Cotton destroyed multiple places in the world, US cotton in Arizona destroyed the Colorado river. no longer reaches the ocean. But nobody cares about that delta, it is outside the US.
It destroyed Egypt's capability of feeding its population and Egypt is now in water scarcity, the former bread basket of the Roman Empire and the country on the Nile. This will be a huge problem in the future if it is not addressed. Cotton also destroyed Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan as well. The Aral Sea should be restored, all irrigation ceased until it happens. it can be done but it needs drastic intervention.

Only Problem would be Trying to be Patient while Diego attempt to Explain Louis the Earth extend even after the NATO regions.
And Asia Is Bigger than Any other Continent. so States would be Bigger there.
That's why Chinese and India are so many. and might have more Productivity.
They don't do that to Harm America Economy Intentionally.
They do that because they have to Work for Eating.
.
. Otherwise would be Communism
. Or Lobbyism.
. Or Family.
[In the Good Way]
. In any case we are more Victims than Patients.

This is a great video, thank you for making it! But although it shows correct facts, it only focuses on the negative aspects and doesn't mention any good things that happened with the country. The 20th century was terrible indeed but it also included the rise of education, industry, and cities with housing pretty much for everyone. I think it is important to at least mention that people did not constantly suffer for a hundred years: )

. why haven't they shut down the canals that were stopping flow to the Aral sea since its obviously known what the problem is If the cotton fields are going to die anyways, what's the point of keeping the canals going and destroying the environment This seems completely avoidable and unnecessary.
If you say it's because it's expensive, yeah, well, so is turning your country into an unproductive, toxic desert.

khashagan = 13 BN BBL crude oil, the largest discovery in the past thirty years. To put this into perspective, the world consumes 100 MN BBL per day. so this should have us covered for about 130 days!
I'm being sarcastic of course. it's great that Kazakhstan is reaping the rewards of its natural endowments at last but our oil, gas & coal consumption is stupefying.

A few mistakes I should point out:
Guryev and Vernyi aren't Northern forts, Guryev is the modern-day city of Atyrau located in the West, and Vernyi is the Soviet name for Almaty, located in the South-East
Also, it would've made sense to mention the forceful relocation of ethnic Koreans to Central Asia by Stalin during WWII
Other than that, a solid video

With oil riches, Kazakhstan can afford to dismantle the cotton industry along the Syr Darya and the wheat industry in the North. both leading hopefully to a recovery of the Aral Sea and fertile soil. as it has uranium there is also a huge potential for energy production and with plentiful energy it is possible to reverse the ecological destruction it suffered.

This is a nice propaganda film to prep the general opinion for a Western colonization of Kazakhstan to save it.
Funny how the Kazakh population grew during the 20th century, the worst century for Kazakhstan.
By the way check which companies own most of Kazakh land the natural resources now.

I really like your topics, the amount of work put into the videos and the facts you present. However, your background 'music' and over-emphasized narration make it really stressful to listen. Is there a chance to tone this done to make it easier to concentrate on your great content

I myself am from Kazakhstan and let's not forget about the devastating corruption. Billions of dollars just robbed away from the population in broad daylight. There's NO WAY any single one of the politicians in this country owns anything without my money being involved

If you're interested in the reasons for the inability to exploit fertile lands to produce food, look up Trofim Lysenko and you'll understand what continuing to go against scientific evidence to promote one's own ideologies can lead to

Now, I was under the impression that Kazakhstan was very nice place.
From plains of Tareshek to northern fence of Jewtown.
I heard that back around '06 or so.
