Three things i would like to point out
1. The British came to the sub-continent in the early 16s.
2. There wasnt partation only on religious differences, there was also discrimination of lifestyle and culture.
3. The boundary comission was rigged by Modi, as he said to increase the number of states, and in return british leader, Mountbatten wil have one more day as primeminister of India. This offer was also given to Pakistan, but they declined.
Proof of this is that when Muhammad Ali Jinnah took the partation problem in account, Mountbatten said to be thankful, as he gave Lahore to Pakistan. Ferozpur, Gurdaspur, Kashmir and Hyderabad were expected to be of Pakistan, but were given to India, in which Kashmir became a disputed territory.

My great grandmother used to tell the tales(to my mom)of how they left everything they had, the houses known as havelis(basically palace, clothes utensils, majority of the money and jewellery just like that when they moved to india. They had nothing. No land, no job, no buisness. Lived long years in poverty and started everything from scratch back again.
Partition was a really dark period and people who went through, it still brings tears to their eyes.
There is a whole museum in Amritsar about the partition. Stories of people, the letters, refugee utensils, and one section of it discusses the violence against women which was truly disturbing to the core. I request everyone to pay it a visit if they can.

During school times, we have learnt about how strategically British companies planned how to take over India. The easiest way was to divide people by religions.
As a bengali, it really saddens me. Because majority of the freedom fighters were bengali. British divided us in three parts: West Bengal, some parts in then Assam and then East Pakistan (current Bangladesh. Living in Assam, I have faced discrimination for speaking my mother tongue, in Bangladesh I would be slaughtered for being a Hindu. That's how British implemented deep hatred in us. Divide and rule really works.

Jus want to correct one point in the video,
Gandhi and nehru wanted secular united india, NOT HINDU INDIA that is why india is secular country (you can compare the % of minority in each country. Whereas jinnah wanted pakistan, reason is muslim might not getting proper recognition and representation in hindu majority country (fuelled by british.
PS. Gandhi wasn't representing hindu. Gandhi was killed by hindu nationalist because he was appeasing muslims.
- a secular indian.

It's easy to blame others for your problems, overlooking the truth conveniently. If the British were solely to be blamed for partition, why are pogroms and persecution of Muslims and other minorities still happening in India? It's been more than 70 years, yet the RSS people are openly calling for mass killing of Muslims. It's not always the white man's fault, people need to confront the reality.

The seeds of communal violence and Religious tensions planted by Britishers have grown into serious international tension and both the sides are suffering from it's ill effects and have reached a point of no return.
Still, I strongly believe that one day both the countries will unite. people will live together in harmony apart from all the differences.
Hopefully

all of the people insulting the british. sure they created a line but that idea really sparked in the mind of muslim indians at the time and well it was also the fault of the hindus for not giving muslims there equal share in the government.
(btw this is my point of view, i understand if u think this is wrong)

Are you sure you got permission from the indian regime? (the UN just downgraded india's status to an electorate Autocracy. it is so sensitive to any negative opinions and is actively pouring an abhorrent amount of time and resources to ensure the rest of the world can't criticize it. Pathetic in all honesty.

Um, I am an Indian here.
A lot of us still hate the Pakistanis. I am 12, and even when I was as young as 7, my classmates already thought India good Pakistan bad. Its really deep. Whenever we hate a person, we call them that they are like Pakistanis. Yup the hate is still going on. Thanks a lot, British.

1: 31 That is a straight up Lie. It was Way more complicated then that.
Sikhs and Hindus were and have always been deeply connected communities.
I knew this video will be a misrepresentation but didn't think it would be this Bad, what can one expect from Westerners narratives?
