015, so thats when they would start sending stuff from 2015 back
(Edit: this must be why Phineas and Ferb is on its way to returning as of this year)

Know the saying 'why do we say life is short if it's the longest thing we will ever experience? '?
Well why do we say light is slow if it's the fastest thing anyone or anything in the entire universe will ever experience or even hear about?

Imagine playing Roblox and waiting 8 years for the you to spawn and immediately wait another 8 years to get a single excellent ping and over and over again and then you disconnect because of an error and you're already a skeleton by that time

I love how half an hour is presented as a huge amount of time for a sent message to reach its recipient, when even just 100 years it would take weeks or even months to deliver a written letter from North America to Europe.

Guys acting like the 1800-s didn-t exist-when people would write letters without expecting a response. Just because explorers would disappear and possibly NEVER come home. It-s a bleak prospect, but humanity finds a way.

Everyone trying to say -Light isn't slow, the universe is big-, both of those are relative. I would be equally correct in telling you -Light isn't fast, you're just small-.

I think if we took the fastest speed a spacecraft has ever gone it would take some 3000 years to reach Proxima Centauri. We're stuck here folks, lets take care of it.

Actually we-d knew that sun died early than 8 min. Because we have other source of transmitting of information-gravity. But to prove it a science must work hardly enough.

this makes me think: why isn't light instant?
if the smaller the mass of something, the faster their speed, why isn't light instant if it has no mass?
