According to legend, once every thousand years a host of sea monsters emerges from the depths to demand tribute from the floating city of Atlantartica. As the ruler of the city, youd always dismissed the stories until today, when they rose out of the roiling waters, surrounded your city and demanded a ransom of pearls. Can you figure out which chest of pearls is the ransom? Dan Finkel shows how. Lesson by Dan Finkel, directed by Artrake Studio

Evacuate the city and take all the pearls with you. Allow the sea monsters to destroy your city which hasn't grown in 1000 years. Rebuild with your vast pearl wealth in a place where sea monsters do not attack.
These riddles are much easier to solve sans math.

simple anwser: if your ancestors dont tell you how to handle in a very specific situation, like, lets just say seven leviathan lords appearing out of nowhere accompanied by 12 mermites, they just want you to die. also what does a leviathan do with a pearl?

So I goofed up; I got to 1001, then only multiplied it by single digits (2002, 7007, etc) And figured it was chest 5. (The numerals being X0 0X)
I was wrong, but I was kinda right, right? Or am wrong about being kinda right?

Why do they put more than 1001 pearls in a box at a time? I mean, its enough, its not like there are any rules stating that each box must contain at least X amount of pearls
reply

Just imagine the troll that put down 5 chests, while only one is required. Trolling people 1000 years into the future, that's some next level trolling
reply

Got this one for once lol. But TBH the better solution is just to split off a division of your army, quickly count out 1001 pearls, and give them those.
reply

Atlantartica = Atlantic + Antartica
Me: Hold up, this can't happen since Atlantic is already in the ocean
Ted-Ed: Hold my videos

What if at the ancient time they used different number base system than 10, like binary system, would the problem be different.
reply

I think they just come once every 1000 years because it takes freaking long to count 100100+1001n pearls if you have no fingers.
