Will China Invade Taiwan Next? Invade? You mean reclaim? Since Taiwan is always a part of China for thousands of year.
Comparison 1: -
- Average number of bombs dropped by America EVERYDAY in foreign lands = 46-
- TOTAL number of bombs dropped by China in foreign lands in the last 40 YEARS = 0-
Comparison 2: -
- Number of American military bases outside its territory = 750-
- Number of Chinese military bases outside its territory = 1 (in Djibouti for UN mission)-
Comparison 3: -
- Distance from Chinese military base to America = 10, 000 km -
- Distance from American military base to China = 0 km (Taiwan is within China)-
Comparison 4: -
- In 2020, after pulling out of a 20-year occupation in Afghanistan, America confiscated Afghanistan-s 7 Billion dollar foreign reserves, leaving Afghanistan in desperate short of basic necessities. -
- In the autumn of 2020, China poured in humanitarian aids to Afghanistan to help Afghans weather the winter. -
Comparison 5: -
- On 3 Jan 2020, General Qasem Soleimani of Iran, was killed in a drone strike by America, while heading to Baghdad in order to engage in diplomatic discussions aimed to reduce hostility between Iran and Saudi. -
- On 10th Mar 2023, brokered by China, long time rivals Saudi and Iran reestablished diplomatic ties, marking a new beginning of the two biggest Shia and Sunni countries, bringing peace to the Middle East. -
Comparison 6: -
- Laos holds a world record: the most bombed country in the world. 7. 7 million tons of explosives were dropped in Laos, by more than 580, 000 air missions by the US Airforce on Laos between 1964 and 1973 during the Vietnam War. That-s more than three times the amount of bombs dropped in all theaters of World War II. There are still 80 million bomblets that never went off remain live, buried over 35% of land area of Laos. A staggering 270 million bomblets were dropped in a country with a population of 2. 5 million, to carpet a huge buffer zone to prevent weaponries to reach Vietnam. By 1975, 1/10th of Laos population was killed, 1/5th of the population wounded. -
- Today Laos has a high speed train more advanced than American-s, built by China after removing the unexploded bomblets. -
>> Laos, Syria, Afghanistan, where America destroyed, China goes to build. -
>>> -China threat- is real, China brings immense embarrassment to the American ruling class.

It's sad to see people from both sides fighting each other in the comments, it'll be even sadder to see them fighting each other in the civil war which never ended. But it WILL end in the next two three years, whether the west likes it or not. For people from Taiwan, you might hate the mainland as you were raised and taught by misleading informations, but please visit the mainland and see for yourself. You will not get into trouble, no one's going to harm you, and the result may surprise you. We actually quite like people from Taiwan as long as you drop the hatred and see each other as equal human beings. The west has tried so hard on separating us, especially demonize China on the media, but PLEASE, only believe on what you can actually see and actually find out for yourself, the result is going to be extremely different from what you see on the media. For westerners, please look at the map showing in this video, imagine if it was your country that's surrounded by COMMUNIST ARMY and they're FORCING you to become exactly like them, otherwise you're the CAPITALIST MONSTER that's THREATENING the whole world. Now, how do you feel about that?
reply

Taiwan is Republic of China(ROC, not a part of People-s Republic of China(PRC. Relatively speaking, CCP occupied a part of ROC, which is PRC, and KMT&DPP occupied a part of PRC, which is ROC. So it-s basically a country occupied by two respective political powers. PRC advocates that China should be -reunited- as a whole, which is basically starting a war or -when the US no longer supports ROC-, while ROC advocates(basically implies) their political power does not want to be absorbed by PRC, thus they want to be dominated by themselves. It-s kind of like the extension of China civil war. There are new opinions now such as Taiwan wants to be independent not only from the perspective of politics but also from the perspective of ethnicity (which I think is kind of disrespectful to the truth, since indigenous Taiwanese only takes a little proportion of the population. Ultimately, it-s a complicated historical issue, and it-s very likely to have a war in the future.
reply

I just realized how the perspective of people from the West and the East with the Taiwan issue is different. Most people from Southeast Asia like myself do not exactly view this as invasion of Taiwan, but rather the return of Taiwan to China as one whole nation. You have to understand that China and most southeast asian countries fell prey to colonialists who extorted our country for a century. For the Chinese, Taiwan is the last reminder of that century of humiliation from colonialists. The Chinese are proud and nationalistic people. This is more than jsut economic gains for them, but also their national identity.
reply

This entire geopolitical struggle is based on a wrong assumption that Taiwan is fundamental. It is not. First Chain Strategy already bottlenecks all trade routes. Taiwan is largely irrelevant to this goal. Furthermore, it is not enough to secure a bottleneck. In a case of war, trade routes can be intercepted and thus it is important to secure all surrounding major bases. Having control just of one island does not guarantee security of any trade routes.
Ah humans. So much fuss, effort and energy spent over something which is ultimately just a lie.

