Ancient Rome was at its apex from the second century BC through the second century AD. During the Pax Romana of the first and second centuries AD, Rome benefited from the expansion of its empire, with vast amounts of wealth and diverse cultural influences flooding into its borders. What was Ancient Rome like? It had a little bit of everything. The city of Rome was a bustling urban center full of commoners, animals, and politicians - all running into each other on crowded streets, in public buildings, and at any number of sporting events. Life in Ancient Rome was full of excitement, with plenty of opportunities for entertainment and spectacle contributing to the cosmopolitan atmosphere

+Weird History; just because they had to use a communal passed to - as you so eloquently put it, 'wow their bum', that - and really NOTHING else was 'weird' about them.
In fact, we- not even 2 thousand years after the collapse of the (Western) Roman empire, owe them much. We are an extension of them, and that's a pretty damn amazing fact, and as i said, there's NOTHING 'weird' whatsoever.
BTW; the eastern empire, also known as the Byzantine empire thought themselves to be as 'Roman'as the west was, and they lasted 'til the Arabs conquered then, and that was LESS them 1 thousands years ago, so, any way you look it, there's NOTHING 'weird' whatsoever about this amazing empire.

You are really shitting on the natural roles of women here. They were relegated to being mothers, you say. They could own land, they had respect, they were not treated like cattle in any way (unlike in Middle Eastern and Chinese society, and what greater job is there in the world than being a mother and mistress of a household?
Women aren't made great by being pushed into men's roles. Imagine how great it is to have men handle all the things outside the home, bring home the money, and so the women are free to live their lives without all that pressure. It is not a privilege to be a man forced out in the workplace, it's a hard role, and one that women aren't meant for.

Bruh you make being a mother sound horrible.
When it's opposite and should be praised higher than any fecking career there is! Plus back then it wasn't like men where going into jobs they love they where putting bread on the table life was much harder and people got value from doing whatever their roles entailed like women weren't suicidal depressos what is more rewarding that being a parent this is for both father and mother? Nothing.
Funny you made the same authority comment on marriage between the man and woman that Andrew Tate is today in trouble for, the world's mad.

It's important to remember people of the past were just us in a different situation. Once they had the means to make them, Romans made plumbing and apartment buildings. women didn't have the same rights as men, but just like women in all places and times they found ways to earn a living. the Colosseum was a place of cruel punishment for alleged criminals, but the gladiator shows were controlled and rarely involved actually murdering the stars - not incredibly different entertainment from wrestling or boxing today.

Watching this, I always knew we had not changed at all as a species (society, humanity whatever unifying word you want to use) everything they have said can be applied today. People more interested in the media or circuses or sports or whatever. We stay so invested on these commodities that we miss out on the important concepts we strive for. Justice, equality, good politics, this is all happening now. The expression learn history to not repeat it, is absolutely applicable to every single human.

Women on the lower end of financial luck and social nobodies were relegated to being mothers and providers. As if that is the most horrible fate a woman could endure, and certainly no woman would ever desire, let alone find fulfillment in the opportunity to be a mother and care for her family.

Draftees in the US Army were slaves of the government, and they died in the hundreds of thousands
In the early days in America, people in England sold themselves into 7 years of slavery to pay for their expense on bringing them tp America by boat.

Human babies/toddlers dont even like to poop in public so why do we think the romans did? I agree with another YTr that said there is now some proof of screens or drapes in those ruins.

The Romans were the first people to invent the takeaway. Having meals delivered to there place of work or even homes.

Probably the Romans would have thought the noisy, overcrowded and polluted modern cities to be hell on earth.
