Nooooo! Do not mess with the football. We have had the same football for who knows how long and to change it would be a bad thing for the sport. Look at the NBA in what was it, 2006 I think, they changed the basketball and it was awful. Players fingernails were splitting, blisters formed all over their hands, the point is it would be a bad idea to mess with the football. Even if this experiment worked, it would be a bad for defenses. If Aaron Rodgers can throw it 65 yards with out even trying, defenses would have to cover 80 yards of the field while still being able to defend the run. We would have 50, 60, 70 point games regularly and there would be no defense whatsoever. LEAVE THE FOOTBALL ALONE!

Wow that-s such a Great Idea! Maybe we should make the Field smaller as well - would be easier for the QB to throw. And the Field Goal should be a lot bigger - so that the Kicker always scores. When everything becomes easier, I think the Sport will be much more interisting for the Fans to watch!

decrease the mass, change the material to carbon nano fibers, fill it with hydrogen gas instead of ambient air, then add smart nano sensors and micro thrusters for in flight azimuth and trajectory control via QB neural transmitters. add in a flux capacitor to future proof it. game changer

Leave it alone theres no point if it goes farther because that means that the wr have to run farther and faster meaning there is more presure on the o line not the Defense the o line has to block longer giving linebackers and the d line more time to sack te's would have to join the o line

No way! Don't touch the football design! That's allot to lowering a basketball rim to 8 feet. Just no. The NFL football is already skinnier and lighter than a college game ball. Don't touch the football design! It's perfect as is. I was a quarterback, I know what I'm talking about.

Or they can just be men and play football. Lighter gear, sure. Safety, sure. Don't -optimize- a balls flight path to aid in more passing plays, which will then become incredibly difficult for the defense. This isn't long range ballistics.

I like football. offensive football and defensive football. A game with a final score of 38-33 is great, but so is a game at 17-14. A change to the ball could lead to arena league type numbers.

Except the football HAS changed, it-s changed twice. First it was round like a soccer ball, then it was changed to more of a watermelon like shape, and then finally it was changed to what it is today

No need to change the ball. Everyone shouldn't be able to throw it far. It's like decreasing the basketball net so everyone can dunk, you can't see the talent if everyone can do the same thing.

It would ruin the game. There-s nothing wrong with how it is today. Plus all the quarterbacks would have to adjust to that, so it would take like 20 years for the game to be how it is today again.
