Transnistria is highly civilized country with 3 (three) official languages and schools, with mutual respect of diverce ethnics. Moldova, to the contrary, just as Baltic statelets, is barbaric tribal tiranny, where only titular tribal speech (Moldovan or Romanian) is allowed and enforced as language of instruction to everyone else. If you are an uncultured tribal peasant with no attractive attributes whatsoever - do NOT expect other folks in your area gladly accepting you as local breed of titular master race. They would rather rebel against you, and rigtfully so. Even if your barbarism is internationally recognized.

In Poland there was no referendum to join NATO, because there was no relevant political group who would oppose it, and there was close to 90% agreement in polls. Seriously it was never question if we need to join, but only how and when. It was absolutely top priority for very new country (3rd Polish Republic was established in 1990. I cannot believe today when I hear people using phrase expansion of NATO. It is just sad.
