Few places placed as much importance on physical fitness as the city-states of ancient Greece. In the pursuit of athletic excellence, the Greeks developed ideas and methods that are still remarkably applicable to the present day. Such fundamental fitness concepts as a proper warm-up and cool-down have their origins in the sandy gymnasiums of Athens and Sparta. While the dress code of the modern gym is a little stricter, the lessons gleaned from those ancient workouts are well worth a look. lol. They modeled statues from African bodies. The Olympics came from African competitive games. Sorry. I’m sure they were tough but the culture’s exaggerated by you know how. I thought we know better now. Slowly but surely the truth is coming out about ancient civilizations from all over the world. The Christians ruined historical accuracy and stole and lied and exaggerated and burned and destroyed so they could recreate history. They’re just Qanon people. The money, privilege and resources keeps them in power, not genetics by any means. They’re all on PEDs with mental disorders. Give me a break.

They weren't. to be technical, getting swole as it's now termed usually refers to atypical, abnormal muscle development, i. e. the effects of steroids, growth hormones, etcetera. I don't believe these anabolic aids were available back then, at least not in the way they're available today. To cut to the chase, there was (and still is) genetic meddling and tampering between interdimensional beings and mankind. maybe the Greek portrayal of vastly hulk-ish men was in reference and homage to the demigods of old.

Have I ever worked out like an ancient Greek If by that you mean exercising ones core fundamentals by chasing and then forcing myself on olive-oil-slicked up naked young boys trying to preserve their prepubescent virginity - then the answer is NO. I'll stick to wearing clothes and exercising at home.

They also didn’t work for 8 hours, 5 days a week where they could easily be subjected to burn out, so they had more free time and focus to get fit.
Also people walked everywhre back then, areas were more walkable. They didn’t spent half the time in a car stuck in traffic.

The phrase skin in the game is derived from a famous Athenian gymnasium, which had a sign at the entrance which said Strip or stay out--in other words, don't expect to come inside and criticize anyone's body or performance unless you're a participant.

because they had no machines to do the work for them. they had to do it themselves thus it gave them muscles. its why we're all fat now. everything does everything for us so we never go outside to do anything so we just sit on our arses and get fat lol
