Jailer Steals Frostmourne & Helm of Domination. In the Runecarver's memory, we see the Jailer obtain the designs for the Vessels of Domination. These were probably passed to the Burning Legion & Kil'jaeden who created the Lich King, who then forged Frostmourne. Azshara's

To anyone concerned about why in wc3 it is said that kil-jaeden created Lich King and the sword, helm. It is simple. Jailor-s plan has been ongoing for a long time and probably Denathrious has been on it with him for a long time too. Remember, that it is him who is the master of Dreadlords and that Dreadlords are the most perfect spies and infiltrators. So I assume that it was a plan all along - Jailor passed these plans to dreadlords who infiltrated Burning Legion and passed it to Kil-jaeden as -found ancient plans- for powerful armor and weapon. And sincr Azeroth is an unique world with many life forms, its the perfect target to place these artifacts in and the facy, that Burning Legion was after this world, makes perfect sense why Jailor would pass these plans to them. I also suspect that Arthas made Sylvannas the Banshee Queen is indirectly influenced by Jailor as she is a perfect agent - quick, swift and hungry for revenge, ready to do what it takes. And also damned. I doubt that this was Blizzard-s plan all along but it makes sense, when you think of how it could have made it thru all the previous expansions and lore. Kil-jaeden may have forged the Frostmourne and Helm of Domination, but the plans were indirectly delivered to him by Jailor to furfill his own agenda.

An interesting character arch would be if Sylvanas turned out to be the -good guy- in all of this by trying to figure out how to not be a banshee, and return to be a high elf. Where is Arthas in all this? And it would be super sweet if Arthas was under the Jailer's control yet again, and he and Sylvanas are set to fight it out again. Sylvanas then clues Arthas that their misfortunes are because of the Jailer, and they work together to drain the Jailer of his power and lock him up again. Sylvanas and Arthas then come to realize that she can return to her former self by breaking Arthas' curse. She kills him to return as a high elf, and he remains in the Maw to be the Watcher of the Maw. The Night Elves move to the Eastern Kingdom, the Alliance re-claims Lorderon, and all of the Horde own Kalimdor. The only loose end is what happens with the Scourge and the Fallen now that there is no Lich King or a Banshee Queen? With the breaking of the curse, would the captured souls be released, and the Undead would be no more, for the souls would enter the Shadowlands?

I liked the old lore better, when the Lich King was a pushover in Kil'jaeden's eyes, but he overgrown all that. That he or Kil'Jaeden forged the Frostmourne. I still don't know what the runecrafter has to do with Kil'Jaeden, or the Jailor, Lich King, with each other and most of this connection seems very far fetched and superficial. Some of the old lore should've been kept clean. I don't mind characters returning, but rewriting their past lore feels weird.

The Helm of Domination was broken, Frostmourne was shattered. what was once lost shall be reforged. he conspired with Ner'zhul and the demons. to remove the Arbiter and gain possession of the realms of souls. oh boy, this is bad, this is very bad, like not just for our world but others, remember that druid and shamans seek to keep the balance of life and death in nature at peace.
reply

well, for the moment, it isn't a massive retc because we don't know how KJ procured himself the blade and the helm. When Ner'zhul refers himself as KJ's creation, it's not wrong as he locked the orc's soul into the helmet like the soul in shalamourne. The only disturbing thing is the dreadlord saying Frostmourne was crafted by LK. Hope they'll save the lote in the next patches

I only ever played WoW on my brothers account when I was younger (and don't dare to start playing now because I would probably fail my studies from becoming too invested lol) so your videos are amazing for me to watch and still know whats happening lore wise. Wanted to say thank you for uploading these and adding so much backstory too!
reply

Seriously the lore started out cool but this just retconned literally the entire game. If the dreadlords didn-t make the helm of domination how did ner-zhul get into the helm. & why was sargaris working with another pantheon after he found out about the void. And how the hell did sargaris and the jailer meet!
reply

So the Nathrezim didn-t forge the blade and helm? I mean this is ominous, yeah, and a cool idea but it hasn-t been fully explained yet. Though I did hear the Dreadlords dipped their fingers in the Shadowlands and kinda took credit. I can believe the Jailer to be one to take advantage of something like that.
reply

Everyone here saying this just goes with the dreadlords plan, and the Lich King never made frostmourne, etc. That is just convenient bullcrap to hide behind the fact the story has gone to crap. And also that the writers have no idea what they are doing. STOP DEFENDING THIS GARBAGE STORYTELLING.
reply

Quick question. Is there any special interaction with the characters in this expansion if you wield Shadowmourne? You know, the legendary axe, sister blade to Frostmourne that you could craft in WoTLK by running ICC every week to get primordial Saronite and many other crafting materials?
reply

You know this does make sense. I always thought Frostmourne and the Lich King looked too different from the Burning Legion's aesthetic to have had truly come from them; fire was more their thing, not Ice. And then there's the matter of the dreadlords.
reply

You know this suck ass! I liked it more as kiljaden created the Lich king(Nerzhul -punishment) and so defacto the Helm and e tc. As a prison. I know Blizzard likes to dabble with the Lore but man sometime Old is better.
reply

Honestly, as it progresses, it makes less sense. Guess they did the -Without a lich king, the scourge would be mindless beasts- when forsaken exists, was a buried bone in case things went south and they had nothing more to milk.
reply

Can they just give death knights 2 hander frostmourne transmog already. Paladins got ashbringer and a corrupted version. This is literally the best time to give us frostmourne especially with 2 handed frost back!
reply

i don't get it, why make arthas so big and bad just to turn him into an insignificant puppet inn later expansions. he was the best villain in wow and now you've gone and retro fitted it to take his title of badass
reply

Jailer obtains the helmet and sword, gives it to kil'jaeden who trapped ner'zhul into the helmet who enslaved Arthas' soul, who then collects souls with the sword and sends them to the jailer via helmet. right?
reply

Turns out the Litch King didn't forge the frostmourne, Arthas was not the first soul the blade claimed, Kil'jaiden didn't create the Litch King, and Arthas's entire campaign was just fake lore.
reply

9: 29 Great contrast
Sylvanas has become just like the one who she hated the most, it's almost poetic
And it's gonna be even more if Arthas is gonna reappear in future patches

reply

Warcraft's lore was never that complex or took itself too seriously, but there was something likeable about it up until around Mists of Pandaria.
This is just laughable.

reply

if silvanas won't betray the jailer at the end of this expansion and became garosh 2. 0 it will be became BS to be honest. cause it just repeating a story. lol.
reply

So cringey how blizz is trying to bring wow back by what was the biggest epic cinematics from before only with a twist. way to break it
reply

Anybody else think the runecarver is actually the prime or has someone confirm it and I just missed it, to me the runecarver is the prime.
reply

But he doesn't obtain them in this cutscene does he? If anything he just finally figures out how to replicate the runes on Frostmourne
reply

It's cool, just retcon more of your good lore to compensate for your garbage writing team. I see no consequences in the future for this!
reply

So in old lore Kiljeaden made the lich kings sword and crown but new lore it was the Jailer? Im so confused, someone explain whats going off.
reply

i mis-read the title as -JAINA steals Frostmourne- and watched the whole video thinking something epic that i missed was gona happen --. --
reply

this isn't warcraft lore anymore. shadowlands has now become a soap opera drama show about an edgy teen girl and her pimp bald boyfriend
reply

just a little request. can u stop using the reforged warcraft 3 cutscenes? i cringe always at the non animated lifeless characters
reply

'Your finest work yet'
Frostmourne: Gets broken by an old Paladin.
Helm of Dominion: Gets snapped apart by a dead elf.

reply
