I was a dog person because I never owned a cat until now (I'm 30. I 'was' allergic to cats too and all the cats I interacted with previously were aloof (obviously) when I tried getting close to them which led me to have misconceptions about cats. When I moved in with my partner who has a cat I thought it would be a problem. I didn't even know how to pet or touch a cat properly. Turns out his cat 'adopted' me and started coming to my lap, asking for pets, occasionally coming to my side of the bed at night and sleeping next to me (some times even spooning XD, pouring around my legs all the time to the point that my allergies started getting less intense. Now I love both cats and dogs but I know cats can be also so affectionate when they get to know and trust you.

Cats are not an -unknown code. - They have signs you can read so easy if people did their research. Wagging tail -back up! - Slow blink -love, content, happy- perk up, eyes normal but lids wide -what is that? - tail all the way up and tip forward -oh what a beautiful morning, what a beautiful day, - Ears slightly back but not all the way -don't like loud noise- Mrrrp! -Hello, follow me! MEOW -gimme gimme [insert food here]- Rolling on the floor -love you! - Tail parallel to them -sneaky, sneaky. -

I grew up with a dog but as a cat owner for 10 years, I can definitely attest to them having SERIOUS personalities, temperaments, attachment bonds, and hilarious facial expressions that show so many moods. Their ears are also really mobile and tell you a lot about what's going on for them -- something I didn't know til having my cats.

My beef with cats is that they have no decorum. They should know it is their duty as pets to respond positively to any vigorous petting, hugging, holding etc. of them which might occur at any time day or night. But they don't. They actively abandon their responsibility to the relationship and show no remorse in doing so.

As i am trying to read all the comments. one thing I realised, i have never euthanized my cats. and i will never do it. no matter what. because, when a human is in pain or sick. still we try to live the last breath. but when an animal is sick. and not treatable. we euthanized them.

I-ve seen too many videos of cats slapping the $hit out of their owners, biting them and ignoring them. This is not open for debate. Cats tolerate their owners as they provide food and shelter but don-t be fooled, you are -The Help- and their entertainment. Nothing more.

My cat just won-t leave me alone. Runs up to me, rubs against my face and even climbs on my back for rides! Other people say she-s horrible but she-s just trying to protect me and the other cats, they-re her family and she wants to keep them safe.
Truly a queen

I-m autistic person with depression and I have low energy and spend a lot of time lying in the bed. I-m also not social and people think I-m boring, mean or shy. I also have 3 cats and we are perfect for each other. I understand their behavior better then dogs-

To me cats are more like babies due to their small size. a dog is more like a friend who can play with you and also gives you attention and definitely most dogs are not small enough to carried around like a cat. Different animals hence different behaviour.

Tbh my cat isn't mean, we eat together, stay together, walk together freely without collar, my cat would go around outside freely and will come back to my house at proper time, and when I feel lonely my cat would sit and curl on me and Comfort me.
