What If the Solar System Orbited a Black Hole?

Get more insightful information about black holes and how it would be like to orbit one with Pr. Clifford Johnson: What would happen if our planet got too close to a black hole? According to science fiction, we'd be sucked into a parallel universe, or maybe even the future. But in reality, it wouldn't be nearly that fun. Instead, our planet would be ripped apart, piece by piece, starting with our atmosphere. So what if we moved a little further back? Instead of the black hole being right beside us, we move it to the center of our Solar System. Would our planet still be destroyed? And what would that do to our Solar System as a whole?

A SCIENTIFIC answer, and not BULL----.
Black holes cannot suck matter into them except under certain conditions. If the sun instantly-
turned into a black hole, Earth and even Mercury would continue to orbit the new object and not-
fall in. There are two common cases in the universe in which matter can be dragged into a black-
hole. Case 1: If a body orbits close to the event horizon in an elliptical orbit, it emits gravitational-
radiation, and its orbit will eventually decay in millions of years. Case 2: A disk of gas can form-
around a black hole, and through friction, matter will slowly slide into the black hole over time.

I actually tested this what this what would happen in a game named solar smash I just replaced the sun with a black hole lol and all of the planets got very stretched out orbits because of the speed and gravity while mercury got a very small orbit and Pluto got thrown out of the solar system--- and Mercury and Venus collided with each other because since of the small orbit Mercury hit venus while orbiting lol and just Uranus Neptune and Saturn got thrown out of the solar system and the rest of the solar system got sucked in lol

4: 14 Not true! It's the rotation of the earth which defines the year. So the year will still be the same albeit seasons will not change, and there will be a global average temperature. Besides, if the earth starts rotating at a near speed of light then the time dilation effect will push in and people will live longer as compared to on other planets, of course, without realising it.

The comparison at 0: 58 is totally inaccurate. If a black hole had the same mass as the sun, it would not be the same size as suggested at this point in the video. If a black hole was exactly the same size as the sun, it would probably have millions of times the mass of the sun.

James L. Skaja is the original theorist who made this astonishing discovery. but was given an F- on his 6th-grade school paper and was ridiculed for his intelligence! He later pursued a career in art, being ranked top 5 best black and gray artist in the world!

Fun fact there-s actually a supermassive black hole in the middle of the Milky Way galaxy so technically yeah our solar system is orbiting a black hole already so we can-t say what if Our solar system is orbiting A black hole

It might already be considering what Voyager found. A heliosphere or bow shock at the edge. Global warming or event horizon closening? Anyway an idea for conspiracy theorists perhaas lol?

How sun has created: black hole flames mercury Venus earth mars Saturn Jupiter Uranus Neptune dwarf planets hades boreas] do you know now that it's created with black hole
reply

Given the spiral shape of galaxies I 100% believe each one has a black hole at the center they all look like everything is being sucked in and spiraling around the center

What if: No sun light mean no food and plants.
Advanced Civilization orbiting a black hole: Nahh its better than a sunlight, or should i say. Black Hole Light?

Fun fact about space: once in the 1960-s there was the best band of all time called the Beatles! Did you know you could do yourself a favor by listening to them?

I thought that was an eye at the beginning of the video. The black hole looks like a pupil and the light in the boundary looks like the iris.

So basically common sense for anybody that knows anything about black holes. We wouldn't want Earth anywhere near one! lol
reply

You are wrong. If black hole has same mass than sun then it's not the same size. It's much smaller. Please correct the video.

I looked up research on one thing about space and I been constantly looking at space videos n planets non stop, thanx what if

What if if I woulda Beyond a ring donut thing well I would have fit there watch the video of the solar system

every what if vid
Question: what if a ummm we discovered a new planet?
Me: we discovered a new planet

reply

0: 59 Wouldn't that be the same diameter as our sun? A black hole with the mass of our sun would be much smaller.

I-ve been watching ur videos for years, thank u for still making interesting videos about space. I learned alot

Fun fact the soler system is already orbiting a black hole and its super massive, its called saggitaurus A
