What Happens If You Never Take Your Contacts Out?

How bad would things get if you never took your contacts out? You can probably imagine the discomfort that would come from leaving them in for days, but what about weeks, or months, or even years? How much would you damage your vision? Could you lose your eyes? And why might it cause you to have diarrhea?

The day and night contacts made for sleeping and supposed to be thrown out after 30 days, ive left them in for longer than 30 days. A lazy habbit i formed. Ill take them out and clean them but ill have the same pair going for a few months maybe until i decide to switch to new pair. If i have a new pair available. Never had a problem i can recall related to leaving them in that long. Right now i dont have contacts and ive been using natural vision for maybe 6 months now after id say 6 years of contacts/ glasses. My vision never changed and thank god my eyes still work the way he made them. Next time i get contacts id be more responsible cant always be lucky.

I don't know about anyone else but I have literally left my contacts in for as long as possible for years. They only came out when they dried up and fell out. Obviously when I pulled them out it was painful (stinging, red eyes etc) In three days my eyes are back to -normal-. Not saying this applies to everyone. Keep in mind though if you ever experience more frequent eye problems, you should be wary of wearing them 24/7. It all depends on how breathable the lenses are and other factors. Even if I was a doctor though, I would never recommend this.

Lies? Or misinformation? Or I-m just built different? Because I left mine in for 3 months (cause laziness) and other than the occasional dry or slightly red eyes, I practically forgot they were there (I had air optics flexible contacts. No pain, no infection, no blindness, no extreme tear gushing and unfortunately no diarrhea. In fact my vision didn-t even get worse (went to the eye doctors, prescription was the same. But I got LASIK about a month ago. So idk if I-m just different, or if this guy is just making stuff up.

this whole video is cap--i haven-t taken my contacts out once in 6 months. my vision is never blurry, i don-t poop my pants, i can drive, play sports and function normally. my eyes never get red or itchy either. soooo take what you will from that. it-s really just a scare tactic they use so you keep buying new contacts. of course what i do isn-t healthy but it-s not as unhealthy as they say.

I've had them in for months at a time a few times and only had minor problems. Some days I'd have slightly itchy eyes but that would go away in about 30 minutes and sometimes the lenses got blurry which also went away after some time. I don't do this anymore but when I did it really wasn't that bad. Although I do think I got very lucky seeing as I never got any serious infections.

Ok so. I left my contacts in for about 2 weeks without taking them out overnight or anything, and I had no pain whatsoever. I have no idea why. But I took them out today and when I took them out that-s when I felt it. It wasn-t bad, it just went like there was something on my eye. -but there wasn-t- - vsauce music plays -

I kept my contacts in for literally a year and went for a check up. They found nothing wrong and my vision was exactly the same aside from one eye going up 1 point in the prescription. Im very fortunate. There arent enough studies to back this up unfortunately. I guess i would be a -lucky one- lol

I find is not to be 100% true. I where my contacts for months at a time i change them when They start bothering me never had any problems with my eyes at all and I-ve been wearing contacts since sophomore year of high school and I-m 30+ years old
reply

Bruh i wear contacts for days at a time and experience none of these
Edit: But if u do have any of these problems dont continue to wear them longer. I only do it bc it doesnt hurt my eyes or effect them.

I haven-t taken my contacts out for a month now, not -discomforting- at all; I don-t have diarrhea- and honestly, I sleep in them too and don-t wake up with red eyes-- like honestly I find this all false
reply

It-s terrible. but I leave my contacts in for like a week or two at a time, when it said they would be red and stinging after one day I literally laughed out loud. Mine don-t actually really bother me.
reply

I use day and night contact lenses. I have them in the eyes for a month without taking out until I change them with a new pair. I've been doing it like this for five years with any problem.

I wear my contact lenses for months at a time without ever removing them until they fall out or I feel like cleaning them
I-ve been doing this for years and I don-t have any problems

Longest I-ve had my contacts in was 3 weeks to a month and it felt pretty fine until about the 3 week mark then I got burning eyes with streaming tears in waves every now and then

I literally keep mine in for like a month at a time and I can say it hasn-t ever hurt my eyes at all so idk maybe I-m lucky whatever tho

My friend once left contacts in for 2 weeks and she said that its all good, no red eye, no pain, no nothing, they weren't even dry
reply

I didnt knew you gotta take your contacts out everyday - I used to think you could keep them for months without removing them
reply

I wore my contacts for 3 months straight. 24/7. It only started to irritate in the evenings after intense smoke sesh's.

I used to think that using that much contact solution was a waste, but it-s really necessary to keep them clean
reply

I wore my contacts for 3 days once. they dry up, burn, water, and make the eye itchy. They naturally fall out.
reply

I-m at 35 days with no problems. I-m watching this just to check. The trick is to not wait until you get red
reply

The only problem with this is that I keep my contacts in for weeks at a time and it doesn't bother me at all
