in a salt land where no one lives.
But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.

I think this sort of thing says a lot about the societies they came from. The Aztec people's technology and progress were more focused on being clean, providing their people with healthy food and water and ways for everyone to get around safely, and the art of healing the sick and injured - meanwhile European technology was focused on weapons, 'progress' regardless of the human and environmental costs living in filth, medicinal practices pretty much everyone else considered barbaric and stealing from others, only to destroy the technology and advances the civilizations they invaded already had in place while murdering innocent people by the thousands. The one and only thing they managed to do better than anyone else was make weapons and infect everyone else with their diseases - even a lot of their weapons were essentially stolen and warped inventions of other people.

Im a descendant of Moctezuma (changing my legal name to Motecuhzoma) & I am in a space where I am letting my intuition guide me in reclaiming my roots, like my growing hair. I think many of us who come from brown backgrounds, brown people here who dont know where to begin. feel a little at a loss in where to start. What is ours now? it is painful and watching this video made me cry because I hadnt learned about something so simple as hygiene from my people until now. And I look at my daily life and the way I am and have always been & it clicked with some things. Tlazocamati friend

Something That must be correct but by the way all the immediate and social Influencers is that the to how the some english documentaries talk about aztecs make some wrong end lier statements. for example last weekend I watched one innpluto tv, choose one documentary aboutthw aztecs it's called the aztec the pyramid of war. and they talk about they had building their homes with Adobe and fecal residual waste to built their homes. in whole my life I never heard about that and it go away and that statement is goingbto be a fact without fundament.

I was wondering. Sanitation is low in the areas of Mexico Ive been in and Ive gotten sick and my family enough to just not eat the food there because bathrooms and hand washing and touching food with hands was done in such a way that it was clear most didnt even think 2 seconds about sanitation.
It must have been from the Spanish side.
But all those gods always leads the a country being conquered or destroyed historicallypretty much 100% of the time

I visited Mexico and took a tour to the pyramids where we were told that the Aztecs had come and covered over the pyramids that were built by the Mayans with their own stones and shells and whatnot and then attributed it to their culture giving the Mayans no credit and trying to basically erase the Mayans from history so that would be an interesting show for you to do

Cleanliness is still a priority to most Mexican up to this day, my grandmother and mom would wake up early in the morning and sweep the road in front of the house, this used to blow my mind when I was little because the street sweeper came by our house twice a week lol

I think steam baths were early attempts at disinfecting the air. Spirits/germs.
I think that most early medicinal practices were not even slightly dumb. They knew that something had to be happening, some entity had to be causing the condition.

The heavy wigs and wool clothes Europeans came with. Not to mention, Europe being seasonal bathed. Due to long winters. Plus European men having more body hair. Really made for a disgusting smell.