Some kids in class were insisting Taiwan is not a country.
Many others I know have done the same.
Math teacher is from Taiwan (she also speaks 2 other languages chines and Japanese so 4 languages in total including English I think that-s cool.
I asked her to verify (I was sure it was its own country before but I did this to prove to the others) if Taiwan was independent.
She says yes! -China tries to say it is theirs, but we are a separate country. -
Take that, Houston (that-s actually his name.

reply

So pretty much if China wants to make the US waste a bunch of money they just need to start amassing troops and ships in the Taiwanese strait and wait for the US to send a whole bunch of military into the area and then just stay there? Because thats what I would do if I was them. Just make a base there and start amassing troops in the area. Since they are at home it wouldn-t cost them nearly as much as US troops that would have to be deployed halfway across the world for it -
reply

In an event of a war between China and US over Taiwan I have little doubt as an external observer that US would rather completely destroy the island than let China have it whereas China would want the island intact. Maybe that says something about who your real enemies are. China should provide incentives for Taiwan to join them recognizing some relative autonomy but with full access to the pacific waters. US choke zone is extremely audacious.

-TSMC is likely the most powerful corporation in the world that you've never heard of-
If by -you've never heard of- you mean -has been spoken about constantly in political circles and in stock investing, that most people are aware of by now- then you'd be right, I literally own stock in their company
I'm surprised when I speak to someone who doesn't know what it is, way to look down on your audience

reply

I'm calling it now, Taiwan will rule the world one day
I'm astonished at their level of strategic planning, I learn a lot about the strategies of different countries but I've never seen anything as expansive and threatening as Taiwan's geopolitical strategies are to any invading force, it truly is an incredible island with an intelligent and competent population

reply

Taiwan is part of China. Both PRC and ROC recognize this. In addition, ROC is not equal to Taiwan, and if ROC is equal to Taiwan, it will not only be contrary to the facts, but also sell wars. Because no central government will allow local governments to be in the same position as themselves, this will only be a war, but not an invasion
reply

China and Taiwan are the same country. Most of the world recognises that fact. China does not need to use military means to unite the two economies. Practical considerations will bring them together while the western world declines as it isolates itself from the rapidly growing alternative BRICS + global supply chain.
reply

Also, another mistake in this video. TSMC is not as important as this video makes it to be. There are Intel, Samsung which are somewhat competitive and can replace TSMC. Their chips are not as advanced, but still competitive in most areas which do not demand state of the art performance.
reply

Really the only reason why china wants Taiwan is for the semiconductor market and all of the natural resources in the sea around that area. Trump was right in wanting for more thing's made in America.
reply

You left out important details!
That technology doesn-t belong to Taiwan, the design is made in the USA and the machines are made by ASML WITH critical components only made in the US.

reply

Had to dislike this video. It is overly dramatic over Taiwan semi conductor industry while it being completely unaware that there are other producers of chips.
reply

No mention on the agreement that Taiwan would be given back to China? Also what do you think will happen if war between 2 countries with nukes will happen
reply

This piece of work is by far the most thorough explanation of this entanglement as it dealt through every aspect of the tension among all parties involved.
reply

it's our vital part of China. Use the invade? this word is ridiculous. nowadays, Unless the USA, which nation can be titled the
real -invader. --

reply

Maybe in the 26th century, humanity managed to build a table where leaders can each measure their dick, then we could save us the pissing contest.
reply

NMSL, do you understand ONE CHINA POLICY? Over 180 countries accept it. Taiwan is a part of China. There's not a country called Taiwan. ---
reply

I believe that if Taiwan were to ever get invaded America would try their best to make a FAB for citizenship type of deal with them.
reply

How can you use the word invade. Taiwan has belonged to China since ancient times, although there are political conflicts now
reply

It-s kinda scary when seeing the raise of AI, since what they can do compare to humans will give whoever owns a major edge.
reply

Very informative presentation.
31: 00 the PRC needs what they would perceive as a weak or indecisive president.

reply

Small error the communist party never controlled taiwan at all, the modern chinese never set foot on taiwan
reply

Excuse me? do you call it -invade-? That is -recover- while those protestants want to be independent!
