Why are People Unhappy in the Modern World?
video description
I'm a millennial, and I have friends on both the right and left. Sometimes in your political videos, you bring up the most radical ideas as demonstrating core philosophies, but when I talk to my friends, none of them have heard of these radical views. And I don't mean stuff like QAnon, which is radical but everyone knows about it. I can go find examples if you want. I wonder if part of it is the fact that you're gen Z? Potentially you may be hearing lots of wild ideas from your Gen Z peers that are not reflected in society at large. It's just strange because I read Ground News (used your code) and stay up to date with the news, and yet your videos mention ideologies I've just never encountered. It also makes those videos land a little hollow, since you seem to be discussing strawmen, at least to me and my friends.
Yeah yeah, 10 months behind. I watch out of order.

Population pressure and the stress of modern life may cause an increase in violent tendencies. The urban environment is the incubator for all sorts of undesirable behaviors. However much this atrocity disgusts us, he may actually consider himself a hero. This is common among those who are referred to by the popular slang, going postal. In his tortured mind, he may feel he was battling against impossible odds. It is not unusual for some individuals to believe that the entire fate of the world rests in their palm. In the end, our subject displays all the classic symptoms of a paranoid delusional. We may never know exactly what set him off but, rest assured, we will have plenty of time to study him.

I think your video is good and hits on a lot of focal points that are really socially rusty in the modern day. I think your white perspective/ upbringing inadvertently blinds you like the horse to things that brown people and especially women have to face on top of what everyone else does. You also seem to have this perspective that good ideas/ significant things only happened from white people, when if you look at the trends, its whoever has a combination of luck, wealth and privilege. I hope that you dont take this as slander and if you want advise on how to become more nuanced than you already are, try cooking different foods and picking up other languages.

20: 30 thats interesting. I like to call myself agnostic with a somewhat atheistic model of the universe but its wired to me that an atheist would find these to all be completely logical and fundamental, but they are all just societal constructs that have positives and negatives. For example I believe human rights are an important idea to uphold a moral code legally and mentally based on principles integral to social culture and survival, yet beyond what we enforce on each others minds the only right you have is what your able to physically do yourself

Happiness is an internal condition, largely independent of one's external circumstances.
It's a measure of internal integration, and the ability or willingness to express oneself freely.
We modern Westerners, for the most part, are compromised, trembling, lost.
silent. desperate. distracted, isolated. over-entertained.
spoiled, eating snacks.
sedentary, bombarded by advertising.
very, very sickly and compromised people.
And therefore. Not happy.

Why would anyone assume an alleged higher suicide rate in Nordic countries indicates that people there are less happy in general? People who are secure and not engaged in the battle d'jour have more time to seriously contemplate things like the value of life. It doesn't mean they are sad it just means they realize death is the ultimate destination anyway, so why not face it on your own terms instead of hanging around waiting to be taken out by some virus or blood clot?

Social media is equivalent of a bull's nose ring for society but especially women who guided by fear of disapproval will go along with social justice and equity ideas rather than face isolation for daring to question. careful manipulation of digital media has provided the source ground for our insane liberalism that is destroying our societies. If the media messaging had been of a conservative bent we might well be living under a far-right fascist dictatorship.

I think humanity is going to build a new world based on shared humanity. At the end of the day, everyone just wants to be chilling. By that I mean feeling positivity and not being upset sad hopeless etc. So our goal should be explicitly that instead of focusing on other stuff that may or may not lead to that like economic development, building relationships etc. That might be part of it but its not the goal itself.

My neighbor threatened to call CPS when my son was playing outside without shoes or pants on. It was nice and warm outside in our fenced in backyard where i had the backdoor sitting wide open. He was barely 3 and nearly done potty training. He wore underwear all around and apparently I was not only neglecting him, but a terrible mother for allowing him to play in the dirt, by himself, without pants and shoes on.

Im my opinion a lot of these technologies will be a net gain to humanity. Just like how going agricultural was a long bloody journey, so will be our modern technologies and issues such as pollution and demographics. Humanity will go though some bloody and horrible growing pains just like every century before that, but the goal isnt perfection, its the pursuit of perfection.
