Actual druid speaking here (not one of the romantic druids that base their beliefs off of Iolo Morganwg's.
Druids did not believe trees housed deities. Trees were certainly sacred to them and they learned as much as they could, though this was because they were or at least came from people who lived in forests, where trees were their food, their medicine, their tools, and their homes.
Also, the word druid doesn't mean oak-wise, that's a common misconception. While oak was certainly a tree sacred to them, there were 19 others, so naming themselves for learning just one doesn't make any sense. Rather, the word meant sorcerer or wizard.

I love how theres so much misinformation out there. they constantly just give England credit for everything like they are gods gift to mankind. the narrators always avoid mentioning the connection of language to ancient Egypt! Infant the entire English alphabet and dictionary and dialect was specifically designed to hold triple cryptic meanings within its spelling and spoken sound. i can here subtle vowels that sound Japanese, Egyptian, Greek, etc basically English is all the languages forged into one melting pot, but a specific layer dedicated to the Egyptian pharaohs king list.

Tell me about it, I'm learning Japanese and a lot of Kanji have radicals (parts of the drawing) which can have meaning within the written word itself and combine with other kanji to mean a multitude of things. You can infer a lot of origins of kanji within the meaning word itself.
