The United States has a total of 31. 5 trillion dollars of debt and has a total of 173 trillion dollars or debt and unpaid liabilities all of which we are paying interest on and what we contribute to paying it off doesn-t even cover the interest we pay on it.
In order to pay this debt off in the quickest way possible through taxation (the only means in which the government funds it-s spending) it would have to tax 100% of all Americans earnings for 8. 5 years- assuming we had this debt interest free AND Us spent not a single dollar for 8. 5 years.
Let that sink in.

Not reasonable, seize it all by force and then either re-distribute it equally amoung everyone or hold a vote on what to do with it. People are working for Amazon, peeing in bottles and living out of cars because he pays so little- it is obscene- Musk too, all of them- they are parasites and sociopaths- I honestly believe that in order to be a billionaire you need to have connections and be a sociopath willing to screw over everyone and anyone, this is not the behaviour we should be rewarding with fancy yachts, private jets and rocket ships! It should be punished, strip them of their ill-gotten games and throw them all in roach infested apartments and let them work for what they pay their employees, use the money to improve our crumbling infrastructure and economy- but make sure they can't benefit. Sociopathic plutocrats out!

If Jeff Bezos held on to his original Amazon shares which would have been 118620000, his net worth would be now more than $358B, last november Amazon's share price hit an all time high of 3484$, so with 118620000 shares of Amazon his net worth would have been at that time more than $413B, either way he would be richer than Elon Musk by a huge margin. Most of Bezos net worth is on paper in stocks. It's not like he has that amount in his checking account. He would have to completely cash out and lose control of his companies. He'll never do that. Same as Elon Musk. I'm sure they pay themselves a nice salary from their companies. But these net worth amounts are so misunderstood by people that don't understand finance.

It does say more about her than it does him. Still doesn't change the fact I wouldn't trade my body for his even if he offered me his wealth.

I hope everyone understands that Jeff bezos does not have 200 billion in cash. His net worth is based on his ownership of Amazon. If Amazon suddenly lost all of their money overnight, Jeff bezos would lose his entire net worth and no longer be worth 200 billion. He does not have 200 billion in a bank account.

At that point there needs to be a cap at how much money you can have. Anything over that cap gets redistributed for the sake of the country. Jeff Bezos himself could most likely pay for universal healthcare in the US. That-s insane. No one needs that much money

The wealth is just the price of shares he owns if he sells it all only then he can ACTUALLY acquire the mentioned wealth. But if he decides to sell ALL his shares, then after a point no one would be interested to buy the shares as he is mastermind of the company.
