Henry VIII is where we get the term Family jewels from to describe a man’s scrotum aka balls. He wore precious jewels in a sack around his waist supposedly to keep them safe. I think there was more to the story in that he wanted people to see how rich he was. The bigger the bag was the more jewels he had.

Weird History, wrong at the start. Henry ruled England only, not the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom of Scotland and England came about in 1603, and later on, formalized in the early 17th century during the reign of Queen Anne.

That accident - being thrown off a horse - resulted in a severe head injury and a massive shift in his personality. Apparently, Henry VIII was a pretty good guy before he hit brain-damaged.

It would be cool if they taught us these things about him. Would make his life more interesting to learn about and even relate to if needed.

There's no way in hell Henry wasn't diabetic with how much crap he ate. I can't have a cookie without it spiking my blood sugar to 300.

The weirdest part of this history is that Henry VIII managed to rule the United Kingdom considering it wasn’t united until 1707.
