I still want to see a what if humans had evolved at the size of insects. Would we be more technically advanced by now or would we have never gotten out of stone age Would we have spread out all over the planet or would oceans have been to much of a barrier How many of us would there be now Would we have dominated the insect world or would we be prey Would there be more races or would we be very homogenous Speaking of more races, would earlier varieties of humans like Neanderthals still be in existence or would they be still be extinct and would there perhaps be other varieties of humanoids that are not considered human Theres so many places to go with this one, I think it would be interesting. Human beings are for the most part large creatures in comparison to most other living species. But What If.

I wouldn't be cold, hungry, or scared. While everyone is trying to drive inland and get stuck in traffic and drown, I would be migrating with the animals up a tall mountain peak. and seeing how the world is so warm that it melted the ice, It certainly wouldn't be cold up there. With all the animals Migrating up the mountain with me I would not be hungry. As long as you know how to survive outdoors you would be totally fine. Thankfully I have been camping over 100 times in my life. I know how to survive in the mountains without people or without food. And thankfully due to my exposure to the outdoors my immune system is pretty strong. It would take a very nasty virus to hurt me, and It would take a wicked one to kill me.

If the Earth were 100 percent water and nearly everything else were nearly the same maybe impossible but whatever then, assuming life had originally evolved we wouldn’t be here. Some fish, or maybe aquatic mammal, would rule the Earth. It probably would mean there wouldn’t be much advancement though because, say, working with electrical appliances isn’t a good idea underwater. But things would be very different. Maybe it would be better. Probably it would be better.

If all the ice on earth melted, it would not become a water world. The more interesting question is what would life evolved to on a water world. It would be impossible for life on a water world to evolve much past what we see in our oceans today. Such a planet would never host life that would create technology. Land is needed for life to do that. We'd never receive any radio signals from that planet and the inhabitants could never become space-faring.

Actually, in the beginning, God created the earth, but again the earth was formless, and void, but it was water, all of it. It was only water, with deep emptyness.
Genesis 1
1. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2. Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Um. I gotta chime in and make this point. If water were released from the mantle it wouldn't cause the oceans to rise unless we're adding extra mass to the earth. Basically if the water moves then something has to take its place. So instead of water levels rising it would be more accurate to say that land masses would start sinking to replace the water

How could there be water in the mantle I haven't heard this hypothesis yet, but the mantle is 1000s of degrees, unless there are some cool spots that exist it would all be pressurized steam. Not sure this has been confirmed to exist yet, it kinda sounds like a biblical flood hypothesis as an explanation for where the water went.

The rich living in underwater habitats is pure fantasy. It would take decades, or even centuries, to build such a thing and would require a huge quantity of resources: building materials, energy, and workers. The rich would both literally and figuratively be in the same boat as the rest of us.

Could you theoretically re-direct an asteroid by wrapping the side facing the sun in alluminum foil would the foil cause radiation waves to begin reflecting or bounce off the foil (I dont know if it would create kinetic energy and im not googling it bc its cooler if you answered)

If anyone survives, it'll be back to survival of the fittest, and not who can be kept alive with medication. No more diabetics or asthmatics, no more people with hesrt disease or other disabilities such as lethal allergies. The human genome would be wiped clean of defects.

You forgot if the water level rises the water temperature of the water drops hence cooling occurs also that creates more issues
As desalination causes water cools quicker.
Also the orbit and tilt of the earth would be effected which. Could in theory cause an ice age

I was deeply impressed by the detailed narration and stunning visual effects.
This was truly a remarkable pieceon par with, if not better than, documentaries aired on public broadcasting.
Thank you for sharing such a high-quality production.

Did you say we'd lose 1/3 of the population of the world and show a number over 5 billion Um that would be 2/3 since we have about 8 billion. Saying 5 billion is a 3rd implies total population is 15 billion.

Life came from water but humans would not survive in a waterworld. We would have to evolve backwards and this takes billions of years. Cities floating in space orbiting the planet is the only alternative.

I'm tired of always hearing guys like this say the same thing. How about using technology we have and dry up 40 percent of the ocean and use it as new land and stop the threat of flooding

Would be ok where I live. Just move up the hill a bit. Top of mountain on my island is 3716m above sea level. Water would never reach anywhere near that.

There's not enough Ice on Earth (Tara) to cover the planet. At best, maybe sea level may rise 6 - 10 feet maximum. nice try with the Click Bait.
