Former prosecutor Lucy Lang is back to take a look at more courtroom scenes from television shows and movies and breaks down how accurate they are. Can you actually throw the book at a witness? Editor-s note: an earlier version of this episode included a clip from an unofficial Rick and Morty video and was published inadvertently. WIRED regrets the error. Lucy Lang is the executive director at the Institute For Innovation In Prosecution at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Next: Professional Custodian breaks down janitor scene.
Custodian: Notice here he's intentionally swapping out the mop water in the bucket, not only that he's also using a level three cleaning agent for what's clearly a level one hazard spill, totally unrealistic. If it where me I would have continued with that same mop water, switched to a too prompted mop head set up my caution sign, in asked that the spill be announced on the PA system.

If I'm ever in court, I'll trust the real-life lawyers not to throw things at me. Also; I have excellent impulse control so, even if someone who doesn't know any better hurls a projectile my way, I trust myself not to retaliate.
Say I surprise myself, though. Roger the part where proceedings would stop. What else?
Would I be in trouble or would such a counterattack be forgiven? It doesn't seem like self-defense, exactly.

You can't just say the actor is your dad and go on with the story as if nothing. it's like saying -I was walking into the Oval Office and I dropped my watch and everybody turned to look at me, it was so embarrassing, anyways, it all came out good, then I went to my friends house and. - nononono, wait a minute.

Fracture had a little My Cousin Vinny moment, there. Spilled coffee on his professional suit, so the tux he was trying on for later is the closest to court-appropriate attire he's got.
Are there real occasions of lawyers getting dress code exemptions because of awkward circumstances?

I don't see a problem with the guy at 2: 38ish and after hitting the gun with his hand because -jammed-. I'm pretty sure that's all men's 1st thing to do when something is not working properly. So what if the defendant at that time just tried to hit it because it wouldn't fire.

Yes, it was a little over the top for Neuman to grab Kramer's clothing and yank him against the front of the witness box.
He should have limited himself to a forward yank of ten inches or less. That's gotta be within courtroom regs, right?

I was actually surprised they put Crime Story that is such a good show that sucks it got canned after two seasons. I loved Dennis Farina and Stephen Lang then of course it was added if he is her dad lol

When will Wired make a video for a Teacher Breakdown? No love for the teaching profession? Teachers can't be experts?
I went ahead and made my own video because they haven't yet.

To me, the fact that she took the Chewbacca defence serious and tried to compare it to a real court procedure says a lot about how absurd the system actually is. Not even a giggle.
