Find out how students can share their ideas as TED Talks here: Despite water covering 71% of the planets surface, more than half the worlds population endures extreme water scarcity for at least one month a year. Current estimates predict that by 2040, up to 20 more countries could be experiencing water shortages. These statistics raise a startling question: is the Earth running out of clean water? Balsher Singh Sidhu takes a closer look at water consumption. Lesson by Balsher Singh Sidhu, directed by Kozmonot Animation Studio

I'm probably the dumbest person alive but I have to ask. How do middle eastern countries get fresh water. Like Israel and saudi arabia. Do they not have massive plants that filter out the impurities? Boil it sterilize it. In New York the water we drink come from recycled plants that take the sewer water filter it boil it clean it and sent it back to our taps.

Planet may or may not loose water but we are running out of clean water. There are thousands of reason for this. Pharmaceuticals/ chemical dumping has has made ground water posionous, arsenic posioning being found in North-east India. Industrial waste to river made river almost unusable and ultimately dried at many places.

Forever grateful from Michigan!
Ensure you and all of your descendants have fresh water to the end of time. Just one acre with a private well in Michigan takes care of you and your family forever. I am a licensed real estate broker here and can help. Bart at Bartholomew James dot com.

We have enough fresh water for drinking only we need new water treatment technology, all currently water treatment technology should be banned. check national primary drinking water regulation. all water technology is using banned contamination to treat water.

Ted want children, because children run on emotion and are easily manipulated.
They already have a generation of western children believing that their parents using a garden hose to water the lawn, is causing drought in Africa and killing people.
Lol.

What if in the pipes, there is a boiler between it, because when you boil it it's clean, it would help maybe?
There also way more ways of making it clean that are even faster
Welp when I'm gonna be rich I'm gonna use that money to make my idea.

Gatorade isn't an infinite resource, so it cannot replace water. Never waste water and be grateful for what you have. Because there are some countries who don't have access to clean water.

Where can I find this information? I want to write about water for a school project and the statistics you presented are great, but I can't use a Ted-Ed video as a source

We can make all the water drinkable, just boil salt water and take the steam coming out and then we have fresh water. Simple as that.
