To all the leftists/Democrats out there that say 'NO OIL' at the same time as 'SAVE THE WHALES'. y'all are hypocrites. The exploitation of subterranean fossil fuels, like oil and natural gas SAVED the Great Whales. Without that easier access to machine-oil, and the other products that whalers provided, whaling would've continued. Fossil fuels made those products cost-ineffective. Oil and Gas drilling provided more advancements and advantages to human civilization than ANY resource EVER discovered. How about you people be a little grateful for all the benefits it has brought to your cushy, sheltered lives. Among them THE END OF COMMERCIAL WHALING!

Not a true What if video if you don't consider what the world would be without whale oil back then, It played a integral role in the industrial revolution. Imagine a world without petroleum today that's where we would be at. Whaling has been done for many millennium's in human existence. easy to say it is barbaric in today's world without thinking what a integral part it has played in evolving technology as we see.

The problem is the problem creators- industries and corporations that have made the very few very rich. Then the very few point the finger at all of us. I-m a weeb but man I hate japan for not giving two shits about ocean life. Why were we given intelligence? The obvious answer is there'd be more whales and if the Inuit still exist, they shift more to seals. It's sad that some ethnicities have to die for this.
