I made one that only works while you sing and people dance so I programmed a neural network to watch at least one other person dancing and another network to identify the singer. If both occur at the same time, the microwave works. So I gave it to my friend who is a terrible singer just to screw with him. And yes, I included instructions -

my microwave has 3 settings:
1, Your Food is cold and inedible, but hay we had the light on and an annoying loud beep noise, your welcome!
2, Your plate/bowl is Hot AF and your food is warm on the edges and cold/frozen in the middle - MAGIC!
3, LAVA

I was more thinking of a console that would play the role of a microwave remote control but for that you need to change the code and electrical circuit altogether.

NGL I think a raspberry pi would be better as the gaming device for this type of project and it would be easier for it to communicate with the arduino too.

change it to karaoke. sounds like it'll also be fun. let's say that each song is about 3 minutes long. you could probably use that as a timer
