As a kid I ended up once with one of those toys - a submarine or something - where you put two tablets inside and it goes up and down in the water. Like a baking powder sub, but with two different chemicals. I later was fooling around with them and figured out that whatever it is specifically that they make, the black sidewalk ants loved it, but didn't long survive their buffet.

Before the discovery, anatomists had absolutely no idea they were there -- which is crazy considering the number of human dissections there have been.

W h a t? Who's telling a story about penicillin being discovered on a sandwich? The whole point was that mold-- seen as a blight to studying microbes -- could be useful. Like I don't. I don't understand how the sandwich thing makes sense to anyone?
