1. 0: 11 -Home to very famous countries like the Netherlands and France-
He never explains how he figures that the Netherlands are in South America. Thats cuz they arent, and havent been since Suriname became independent. Unless he means Aruba and Curaco, which are off the northern coast of South America, and do indeed belong to the Netherlands, but those are usually considered Caribbean nations, not South American ones. By that logic, Trinidad and Tobago, bordering Venezualea, is also a South American country.
2: 0: 21 -Do tell me, which country does France share its longest border with? -
Australia. By a long shot. Long story short, they both have claims in Antartica, and Australias is made up of two wedges on opposite sides of Frances much more tiny wedge, thus giving it a border length of a few thousand miles at least. Now, you could argue that due to the Antartic Treaty, these claims can never be offical or enforced, but nonetheless, they do still techniclly exist, and are recognuized by each other. So I say it still counts)
3: 0: 51 The largest national park in the European Union is in French Guiana-
Nope. Its in northeastern Greenland, since Greenland is a part of Denmark. Also, Europe isnt particularly big on national parks, so its not hard to be the largest when Europe is so relatively small anyway.
4: 2: 08 -Brazil is closer to every other country in the Americas then to its southernmost point-
Nope, you forgot Greenland. Also, according the numbers on screen, Canada is on that list just barely, like by 20km or so. So.
5: 3: 15 -Its easy to not know that South America is diagnol from North America-
Maps may not be completely accurate with everything (as 2 of your other videos have delightfully pointed out, but Im pretty sure anyone whose seen these two continents on a map will know (though maybe not remember) that they arent sraight up and down.
6: 3: 35 -The entirety of South America lies to the east of this line-
I believe that the Galapagos and Easter Island would like a word. (Yes, I know he meant the continent, but Im sorry, I just had to be pedantic for a bit here)
5: 4: 33 -In Panama, the Atlantic side is further west than the Pacific side-
Yknow what? That is actually kinda cool. I believe thats the only country where something like that that can be said. So heres a sin removed.

Wow. Thanks Brother. After watching many videos, this one lifted up still uncovered topics on South America, for example, it is not really South of America. It is just a part of Southern Hemisphere. They could have called it something else like Africa. Calling it South America makes it so confusing for naive & native (has naive come from native) people like me to associate it with North America. I was so wrongly attaching the charactertistics of Pacific Northwest waters to Western side of South American continent. Which is not even South of America. Wow. But they do look similar beauty wise the Western side of North & South America. I love Andes mountains much more now for covering an entire continent and giving them something common to connect. If it were me, I would have broken Brazil into two parts or more. Probably its size makes it so powerful because size matters when it comes to power. Again, I liked to know that it is not South of America.

The Andes are the world's longest mountain system, -rising- from the sea at Cape Horn to -falling- into the Caribbean Sea. They -bunch up- at around Peru, Bolivia, and northwest Argentina. By the time they reach Colombia, the Andes bifurcate; the main branch headed due north through Colombia while another runs northeast into Venezuela.

I-m sure something like this is buried in the comments somewhere but at 4: 06 you said the Panama Canal connects the Western Pacific Ocean with the Eastern Atlantic Ocean. Shouldn-t that be reversed? Ships move east from the Eastern Pacific Ocean to the Western Atlantic Ocean via the Panama Canal.

OK! I am embarrassed, I actually did not know French Guyana is a French territory. There's also 2 small islands off Canada's Atlantic coast that are also french land.
I'd now like to know if the French social safety net is fully available in French Guyana. I doubt it.

Another geographical quirk is that we often think of Australia and New Zealand being rather close, but the closest points between the two countries is longer than between London and Warsaw. And from Aukland to Perth is around the same distance as from London to Afghanistan.

The map used at 5: 16 is highly distorted. It shows where other locations on the other side of the globe from a specific point only from the angle that the map is viewed at, therefore making the claims in that segment not particularly accurate.

3: 39 if you take a map of the Americas and mirror it, this becomes much more obvious. I guess we-re so used to seeing the regular way around that it-s hard to see just how Far East SA is.
