I used to constantly do all nighters for about 4 semesters, then my brain stopped working like it used to do before.
I just underestimated my potential which I shall advice you, if you're a student, to not do it. Study at your own pace. In 1 night, it's not possible for anyone to mug up everything. The brain during the 5th semester, was alert when I wished to sleep and hours were less than 7. Then in the exams, I just made serious blunders by forgetting 25% of what I knew.
So, I would advise anyone that if you are committing for all night study, take a nap for 2 hours the next day, and if you are sleepy, you should immediately sleep without thinking about exams even if it's the next day, for at least 8 hours and then wake up and continue studying.
Time table is crucial. Don't think with night stand study all the time will help you everytime. You wouldn't even realise when your brain starts malfunctioning and you live to regret it. Not everyone can survive for 4 semesters straight. One can survive only 1 semester (not 180 days) and it's normal. Sleep is the most important element, remember the scores in your exam is a testament of your health and well-being.

I know this, lots of teachers and relatives and friends and who doesnt advice me this. BUT, heres the problem, i dont seem to be experiencing what you say. Coffee doesn't affect me, when i'm sleepy, i'm sleepy. My body doesnt seem to follow the Circadian Rhythm.
Normally, i sleep at 2am and wake at 6am for school and i have to take a 2 hour nap at around 2pm. Heres the problem, this isn't because I am a procrastinator (which I am, but even whenever i sleep regularly, sometimes upto 8 hours of continuous sleep, i tend to be sleepier in the afternoon and the mind only starts working around 7pm on a good night or as far as 10pm or 11pm normally. This is why i am forced to study late night, and yes, i know this is different from the topic of the video, all nighters, but is this not similiar
One thing I do experience are microsleeps, which indeed do mess up with my comprehension skills during the exams, but what am I supposed to do then, I am unable to revise the day before and the brain only wakes up when its night. I think it is possible due to my shift from a country that has its timing 2. 5 hours behind where I currently reside. I dont know, thoughts anyone

I am preparing for re-exam and second term exam at the same time

That feeling of being drunk when you are awake 19 hours is so 3: 04 true. Every day I sleep 5 hours and I'm always feeling like this. Is the worse feeling you can ever feel. You are never concentrated, you get distracted easily, you don't pay attention to your class and surroundings, you lose interest on going out with friends, you just want to be alone. I hate feeling like this everyday. Maybe I need to start sleeping earlier, despite all the HW left to be done.

Here's my trick: Get to your classroom early and take a nap at your desk until test time. It'll take the edge off the sleepiness, give you a bit of relief, and get some of your long-term memory working. Ideally, you'll get there at least one or two hours early, so you can have a decent nap.
Make sure you nap in the classroom, not somewhere else - because in the classroom, someone will wake you up at exam time, whether it's a student or a teacher.

So I fell sleep in the afternoon and stayed up all night but let me tell you, although I read all the lessons, I couldn't answer the questions perfectly. Not true though. I never had a fixed sleeping schedule, but I have pretty good GPA. Also, I perform quite well for a problem solving based questions (the entire paper was cade study) after not sleeping the entire night with exam in the evening. So, I really doubt the video here. Perhaps, it's individual. Regardless, it's best to have good sleeping habits.

pulled an all nighter for 2 days, slept when i got back from school got up at 12 pm when to school at 9 came back, slept at 6 the next day so i missed school and stauyed up till 12, i relize it was bc i stayed in the washroom with bright light on, now its 4: 38 and im in the bathroom!
Edit: ive decided to sleep after 2 months of prosponong it to 2

To all the parents as a student dont ask for your child to do more than he could handle or in general personally due to this ive been pulling all nighters in result of burning out and now i cant do anything while my mental health is declining, please to all the parents let your child go with their flow and if they ever need help theyll ask you

Here it's been said we need to sleep for 7 hours, I am a teen (17 years old, 12 th standard) and right now preparing for an exam to enter medical school in india, the exam is highly competitive and nearly all my friends I know only sleep for 6 hours or less! And I have been along with them sleeping like this for nearly the last 2 years!

not my fault i can pull an all nighter and be sleepy the whole day. yet STILL snap into extreme wakefulness the moment it hits 00: 00. its as if my body just wants to avoid sleeping at all costs, and it's annoying since ill have wasted the day whilst being sleepy and still not be able to fix my sleep schedule.

I can confirm the euphoria and drunkenness, last week I stayed up all night studying calculus, and we had a geology exam before the test, I was sitting in the front row and I kept humming what apeared to be obscene cusswords at different kinds of rocks and Bowens reactions.

This happens to procrastinators - I have been one of these students. These days I’ve conquered my procrastination but that’s years later - Pomodoro sessions of 60m work/20m break help the most. The 20min have to be an actual break though, completely isolated from work

Rome wasn't build in a day but my professor who loves giving out a hefty 5-8k essay due every week makes me laugh-cry at how miserable and demanding my academics are. i haven't touched grass in a good week just absorbing information like an amalgamated sponge.

I find the best way to get rest is to just simply stop working when I don’t feel like it.
Would’ve probably get better grades if I pulled all nighters but managed decent & passing grades in college with sufficient amount of sleep

I wish i could sleep more then 4-6 hours, but thats not going to happen. Or just sleep in general. As of late i have barely sleep in the last 3 months and i have no idea why this has started to happen.

My school made the PWIWUWHWBDKDU decision of having finals start 10 days after second month exams end
I also learned I'll have to study math on my birthday for the 3rd year in a row
