-Aging is a curable disease- I want to live for 1000 years or more. Stay in my best healthy state forever. Live as long as I want and have the CHOICE to die. Because I will have the CHOICE to live.
Yes aging is natural but so is not aging. Some animals can do it. Really we shouldn-t appeal to the naturalist fallacy. I don-t care if aging is -natural- let-s get rid of it. We are moving to other planets so overpopulation isn-t a worry. If it does become a worry then people should have the choice to live or die, those who want to die then fine, otherwise stop having kids.
-We will drive our own evolution with TRANSHUMANISM- sometimes it-s better to escape the whims of natural evolution in other to stay at our best state because sometimes -evolution- doesn-t mean -progress- look at the book -all tomorrows- to get an idea.
We wouldn-t get bored of living when there-s more to experience in life than you can experience in one lifetime and that amount will keep growing and getting better. Our greatest minds wouldn-t have to die so they can keep contributing to science technology and philosophy.

In mortality were you can-t die from getting old and you can only die from accidents and illnesses sounds pretty sweet. At some point if you want to die you can just kill yourself or you-ll probably at some point catch some illness or injury that kills you. Immortality as in you-re completely durable yeah I did nothing can kill you nothing can damage your body would be horrible though eventually you-ll probably have done literally everything that there is to do on the earth and then the earth will have natural disaster and stuff and it-ll be destroyed and even if you go to other plan and eventually all those plans will be destroyed and then eventually the universe will be empty with your still intact body just floating around forever. If it was in mortality in the type where you can still get injured or ill but you can-t die from it imagine if you took a serious injury but you-re still stuck there suffering just forever. That would be horrible and then eventually your body gets ripped to pieces and is floating around in the universe your consciousness still not being able to get away from your ruined body.

Believe it or not I just want to die at some point. I don-t want to stay on this planet forever because the universe is doomed to eventually end and I don-t want to be floating around in 1 billion years in nothingness, even if my body managed just to stay hole and unharmed during the process of the sun dying and natural events. Although I do want to live really long I don-t think I want to live past a couple of hundreds of years at most. Living will eventually lose its charm and if there is an afterlife I definitely don-t want to spend too much time wasting time on this far from perfect planet when I can be in peace forever. I don-t really have a fear of death and most of the time when I talk about it it-s in a joking manner when I think about it seriously I don-t really think it-s anything to fear why fear something you really can-t do anything about?

I keep having to say this, but -overpopulation- is not a space problem. It's not even a resource problem. It's a resource DISTRIBUTION problem. Everyone in the world right now could fit in New Zealand if we lived as densely as people do in New York. And shipping some people to other worlds wouldn't make a damn bit of difference, because THERE IS NO FOOD OUT THERE. So I'm not sure what you think you would be accomplishing by doing that. Immortality would change life, of course, but it's not going to exacerbate overpopulation, because that is an imaginary issue. It always has been, and it always will be. Healthcare does not progress in a vacuum. There are other smart people who are working on other advancements to solve, and prevent, all the problems you listed.

Lucky for Earth, as long as we can make better stuff, we will make better ways to kill ourselves! Humans are always going to die pushing their luck. Has anyone seen all the deaths just posing for selfies. The majority of humanity will never be immortal. All we will ever be able to guarantee is now, so be safe, help your brothers and sisters, so that we can get to heaven, where immortality is guaranteed, and we will never again know pain.

1: 10 are you serious how many times must we say it stop playing god you'd think these smartsass scientists literally whould understand playing god and messing with the humen genetic is a dumb idea considering each genetic has a purpose removing one will make the rest fall apart humen removing the genetic that make us die will technically make us no longer humen the one thing in our dna that classifies as humen is genetics

if we become immortal, then government should strongly and stricly implement a law about producing babies to control our population, to be pregnant without the consent of the law should be penalized same as the level of comiting Heinous crimes, or maybe its a choice, if you want to become immortal, then you have to be vasectomized. in that way, since science conclude it as theoretically possible, then yes we can live longer.

If i became immortal i would kinda be okay with it, sure everyone would be sad about the fact their friends and family are dying but i have no heart, i wouldn't shed a singular tear, and if you think im one of those -r/iamverybadass- guys, im not, im serious here, though immortality would suck for me since im a guy that gets spooked easily so i would try my best to ignore horror movies.

Sorry but I want to live forever. I did not ask to be born, two people having nookie and creating life, but sentencing me to death was not my idea. I am in my middle 50's now and I am now facing death every single day. I was born to die, and I am a victim. It is not the miracle of life, too me it is a death sentence that you only realise once you get to a certain age.

All this stuff has been better explored by superior SF writers and philosphers. Why not ask some new questions? How do we recognise, deal with or prevent evil in a world that is full of cruel traps? How many politicians should we use as fertilizer? How many dolphins does it take to paint the Eiffel Tower? -

If silicon valley billionaires find a way to live longer it would be very difficult to keep it a secret to them self as history tells us, conflict of intrest will promote democracy, and may be after 50-100 yrs after rich people start getting younger and immortal, every one will

As a procrastinator, this would be bitter sweet for me. Like it's nice that I have forever to get things done but I can also imagine me looking at a table or something and saying to myself how I was supposed to put it together 100 years ago.

Don't forget one important thing: you wish for immortality thinking that it will be with conditions of your current life.
But no one knows what it is physchologically like to live for at least several hundred years.

I think I read somewhere that overpopulation would be an issue. I think becoming interplanetary would solve that. We would branch out to other earth like planets. Which would keep us busy as explorers.

Who knows? Nobody wants to die, and many people wish they were immortal. Maybe in the future, scientists might create something that can help us become immortal. You never know.

You obviously didn't think this out. If nobody died, we'd cover the earth in a pile of humans a mile high. Life would be a horrible nightmare. It would literally be hell.

I wouldn't want to be immortal.
I would want to stay in my prime up to 80, and then I'll rapidly age to what I would be like if I kept aging normally.

I don't think people would get bored fast as people probably invented some kind of VR where you can do whatever you want, just like in a lucid dream.
