When it comes to Greek mythology, some of the stories you'll find out there are pretty strange. Goddesses being birthed from clam shells, women being kidnapped by Hades, and plenty of stories of cheating god husbands (we're looking at you here, Zeus. But if you go past the more well-known myths, things start to get even weirder. Yes, those wacky gods on Mount Olympus have a serious strange streak that would shock even the most open-minded historian.

I know that it might be weird and kind of crazy, but my favorite is Medusa, and the reason why is because well she was supposed of been beautiful. She was lovely, according to the poem until she was raped in Athena's temple by Poseidon. Athena then punished her for this violation, by turning her into the monstrous, stony-glanced creature that we know. And I have that same kind of anger and if I had that power, I would do the same thing I don t like people for the most part people are mean people are actually cruel. I was raped if I could hurt the one that hurt me then I d be happy. It is turned me into a very angry person and I know karma will come to that person someday if it already hasn t entered, those that have ever been mean to me, it will come

The origin of the Minotaur is rather interesting. Prince Minos of Crete preys to the god Posidion for a sign to prove to the people that he is the rightful heir. So he sends him a pure white bull provived he sacrifices the animal in Posidon's name when he's reconized as king. Instead of following Posidon's instructions, Minos selfishly sacrifices a lesser bull as keeps the white bull for breeding. Enraged, Posidon punishes Minos twice. First he drives the bull mad, reeking havoc across the island of Crete. Second he made Minos' wife, Queen Pasiphae, lust for the creature so much that she ordered the inventor Daidalos to craft a cow dummy so she could mate with the bull. From this union she would give birth to the Minotaur.

Evidently, the notorious gangster became locked in his car and ate himself to death.

I'm glad you think they are weird too. I wonder if the weirdness is just the story tellers trying to get more likes. Many ancient religions were genuinely disturbing. But they are worth learning about.

For me, the weirdest story from Greek Mythology is when Poseidon assaulted Medusa (before Athena transformed her into a monster) she gave birth to Pegasus.
