What Life Was Like In Fascist Italy

Rating: 4.0; Vote: 1
The period between WWI and WWII brought about major political changes in Italy, and yet it's fairly uncommon to discuss what actually went on in Benito Mussolini's fascist state during those years. Mussolini implemented policies and reforms that led to a wave of censorship, nationalist propaganda, and widespread militarism, making daily life under Mussolini a tenuous existence

Censorship exists today and even contests Fascism by many accounts, because at least the media back then wasn't trying to hide the fact that they were directly funded and connected to the state like today.
Nationalist propaganda has simply been replaced with anti-nationalist self-serving propaganda, a system that I find to be much more egregious and destructive to society than nationalist fervor ever was. As we can see from the historical tenants of Communism, anti-nationalism becomes pro-party, pro-state propaganda which leads to mob rule and conformity to a regime itself rather than to the tenants of what a country should stand for.
Militarism on one hand is a very strict, disciplined society, one that forces conformity and admiration to authority. On the other hand, it helps to retain order and allows the government the means to enforce strict laws against criminals, corruption, and saboteurs. Something that has been shown to be immensely beneficial to a society in the long-run; look at the prosperity of massive empires like the Roman empire, Byzantine empire, Carthage, and many others whose golden ages as a military super power and economically bountiful periods with little unrest was correlated with increasing militaristic order and conformity. Periods of great unrest, economic despair, and a weakening, corrupt, bureaucratic regime leading to mass collapse of these empires came through periods of disorder and extreme socio-economic changes.

I lost count of how many problems are in this video. My Great Grand Daddy was a Polish Israelite, he studied the Tora and was a Christian convert. he said, if you live in Judea, then you are a Jew, Jew is not a color nor a race of people, but many races of people, but Israelites originate from Judea, If you're an Israelite from Germany, You might be a German. too many different samples of Fallacies from bad information from bad history to bad understanding of grammar about these titles name religions and regions correlating with their definitions and thesis of what a Jew is. If you would just stop and rethink your grammar, it's obvious.

I had one grandfather partisan and one monarchist. The first one fought against fascism in the civil war (43-45) but at the end of the war saved several fascist lives from wall shooting, because he always said that an Italian cant kills another Italian. The other grandfather became public prosecutor and then magistrate of Italian republic, and till his death (2021) he always sticked up for the king of Italy and monarchy, he hated the republic and said that the real owner of Italy is the savoias family (he wasnt fascist)

Sounds like what the racist democrats and the lefty loons implement these days. Using their version of the black shirts Antifa and BLM to riot against innocent free Americans. Censorship on all social platforms. FBI and CIA better known as the gestapo attacks on free Americans. Control of lower courts, thank god they dont have the Supreme Court! All will fail in the end the globalist, dummy dems, and loony left will be on the wrong side of history.

well tbh, if you know about italy pre mussolini. it was a tenuous existence as well too. Italy was barely a new united kingdom and was still incredibly rural and agriculturally centred.
plus having to deal with the mafia and other gangs added to it.
Mussolini brought some resemblance of a nation together, even if by force. Then went too far. i mean look at those shoes hes wearing on the March on Rome 3: 07 LOL

foreign born jewish people were deported Is this a sick joke? All jewish people in Italy were deported to death camps and slaughtered regardless of where they were born. and why focusing on the story of one jewish prisoner who was not harmed when most were killed in concentration camps?

Good video and accurate facts. Except that--as we now see openly--fascism did not end in Italy after WW2, but reemerging. And fascist ideas in the US that existed in the 1900's that we never talked about have now grown. What I like about history--it is forgotten, and then repeated.

My grandfather used to tell me about how everything was rationed right before the war. He was allowed 100 grams of bread per day (less than a quarter pound. When he was called for his medicals before being drafted he weighed about 50kg (105lbs. He was deemed unfit for purpose.

Try next time to cut the propaganda and just give us the facts as it is, we will decide on the moral issues as Americans are the last people on earth to preach morality to others, just ask George W Bush and Tony Blair.

Now the government just monitor everyone through their phones and children are still being brainwashed. Look at all the fear and mind control about climate, gender, war etc going on now

I have a bathroom book that stated the train system in Italy was upgraded mostly before The Head came into power. I've never looked into it more deeply than that, though.

The crass ignorance and bad taste of the Americans can be seen in every single moment of this pseudo-documentary. The latter is therefore involuntarily comical.

It was heaven compared to what Italians have now. No mafia, people working together and decent territorial defense force. Why did he go with the Germans.

That evil man is the reason why the grandparents on my mother's side left Italy for Boston. You didn't dare say his name in my grandparents' house.

I'm disappointed you didn't show the images from Piazzale Loretto in April of 1945 to reinforce that Italian fascism was dead.
